I watched this several times, just fascinated by both the Tale of Olive (and Grim, when he's there) and what you've done with that house. Her house is feminine. There's a lush sensual atmosphere to both the house and the garden, and what feels like a sense of humor. She kills people with bizarre names because it's more amusing than killing people with boring names. She hangs skeletons up on walls and trees because the contrast with the surrounding elegance is 'hysterical'. I mean, who wouldn't laugh? She's pretty. The painted walls look like black ribbon on white satin. She has a corner greenhouse above the dead, and I wonder if there are roses in that greenhouse. She's romantic because for heaven's sake that's a statue of HER MAN standing out there for everyone to admire because, after all, he's famous, and he's hers, and he's probably truly stunningly hot under that robe. (Maybe the bones disappear, or maybe the bones are the big draw for her, who knows, she won't tell.) The wrought iron, the texture of the black shutters, it's all perfect for a woman who would stroll around being admired for one thing or another even if it's her ghastly creativity. That well is horrific. I love it. I love the garden in general, and it's subdued which works well here. You don't want it to compete with the skeletons and the gargoyles etc. (Thank you for using that technique when you painted the driveway and walkways. I'm working on something myself (blocked and burned out and brain dead) and that's such a perfect solution to using terrain paint but keeping the structure in place.) Your narrative and overall production is so entertaining and astonishing and I'm not a bit surprised that you're a professional graphic designer. It shows!
Thank you, Elizabeth!! I adore your comments so much ☺ I think Olive gets a bum rap just because sims "mysteriously" meet their end at her house. She's a really beautiful sim and if you age her down to adult she can be a lot of fun to play. I liken her to Morticia Addams, beautiful, strange, macabre. She's only had one love her whole life, Grim, and she's determined to be with him by any means necessary. Now she truly has everything she ever wanted.
I absolutely love the backstory you’ve created for Olive and Grim! Your uberhood sounds so interesting! I love that you’ve turned Belladonna into a magical world 😍 I also love all your spooky CC! I’m definitely going to add Bonehilda into my game, she’d be perfect in my Goth house!
Thank you Nerdyth!!! 🤗 I tried to keep the supernaturals in the hoods they came with, like in this case, witches came with Apartment Life and Belladonna Cove so the witches will live in that hood. But that also means sims I'm changing into witches, like Cassandra Goth, won't live in Pleasantview, but meh, she doesn't need to live there. It's too pedestrian for her anyway, lol.
What an awesome build and great story! Looking forward to see the interior as well. To have such patience for each loading screens... I don't think I could do it but who can say no to all that lovely CC 😍
Thank you!!! Yeah, I just got used to the long loading times. I would do something else until the game fully loaded. It was literally an hour plus to get into a lot. I'm so happy now. I don't know what to do with all of the time I'm saving, haha.
I am absolutely blown away at this. I love your story line to to mega hood. Also so glad that Nervous is with his family. Will you change his name back to Reaper or keep it as Subject? This give me Addams Family/The Munsters vibes. Also Ophelia wish she still lived with them, but it’s ok. Obviously she is still beloved by Olive as she is her beloved nieces house she can teach her witchyness too. Can’t wait for the interior design.
Thank you so much!! Yes, Nervous' name is now Nervous Reaper 😃 Ophelia is a good witch attending Llamaspit School of Witchcraft and doing well living with her mom (also a good witch) and her dad in Belladonna Cove. Even though they don't approve of Olive's "antics" she is still family [Insert Fast and Furious Meme Here] and loved all the same. Happy endings all around!
First video I've watched and I am extremely blown away.👍 I enjoyed your spooky narration even more than the perfection of your house crafting. I hope you post more spooky content like this because I would definately subscribe then. Brilliant work though👍
Great back story, loved hearing about it! Also, I've been adoring all of that cc you have, wishing I had some more and then you said you have about 20 gigs... I laughed so hard looking at my own downloads folder of almost 4 gigs and only 15 left on my drive! But anyways, amazing build as always!
Thanks Miranda!!! You don't really NEED a bunch of cc to make your game pretty but I'm too stubborn to give it all up. At least once a year I go on a purge frenzy but yeah, it still ends up being 16-18 gigs. I have no self control 😆
@@DarkestDawnYT Lol guess what? I made the most noob dummy mistake yesterday of deleting something and forgetting to back it up first, so I decided to reinstall the game to fix that. Then I found out I was actually able to install the game on my other drive (idk why I thought I couldn't last time) and now I freed up another 10-15 gigs or so! Hurray! Never been happier with my fail. Of course I'm immediately taking precautions now...
@@missadrime5807 OOOhhhh, more space for goodies! Just remember to back up your game files frequently. I do it on the 1st of every month (well, I back up everything on my computers at the first of the month) but especially my sims stuff. It's too precious for me to lose!
@@DarkestDawnYT I know right, I have a system now where I back up my Sims document files every time I close the game and made progress I don't want to loose. I just forgot to do the program files as well. Every first of the month is a great idea, thank you!
I've been looking forward to this! For the last couple of weeks, I've been wondering when you'd be back with another video, and here you are! It is a gorgeous house: so very wonderfully spooky and characteristic. Your story for Olive is really interesting, you truly made her come to life. And above all, the way that you told the story was extremely engaging. Your enthusiasm is contagious and you made me laugh and grin throughout the entire story. I love the way the house looks, the layout (imposing is a perfect word for it) and all the little details you added. Really nicely done! I look forward to seing the second part of this 🥰
Awww, thank you Ani!!! 🤗 Sorry it took me so long to upload. It usually doesn't take me too long to build, but I'm a slacker and don't want to edit the video. I'm a big time procrastinator. Olive's story is a hoot. Like she really killed all of those sims! Not that murder is funny, but it's funny that Maxis made her into a serial killer. And then had her give birth to the Grim Reaper's baby. Hilarious. Hopefully I won't take too long getting the interior video up! I'm giving myself a deadline this time so I better meet it!
I've been following the build trying to make it myself but how do you get the double column to work with the floor there? I followed EXACT and the double columns won't work 3:53
Sorry for the late answer! I used the snap objects to grid cheat to move them in place: "boolprop snapObjectstoGrid false/true" (without the quotation marks), if that helps.
