What makes this moment so powerful is that Ryo has no one to blame but himself. He destroyed the world. He turned Akira against him. And he was the one who killed him.
and that's what Ryo realized himself. He lost everything while being in denial that its loss ever mattered to him. Maybe in the next timeline, he redeems himself by not going down that path of destruction? Who knows.
I found this show by having insomnia, finding the series at 230 in the morning, then proceeding to binge watch until at least 6. Didn't finish it in one go, but it was so compelling I couldn't look away
Yeah but it's all just a simulation that God reruns over and over again to make Ryo's life as much of a living hell as possible. God could just kill him, but he keeps him alive to watch him suffer.

Devilman è un capolavoro. La sua storia ha trasceso anche chi l'ha scritta, è un monito verso tutto il genere umano, una poesia eterna, tragica e bellissima.
Devilman crybaby, a tragedy about "love", is a masterpiece for me. It's the only anime which can make me feel sad and heartbroken. The ending is so poetic and beautiful. Plot 10/10; Characters design 10/10; Animation 10/10; Soundtracks 10/10 However, I hope there will be no season 2. I read devilman sequels (lady and saga) with high speed because the plot is so awful and full of sexual violations.
I’d say an even 50/50. The story is amazing and really shocked me especially the ending cause most shows are always hero wins but to see everything dies blew my mind and I actually cried to this show. I’ve literally never cried from any other anime. The soundtrack is so beautiful though. One of my favorite shows for the rest of my life no doubt.
The fuck. What you say is a non sense, since a lot of scenes had silent in there and are just masterpiece. Devil man is 60% good thanks to its scrip /scenario. A deaf person can be mesmerized by this show just by the theme and points it highlights. Don’t présume soundtrack is such a huge part of the work, or just should consider your way of appreciating a movie/film/ short cut or video
@@LitlleponeyD To be fully honest, I am slightly mad at how they treated the story, given that the original Manga and OVA's did it better in my opnion.

God kept Satan alive to watch him suffer a punishment, and the punishment that would make even the greatest of evil suffer was indeed, Love, he suffered mentally over the death of a mortal that showed him what love is, love makes us cry, angry, and happy, therfore, Satan suffered the most horrible punishment a demon could ever experience, LOVE

this show was incredible, my only complaint is why didnt Akira use any Fire abilities in the fight with Satan? he showed earlier in the show he can use fire, like when he burned the people that killed miki. i felt like because of the memory scene followed by him roaring with a volcano in the background representing his emotions, that it would have been so fitting for him to use fire, obviously he would still lose but it would be a really good fight
From What I See, I Think It Would Took Most Of Akira's Stamina, A Single Blast Like That Would Not Be Enough To Defeat Satan, And Many Devilmans Also Gave Their Lives To Restore Akira's Missing Limbs Which Makes Him Stronger With Close Range And Preserve His Stamina.
@@triheda well even if that was the case it would have been great to watch. Also that's what I said in my original comment. That I know Akira would lose anyways :/
Take the baton when it's passed to you... the greatest thing that Ryo didn't understand until Akira was gone and the most powerful emotion that a human can give is and was the power to love. Akira loved everyone and Ryo felt nothing, Ryo was so detached from the emotion of love he didn't see the baton when Akira was handing it to him over and over again. Akira wanted Ryo to join him because he wanted his friend back, because Akira was fighting for love, but Ryo was blind because he was also fighting for love he believed didn't exist, even when it was staring him in the face. You asked what the lesson was, according to humanities everyone will read the story and art differently, but the way I read it, the lesson was about love, the love of family, friends, and lovers. It tells a heartbreaking story about a child who was cast out from their paradise to learn about that love and in the beginning, they met a boy named Akira to teach them about that love, about mercy, about patience and peace, but in the end the child didn't understand anything of that love because they never saw it, they were blind to it. It took losing the most important person in their life to make them realize that they were loved and at the very end they realized all the heinous acts of violence, all the deception, all the turmoil hurt everyone around them and not just them but around the person they cared for so much without even realizing they cared at all. In the end they're alone with the world crumbling down around them. But who's to say that the lesson wasn't learned, the anime leaves us with the angels resetting the world. Maybe, just maybe, if the baton is still on the floor maybe it can be picked up, maybe it can be noticed, maybe all can be forgiven, with just enough time and just enough effort maybe love that failed before, can succeed. Because again, the greatest gift we as humans can give is love. Sorry, this is kind of long. TL: DR: I personally think the lesson is "Recognize love that is being handed to you before it's too late because you can't later."
Ryo had feelings for Akira. But Ryo is in fact non-binary. The manga creator confirmed that Ryo was gay for Akira. Although Ryo cannot understand human feelings and understood that he had love for Akira once Akira died and finally cried he finally understood human emotion and he didn't realise he was a reincarnation of Satan as his disciple until then becoming Satan himself.
