- An analysis of the Tricou family and its likely influences
Note: I consulted French pronunciation guides for Tricou and Gvaudoin, and asked a Louisiana local to check. Tricou is pronounced Tree-coo and Gvaudoin is pronounced Vo-dwin (local dialect) or possibly Vo-dwahn (regular French).

Thank you to everyone for your views and lovely comments! I would just like to mention that I have no plans to make more videos for a variety of reasons, particularly the fact that I have an autoimmune disorder and anxiety which means I'm incredibly reluctant to promise any more content. But I am very happy that so many of you enjoyed this video and the information in it! Thank you so much!
That house's basement is the creepiest thing in the Sims2. It gave me nightmare. LITERALLY
Same
Lol it's my favorite house!
No kidding i feel like I am watching a historical family documentary 📺
WOW! this video is awesome. the narration is great, everything's presented perfectly, and there are so many creative and original theories i've never heard before... outstanding work! really hope you make more videos like this because this is incredible and i would love to see more. also, thank you so much for providing closed captions ❤
Thank you so much! I don't know if I'll make any more since I just got really fixated on them and found out things I figured people would like to know, including pronunciations. It took me something like 16 hours, not including research haha!
sims lore is just too good..
4:56 "the answers may lie... in the 👺BASEMENT👺"
I loved this! Maybe those teenages were orphans, a wink to the Rain-Tree Society. They recognize Jon Smith Tricou as they father because he was kind of a benefactor. In my mind, I visualize this story: Rainelle could be the daughter of the second half of this society and she bought the house once the Tricou died as a desire to connect with her family, their history with this important "kind of" friendship.
Oh I like that a lot! It's much more wholesome than what I was thinking hahaha
@@annachibi2 not so wholesome because we already know how it ended 🤭
What is the rain-tree society? I have never heard of this?
@@HopeGardner3amed It's in the video, apparently, an orphanage
@@KagamineRinVocaloid just got to that part.
This is marvellous work, haven't seen anyone else put so much time and effort digging into this family, I've come to believe that everything you mentioned is indeed true as there is evidence to back it up.
Ahh thank you!! It was the research that almost necessitated the video, I felt. I just kept finding things that no one else had mentioned before or were buried in forums and really wanted to get it out to people!
Ooo, I never knew about all the real-life references to New Orleans and I'd always kinda wondered where some of their names came from. They all have such unique names and then you have Jon Smith 😂 I love all the theories surrounding the Tricous and the Teens, it's crazy how developed they are for being already dead and I always get excited when I spot one of the Teens out in the wild.
Top-notch script and narration, I really hope to see more in the future!
This is so great I’ve never heard people talk about this family
Im like 2 years late but this is a terrific video! Thank you for this!!! ❤
It's hard to believe this is one of your first videos about the sims lore, damn, I loved it. Keep your channel growing!!
Please pleaaaase I need more videos about the sims lore… this one is my favorite about the tricou family!
I've always pronounced it as "tri-cou" like the prefix "tri" for three. Your lore and story present a good reason for pronouncing it "tree-cou." This was fun, I enjoyed watching. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for commenting! I'm glad you liked it. :D
I've always pronounced "Gothier" as Go There, because there's a Go Here park.
@@bijou3000 Haha I like that
Rooting for your channel to grow! Nice video, well explained, no outlandish theories and no unecessary memes... Love it!!
Thank you very much!!
Your first sims vid comes out of nowhere and GAGS! You should be very proud. I’m excited to see more if you’re thinking of making.
This video is so good! I wonder where they get their names from like for years and finally get a clue . And I find the name "Jennicor" may also come from a character named "Jenicor" in dragaera novels. Love this video and really hope you can make more like this
Incredible job!! I have seen this name on the forums about the related teens and their dead family, but had no idea how deep the lore went. I am geniumely intrigued by this little gemstone and even more thankful for the sims 2 that had lore written in at every turn! Thank you so much for this informagive and well-explained video!
This is my favorite sims 2 lore
Okay but this is really really good. I always loved this family but I never felt like there was enough info about them out there. This video is brilliant, thank you so much for all the research and time and effort you put in ❤❤
OMG I simply loved this video, the atmosphere, the edition, the family footage and the reasearch to find all these references? Outstanding!
I really enjoyed this video and I hope to see more content, since Sims 2 is my favorite game from the whole franchise.
How did I play sims 2 so much and never have seen this :0
Hoodchecker flagged them and I had to fix them with Sim Pe - that's the only reason I know they exist🤷♀️
wow this video was so cool! i've never played any of the downtown households so didn't know anything about the tricou's, but it was so interesting to learn the lore and all the historical tidbits you found!
I loved this video, your voice and diction are lovely and the images are very well done. Thank you for bring this enigmatic family closer to everyone
Omg this is the best sims theory video I’ve ever seen! Please make more!
Amazing work this deserves much more attention
This is excellent!! I'd love to see more of your elaboration on the Tricou family and all the Sims 2 families!
I have to keep fixing the Tricou's in SimsPe because they get an impossible inheritance.
I never realised they had such deep lore behind them.
This video was captivating.
I rarely comment on videos but this is just phenomenal! I've been playing sims 2 for years and I never realised any of this
Love this video so much!! I have my fingers crossed you’ll create more visits in this style!
Wow this was both fascinating lore-wise and incredibly well explained! (Also omg that renovation of the House of Fallen Trees is gorgeous, did you build it???) Thank you so much for making this video, Anna. I hope you'll make more videos on ts2 in future, you have a real talent for it ❤ Edit: just read your pinned comment and completely understand. Please take this comment only as encouragement
Thank you for your kind words! And yes, I did! I meant to make it available for download but then I seem to have lost some of the CC I was using. Ah well, at least I have the pictures haha
Watched this with my cat, he enjoyed it!
Maybe the Teens are in some kind of cult xD Manson family reference brrrr
Ooooh never thought of that...
I believe the House of Fallen Trees is also a reference to the House of the Rising Sun
You did a great research for this video! Thank you for this deep detailed story)
Really good analysis!
I hope you do more of these, this was a pleasure to watch 🖤
OMG! You deserve an Oscar…
Omg love your takes on the Tricous
Great work!!
I don't know if my game is bugged but whenever i resurrect the Tricou family they are all related - so I had to marry them into different households 😅
Great vid. I loved this.
You need another video pleaseeeeee
I can never access the basement in the House of Fallen Leaves x
I’m still so confused
How did you revive this family?
Tricou means t-shirt. Welcome!
