This is such an interesting mix of the grand (curtains and statues), the old and worn (floors), the empty (echoing), and the ominous. The paintings and sculpture celebrate the equivalent of vampire royalty. Expensive chairs and tables, expensive everything really - this is a group of people who really enjoy their wealth and are damned proud of what they are and don’t care who knows it. I’ve never played the Tricou family and don’t remember ever going into the house but I’ve seen enough photos to appreciate the change you made to that mine of a basement. It’s beautiful down there now. It’s no longer impossible to imagine them strolling down. Using the same curtains, the same stone arches, the same style of furniture throughout the place really contributes to the sense that some remarkable (and rich) family has lived there for a long long time and likes certain things to stay the same. The gold and black and blue, and red, really work to strengthen that. Again, very old, very royal (ancient Egyptian or Sumerian old). The John and Jennicor story is very sad. I assume that being an elf she celebrated living things - kind of like standing out in the gorgeous celebration of life that is the cicada Brood X outside my home right now - the air full of wings and life and enormous buzzy song. She gave that up to sit in a room full of death - dead butterflies, dead bees, all that beauty silent and still and nailed up on a wall or shut into a glass box. Hard choice to make, and perhaps a hard one to give her on John’s part.
What you’ve done emphasizes both the beauty and the ugliness in the vampire legend (the stains on the floor for example make it impossible to ignore). The house is quiet and lovely - you can hear someone cough in the darkness it's so quiet. It’s glamourous candlelight and clothing and rugs, but the life there comes at the cost of the death of the unwilling. Moving the young firmly into plasma is definitely a good thing!
Oh, and I love the cologne sunscreen! And the bats! And the dead ivy! And your idea about a secondary hobby thus separating arts from crafts and voila, there’s a drafting board. Really evocative opening and closing, and your narrative is wonderful. I really enjoyed this!
I hope you're a writer, Elizabeth, (if not you definitely should be!) because your descriptions are so beautifully thought out and detailed. You take my boring half-baked ideas and flesh them out. Truly amazing!! Jennicor's story is so sad. She chose love over family and her heritage. Maybe collecting bugs is her way to bring some of the beauty of nature back into her life. (After I turned her into a vampire she immediately wanted to be cured of vampirism. That just goes to show that she was not meant for this life...) Thank you again!! ^.^
Part 2 of this renovation was just as amazing as part 1 :) I've never played with this family, but I really like the moody feel to them. Your makeovers of the sims look amazing too - makes me think of Umbrella Academy for some reason :D I completely agree with your thoughts on the cellar; it's a great idea but not very well executed by Maxis. Your renovation of it looks amazing, making it one level was clever. And your use of the nooks and niches set was genious! I'm a huge fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and your crypt brought my mind back into that world. A while back, I saw someone showing that it is possible to make several levels of basement, as in putting down walls at the bottom, laying a floor on top, making another wall, and then coming up to ground level. I think it might be interesting to attempt that is this house, but it's probably extremely tricky, haha! Love the bug room as well! The way you renovated the house (or mansion rather) reminded me a bit of Moonlight Falls in the Sims 3 (in a good way, that is my favourite TS3 hood). Like the layout and the character; I think it would really fit in there too. Loved the bats! It was a really nice touch. And I adore your commentary, you're so witty and informative. And I really like your take on the family's backstory and the way you wove Vlad into it too :) Out of interest, have you had the chance to play with the house and see if the lights do flicker? I wonder what could give that effect, sounds really cool! Thank you for sharing this build, it turned out amazing. I look forward to your next video!
Thank you!! 😊 Yes, I was totally going for Umbrella Academy with the uniforms, ha ha!! Hopefully these kids will be treated better. I'm a big Buffy fan as well so I'm glad the crypt brought that to mind! This house would've been great for Moonlight Falls, it's a shame that EAxis didn't recreate it and the Tricous. And yes, I played the lot for the first time today... and THE LIGHTS FLICKERED!!!! I died!
@@AniBats I see what's going on now, as I'm playing. The lights just totally go out. I was on one floor and it was lit up fine, moved to another floor, came back and only one light was fully lit, and the rest were either completely out or DIMMED. It's crazy awesome! 😆
It looks really pretty and creepy at the same time. Very cool and inspiring. Even my husband just looked at my screen just now and was like: "wait, what, is THIS the Sims 2? That looks great!". Anyhow, I felt really inspired by your previous video, the exterior, to transform the house myself. I made non-creepy apartments lol.
This turned out awesome! I love the basement! Also What We Do In The Shadows is such a funny show lmao I don't know too many people who know it so I always get stoked when people know of it lol Also the Originals was a lot better than Vampire Diaries I found but I've only watched the first two seasons. I can't wait to see the Grim mansion, have a feeling it's going to be amazing!
Thanks, Maks!! ^.^ I frakkin love What We Do In The Shadows!! It needs more love definitely, lol. I don't know if you saw the movie version with Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clement, but it is sooo hilarious. I love it. I think I might have given up on the Originals after the second season too. I was like, what's the point if none of them can ever really die? Ugh.
@@DarkestDawnYT Yess, I loved it., it was hilarious. And right? After they brought the dad back I was sorta like wtf? Mind you, I think the actor that plays him is so attractive so I was sorta aokay with it ahaha.
How much powerful your PC is? :D I played Sims 2 all eps & sps more than 10 yrs ago, I also build lots, but my graphics & amount of CC were never this impressive!!! I agree Sims 4 stuff looks a bit cartoonish in Sims 2 Basement altars are my fave part, and I think you should have kept the Gray Lady in the fountain, cuz she is a memory of a woman who was murdered in that house... also basketball was really out of order, maybe if you placed it near the front, outside fence, so it looks like some new kids build it over a forgotten land... PS I remember very well, when me and my sister opened this house for the first time, we actually thought (since Nightlife introduced public cemeteries) that vampires had ability to kill others :D + I also thought they were all vampires, but they died from sunlight, thats why house was turned dark & dimly by last surviving members.

I’m so impressed with your building skills! I struggle a bit building in sims 2 especially after sims 4 came out
Awww, thank you! I haven't played Sims 4 but it does seem so much easier to build than in Sims 2, but don't give up! ^.^
I hope we see a comeback of this series someday!
Thank you!
I love it! It looks like the school will be a lot of fun to play!
Thank you! I hope so. Schools can be a bit chaotic to play, but hopefully I won't mess this one up too bad. ^.^

Is this available to download? :)
Unfortunately it is not. Sorry.
Did you give all of the townies makeovers?
All of the Townies are moved in but not made over yet. I plan on doing them at the same time as I work on their houses.
Not all at once
But one by one
