It was a little flimsier than I expected. I had to add a 2x2 piece of wood to the bottom on the rear side in order to stabilize it better ruclips.net/user/postUgkxXTh-lz-8W6GcB219vTLp27-MxbZYObBX . It is also starting to bow a little at the outer wall ( I've had it up for about 6 months), I've already had a shelf tumble down because of the bow and the fact that the little shelf brackets are quite short. I went out to home depot and got some longer ones so that the shelves don't tumble down again. Overall, it looks very nice for the price and it holds a lot ( I use it as a pantry). I am very satisfied with my purchase. I just strongly suggest reinforcing it before putting it up.
Love your sense of humor Shaun! Great job on this one! I’m sure your sponsor appreciated you opening up their lift to a different type of crowd. Great stuff!
Brilliant video mauwn! A real glassy piece of work. I love the design and, "That finishing touch" was, absolutely, "The finishing touch". "Bottoms up", "Ishh". Keep 'er lit Bro!
Just found your channel and man I am impressed with the all round quality of the pieces and the videos. What impresses me even more is the lack of pocket holes in all the projects that I’ve seen so far, hope their absence continue. Keep it up!
Really appreciate it! I could probably count the number of pocket holes I have drilled in my life on one hand. Nothing against them, just not something I have decided to use in my furniture. Thanks for watching!
Beautiful and smart. Really enjoyed this. You got me seriously thinking about that damned X Carve. Feels like a slippery slope, but it's so doggone compelling.
Mastery is in the details. At around 8:08 in the video, before and after, the view of the cabinet is at an angle. Note the angle of the walnut on the side continues to the toe kick/base, perfectly in line with one another. Depending on where this sits in the home where it will be, that might not be visible. However, details like that speak to the overall quality of the work. Well done, sir.
Gah, I LOVE the way that turned out! The lines you inlaid on the front might be my favorite part...NO, the angle between the walnut and maple...NO, the brass! Oh, I like it all!
Great Build....how many hrs did you invest into it and what would the cost to a client be for something like this?....i know the lift alone is 500+ in most cases I have my first commission piece im starting and i want to make sure i price fairly
You might fool others with the Titebond bottle but I can clearly see a bottle of Lagavulin (16?) in the thumbnail. Good choice by the way 😉 Cabinet looks awesome as well.
Im not in California. I will be in June and haven’t booked the flight. Maybe I could drive. Should I assume I will have to use credit for the purchase?
I try to, but sometimes I forget! But yes, part of the consideration when making my logo was the ease of putting it onto finished pieces. Thanks for watching!
Hey Shaun what do you use to spread the finish? I seem to have picked the single 'tool' you didn't list in description. I've been using foam brushes and not super happy with it. Pads look like a good alternative. Thanks for the great video as always!
Thanks Scott! I almost always just use blue paper shop towels unless I am using a thick polyurethane or something. But for any oil finishes, or even wipe-on poly, it is just paper shop towels. Hope that helps!
Yeah, the ones that come with the machine are great for really intricate stuff, but they are just so tiny. I am using a spiral upcut bit that I already had for my routers. Not sure the brand, but I have been meaning to look into getting some more soon.
Thanks for the reply. Your subtle use of CNC combined with traditional woodworking is what pushed me over the edge to pick up my X-Carve. Excited to put it to work.
@@shaunboydmadethis can you make a video about that because I don't know how to put a refrigerator inside that small box . It would be a very interesting video for us . Lots of loves from India . Great work👍👍👍👍
Nom nom - just in time for Halloween too! Nobody watches TV these days anyway dude - do they? Can you add in a kick the toe board and a lit cuban flies into your hand feature?
Awesome Shaun! it came out beautiful. I especially like the brass rails. Using walnut for your bending jig Hahaha Why didn't you lay on top of it though?

Hey Shaun, I'm finally getting caught up on videos. This is an excellent build! Love the details especially those door pulls. Well done!
Thanks man! Yeah the pulls are so simple, but I am stoked with how they came out.
Probably your best piece yet. Well to me atleast. You knocked it out of the park with this piece shaun. Very, very nice job. Thanks for sharing.
Really appreciate it! It is definitely one of my favorite pieces I have built yet. Thanks for watching!
I love the detail on the doors. Such a nice looking piece
Really appreciate it, Kyle! Thanks for watching!
The walnut inlay on the doors gives it a slightly Art Deco look. Nice project, thanks for the vid. Cheers, David.
Thanks! I hadn't really set out to have an art deco feel, but as it came together, I dug how it was looking.
I see you went with the top shelf Titebond. Classy!
Definitely, have to keep the good stuff hidden for special occasions.
And a good vintage at that.
Beautiful and smart. Really enjoyed this. You got me seriously thinking about that damned X Carve. Feels like a slippery slope, but it's so doggone compelling.
Really appreciate it! Yeah, it is definitely a daunting thing to take the plunge into CNC, but it has been a lot of fun learning everything I can.
The brass finished it well. Great build!

Nothing like a double shot of single barrel Titebond III neat to end the day.
Gorgeous liquor cabinet sir.
Haha, really helps you unwind. Thanks Robert!
Great build, love the art deco type styling of the cabinet doors just makes the whole thing look awesome 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Really appreciate it! The door fronts might be my favorite part.

Great job, great explanation, great selection of drinks 😂
Beautiful cabinet and all the details. Thanks for sharing

That turned out awesome man. I really like the mix of wood colors and the brass. Keep up the good work man.
Thanks Jake! Yeah, all the colors on this one really came together nicely, glad you liked it!
That detail in the doors is awesome.

I feel super lifted up... by this build, Shaun. Great design, even without a tv
That is exactly what I am going for! Thanks, Kris!
Awesome work, can it be purchased and how much?
Are the plans for this still available for purchase?

Very classy!! Love the doors particularly. And some vintage Titebond in the cabinet! I see it was the 3 variety. A good year, I've always felt. :D
Can't go wrong with the 3. Thanks Matt, glad you enjoyed it!
Is it possible to get the plans?
Always glad to see your videos
Thank you! Really appreciate that!
Raise a glass to another classy build 🍸
Thank you, sir! Cheers!
Awesome project, Shaun!

Thanks Alfred! That was a fun one to build.
Titebond on the rocks good sir
Coming right up!
Cool video! I like the finishing touches you put on the cabinet.
Really appreciate it! Thanks for watching!
Awsome piece!! I hope you do actually put some bottles in there. How do you get the doors to close so slowly?
Thanks! Don't worry, it got properly stocked once it left my shop. The doors close slowly with magic and Blum soft close hinges.
Amazing work! Loved the selection of display! (:
Beautifully built well done
Thank you!
That brass adds the perfect special touch. I'll take a Titebond neat please
Haha, coming right up! Yeah, it needed a little something to finish it up. Thanks man!
Love the Titebond and tape measurers at the end. Nice touch! Made me laugh.

do you put your makers mark on your pieces? your logo lends itself great for that. nice ending btw

Which model of the lift was used in this build?
Pretty sure I used the 29" version for this: www.tvliftcabinet.com/29-Inch-Tall-TV-Lift?SID=c0ub98044b5ipin85umhd0ksm2
Looks like you're not using the standard end mills from Inventables. Which ones do you recommend?
