    It amazes watching guys draw in the music on the piano roll like this. You would think it's only possible to get musical expression through the played notes of a midi keyboard but these dudes get so much feel in there using only the mouse and so fast!

      It's nice too see someone actually say this, it IS a REAL talent to just flow on the piano roll like this, too many people don't respect artists that work this way.

    I'm not in to the sound particularly but huge respect for the ear of Neddie knowing exactly what to do and while keeping a course he embraces happy incidents as well. He is determined by vision and not making things more complicated to grab the essence and stick to the program while working at light speed. I know proper production is more about the musical ideas and less about plugins. But Neddie demonstrated it's about fast working with a certain goal in mind but not absolute. I like that having a goal but also going with things and just make them work.

    and how do u produce i scale without usincg highlight scales, u just got the major and minor scale mapped out like numbers and then u count from the root note or what?

    • @AutPen38
      @AutPen38 5 месяцев назад

      Some people actually learned scales. I call these people musicians. It's not exactly difficult. It's just like learning the first few letters of a foreign alphabet.

  • @enderbcn

    Can somebody please explain the cord progression? I don't even understand what are half of the chords he used and what key he is using. And he seemed to come up with them so spontaneously... Like, yeah let me play Dmaj7 followed by F#min and then G#min/E? Please, help.

    • @oscatMeow
      @oscatMeow 4 месяца назад

      Must just know music theory at a pretty high level to know his starting point and progressions off rip. like he said at one point, "I want this to sound melancholy" so he will chose the notes that fit that description.. And then just add variation and nuance while they hear it and what they have in mind. This guy is knowledgable but I can tell he's a gamer or something cause dude is just crazy fast at making those decisions.

    Question, for the drums, why not just put them into a drum rack? I've noticed a lot of producers don't utilize drum rack and I genuinely don't understand why not 🤔

      It’s a matter of preference. There’s a myth that drums are punchier in the playlist but it’s wrong.
