I think these are great first guns for a lot of people. You get a nice amount of swag and extras in the box and it's still about $200 cheaper than your XD's or M&P's, etc. Take care of it and it'll take care of you.
I recently purchased the Canik TP9 elite sc after testing a number of compact size pistols at a gun supplier/ indoor gun range where they had a large number of used pistols you could rent to try out. I really wanted to like the Hellcat and the S&W, but after repeated rentals and tge Sig P360, I purchased the Canik as I shot this better for myself and liked the way it fit in my hand. This was 2 months ago, and I've put 6 boxes through the gun without any failures. I installed an Olight combo on the pic rail and purchased a lower strength recoil spring. Even then, the 115-gram ammo didn't cause an issue. The Sticky Holster I purchased works well with this setup for IWB carry, and I'm pleased with this gun. I now have ordered the threaded barrel that I will install next week.
I carried glock for about 10 years, so much so that I kind of became synonymous with Glock with all my buddies.... I bought the tp9sc and I love it way more than the glock 19..
I’ve had my tp9 sc for a couple years and still love it! I’d personally check out streamlight, gunmagwarehouse, canik,Taylorfreelance and bloody wheels for accessories and upgrades.
Awesome video bud I’m considering the Canik TP9 elite SC as my first firearm and I love the in depth review. The Hyundai comparison was a nice touch you’ve earned a new subscriber.
There's a new gun that's come out, which is also compact. It's the Canik METE SF. You should try to get your hands on it. Not to be confused with the older SFT which is full-size.
Love my Canik TP9 Elite Combat. It has become my EDC. I wanted to buy a Walther PDP when I visited my local gun store. But the one they had, they already sold it. The salesman told me I should check out the Canik line. He told me they are basically a Walther clone. The Walther has a great trigger. I think I like the Canik trigger a little better. I almost went with the Canik Elite SC, but wanted something a bit larger to also use as a home defense pistol. The Elite Combat is a full size gun overall, but I still carry it comfortably all day, every day. Canik’s are awesome guns. By the way, the first “wall” you hit with the trigger is actually the striker/firing pin block. But it doesn’t have that stacking feel of a Glock striker block safety. It’s much smoother. The Canik is a very safe gun to carry with a loaded chamber because of that striker block.
I have and use canik as my carry personal self defense weapon because personally out performs my glocks. The things that they fo is out performs for me. Let's face the facts why do we carrying is to live for tomorrow
I'm a big canik fan, owning 5. All are awesome, but my favorites are the combat and executive. I also have the PDP Compact, as well as the PDP Pro compact. I do carry all of them. The combats, and my PDP are my go too. Caniks make a heck of a gun
This gun isn’t snappy like he says. Go shoot a hellcat pro and then comment on what snappy feels like. I shoot my tp9sc better and I feel less recoil than I do on my sig xmacro which has a built in compensator.
I got mine a week ago, (splinter blue) and I love it. Some of my coworkers are getting one now lol 😂 It's the trigger, I swear. And, it's not as snappy as he puts it. I'm running 124 grain jhp, and I truly believe it is an easy gun to handle all the way around. I will say, it is a chunky thing, but that's what makes it feel like a full sized, reliable and accurate gun. 🤘😁🤘
I will have to agree with Pablo Serna here my wife shoots with me and my kids too. My wife love the canik tp9 elite sc it's one of her favorite guns we have and she mainly shoots 380. She likes it more than tje 380 ez, kimber micro 380, and her lpc max 380. Which I find strange like he said. She wants one so I have considered getting her one and for me I love the gun it's one of my favorites.
I appreciate the review and perspective. As a first time gun buyer looking for an EDCC I am really interested in this and Walter style guns but will definitely be looking to directly compare against flatter shooting less recoiling options. Thanks again
Weird that you say it is snappy I took my sister-in-law to the range and she shot it like nothing. She liked it more than the Shield Plus and the P365 .380. My only "complain" is size, that's why I don't carry it more. Great gun to shoot, great features, reliable, great price.
I think it's a subjective thing. I've seen tons of videos that suggest this gun for a first time CCW carrier or a new shooter. Which is the exact opposite of this video.

I actually love mine. I have had the pleasure of shooting many high-end guns. Prior to this the CZ P07 was my goto EDC option. Before that it was the Glock 23. I will agree begrudgingly that it's a little snappy. That because of the ease of the trigger as well. This is a gun you will have to train with especially if you're not accustomed to light triggers.. I do not believe that the trigger is 5lbs. 3.5 or 4lbs. Defiantly not 5....
I have 2 Caniks, the TP9SA. MOD2 and the Mete SFX. Both are great guns with awesome triggers. IDK how you can compare a Glock trigger to a Canik unless you are comparing looks.
Wyatt Earp is quoted as saying "fast is fine but accuracy is final". I have learned to slow down and take my shot, and I do a lot better. Most of not all modern firearms are far more accurate than we can shoot them off hand. The tp9sf SC is a great inexpensive option for a carry weapon, even a home defense weapon.
Nice video. With regard to your assessment of the "snappy" nature of the Elite SC, what model or models would you say have the least felt recoil / flattest shooting among the modern sub-compact carry pistols?
Thanks for checking out the review. Some would says p365xl spectre comp is classified as a micro compact but it has similar dimensions of a sub-compact so I going to say it would be my choice assuming you want to stay with a 9mm
I own several caniks and I love them all, but I actually sold my elite sc, only because it was not comfortable to carry, for me. Just a bit too wide and heavy. Since I don’t collect guns, I sold it for a more concealable firearm. Great gun.
@@jackripper6033 I ended up choosing the glock 43x mos. I loved my Elite SC, but I needed something a little lighter and more narrow, but not too small. I would have kept it as a backup home defense gun, but I already have a Tp9sf elite in that role.
my current EDC is a shield m2.0, I've been thinking about switching the elite sc to have something with a higher capacity and a little more size. I just need to find one that I can test out before

If anyone has any experience with the Galloway Precision lighter recoil spring , please let me know how that functions. I love this pistol , but it is indeed a bit snappy. It shoots lights out though. Just wish it was a bit smoother.
I don't know where you were shooting and what you were shooting and if you have a weak wrist, but I own one of these guns and I am 75yrs old and I shoot this as if it were a 380, my groups are spot on and I have not felt any recoil that would be a bother to my wrist. I think you are evaluating the wrong firearm. I am a Veteran of 1966/1969 and past LEO. this is a very bad review of an excellent firearm. sorry, charlie but not today.
You jeed to get in the gym, or turn in your man card and start shooting a 22. This is one of the flattest shooting subcompacts ever. The p10s shoots super flat as well.. snappy lol, what a pansy
