I love this take of the house of the Fallen Trees with the French Creole style. It's a mix of the Sims 1 Old Town with Sims 2 lore and I'm here for it.
I think the speed for this video is pretty spot-on. I'm honestly a bit crap and building in The Sims 2 so it was fun to watch someone who knows what they're doing. I also enjoyed hearing you talk through your creative process and your style inspirations for this makeover.
Spectacularly wicked on a sensual level which is pretty much perfect for vampires given their reputation...thinking of the flock of them living in New Orleans as an example which your design echoes. All your choices work perfectly toward that goal - color, texture, the type of plants (love the way you set ivy to flank the doors when of course ivy isn't going to grow out of those boards, another 'vampire' touch since of course they don't necessarily need to be growing), and all the ironwork. The windows and doors work here. I can't clearly see the texture but if shasta did them, then the cartoony would be leashed. The small details are great - the flower petals terrain paint by the fountain, greenhouse mystery, and the dirt all around the foundation in particular contributes to the general atmosphere of disinterest in the garden club sort of lawn. People in that place live inside for the most part so it doesn't look abandoned which is good because it's not, just intimidating and old and strange. I have to say that in that place the basketball court looks like a pair of eyes staring up at you. It's an interestingly disturbing effect. Your finale is wonderful! You should be a cinematographer or director or something like that - the sound, the lighting, the effects, I love it! Your speed was just right, not too fast, not too slow, and your commentary was delightful.
Thank you so much! That's exactly the feeling I was trying to go for. Thank you for putting it more eloquently than I ever could 😊. I never thought about the basketball court looking like eyes! Now that you've said it that is all I see! Thank you so much for your lovely comments, I really appreciate them!!!!!
I loooove this! I've beenmeaning to do a renovation of this lot but it's definitely a big project. I don't see a lot of people talk about this but, if you bring back the whole family including Rainelle, and look in Kiernen's memories and relationship panel, they had an affair to which his wife Nylissit caught him having.. so I always include that in my theories for them. I haven't played them a whole lot but I really want to dive in and see where I can take their story. I've read a really awesome sim lit that had an amazingly deep supernatural history for them and it was really neat and inspiring, it's called UnPleasantview by Sim Traveller on Blogspot if you were ever interested :) Can't wait to see the second part of this reno! Also, I love the music you used for this video!
Thanks Maks!!! ^.^ It's definitely A LOT, but I really enjoyed doing the reno. I hope you do it, I would love to see it! I think the story with Kiernan cheating with Rainelle was part of MeetMe's original clean templates for downtown, memories that they added in. In the newer version of the clean templates they removed those memories. Unfortunately I don't have the first version, just the 2nd so I don't get that drama! It would be very cool though, lol. I have heard of UnPleasantview, but I never read it. I'll go check it out, thanks!
@@DarkestDawnYT Ohhh I had no idea about that. I thought that was super neat and was like.. why do people not talk about this more? lol that makes sense... ahah. I like the idea of her being a vampire hunter though, would be cool if she was like a female blade style one or something.. a vampire that hunts vampires lol. It's definitely an interesting read, I go back and read it again every so often cause i love it :P
Wow that was really cool to watch. Very pretty! I would definitely be super scared if I had to ring the doorbell at that place. The background music was also very creepy, it added to the ambiance.
Aww, thank you so much!! And thank you for the feedback on the speed. I love watching other's speed builds but certain ones I can't because I know it will make me sick! 😆
First of all, I love your voice, it's so calming :) I thought the speed was great. The fact that you talked about the things you did and about the house kept it interesting so the speed wasn't an issue at all. Second, you are a really great builder. This was really inspired, and I'm surprised to hear that you don't often do dark moody builds, you do them so well. Your take on the TS4 to TS2 conversions was spot on, imo :D They do tend to look too cartoony and plasticy! But, like you said, the ones you picked for this build worked well. Thanks for a great video, I'll subscribe for sure!
Thank you so much, Ani!! I'm so glad your comments are working :D I think I'm starting to get the hang of the moody build. Lol, they are loads of fun. And yeah, the Sims 4 textures don't always translate well into the Sims 2, but these really worked out nice. Thanks so much for the sub!
@@DarkestDawnYT Yey finally!!! RUclips trusts me haha! I'm glad, now I can finally comment properly on your videos. Glad to hear you're enjoying the moody builds - I bet since you're a fan of Buffy too 😁 I look forward to seeing more moody (or otherwise) builds from you.
This is an excellent build and I don't think I would have been able to make something like this. By the way, the "s" in "Fleur-de-Lys" is not silent (French language, am I right?) I know Crisps and Kerosene in real life and she's always happy to see her CC get used, so I'll send this video to her.
Thank you! Ha! I never knew the "s" wasn't silent?! Thank you! I never took French in school - 6 years of Spanish and I totally cannot speak Spanish, but, anyways... I'm going to have to try to say it with the "s" 😆 Cool! I love their stuff! I have almost everything Crisps and Kerosene ever made.

Thank you! That's what I wanted the Vampire Quarter to end up being, a bit of Sims 1 Old Town and a bit Interview with a Vampire.

I have never seen someone did a speedbuild on sims 2 for years
Thanks for watching! :)
