The difference between a model and an Idol is that the model is not important BUT the clothing that they wear. They are basically a moving mannequin presenting the outfit that they have on atm. An Idol however shows an image and presents themselves more than the outfit. Also the outfit choices hence the changes goes to the team behind the artist and not the artist themselves. Sometimes they do but mostly it's not the case. And most importantly the outfits has been fitted on their bodyshapes...so that's why it looks even better.

This simply because i. modern fashion models in designers eyes are "clothes hangers" as much as that sounds awful, they are not meant to stand out, the clothes are. The idols however are meant to stand out and the clothes are to accent this and elevate their aura, so the stylists are very smart choosing things that will suit them and altering them to taste (at least this is how it's support to be: looking at you NCT firetruck era).

despite being a fan of all the idols listed, i'd like to respectfully disagree. first and foremost, this video is biased. the difference in the way you described the models and the idols is so evident. also, models advertise and make the clothes look good as compared to the idols who were styled to make themselves look good. there is a huge difference in styling. the models were given clothes that didn't fit them properly (for product display purposes) and monotonous makeup by the company that didn't make them stand out individually. on the contrary, the clothing that the idols wore was tailored to fit them and and were given make up that made them (the idols) stand out.

both the models and the idols looked good but the models are supposed to model the clothes and for the idols they are supposed to be the attention of the whole outfit
I think most models wear clothing that are not *perfectly* fitted for them in most cases whereas an idols clothing is adjusted as to fit them perfectly. Models are "showing" the clothing whereas idols are "wearing" the clothing
Models show us how the clothings look and idols are styled by their stylist to look good
I think they both do *their job perfectly*
I think it's also not necessary to bring down the models just to hype your idols
