- For some reasons, Kpop fans always feel off when it comes to their idols’ interviews abroad. Maybe it's the cultural differences; maybe it's the language barrier; or maybe it's nothing but the disrespect and unprofession of some hosts who allegedly mocked Kpop idols right on television like they're some kind of jokes.

About the Jisoo case, do you think she was uncomfortable with Jimmy's question? Did Jimmy make a mistake or he was just trying to include Jisoo?
I think it was okay. It's better than ignoring her. And, it's fact that she is not as good as Jennie or Rose which is okay. I don't think Jisoo felt bad

About the jisoo case, I think it's actually nice of him to notice jisoo dosen't talk as much and giving her time to speak. It's better then all the interviews when she sits there not doing anything.

why are people so obsessed of hating on kpop and its artists? these idols have worked so much to achieve their fame and people still mock them. Racism isn't funny at all, is it hard to understand? In 2022 there are still people that think it is and it's so overwhelming.
Because they're angry that someone better and more prettier or more handsome than them made it bigger than them, so with nothing else to resort to they go to racism. In other words it's jealously being covered up by racism and racist comments which is worse than actually admitting they're jealous💀

Greek kpop fans were after their asses so quickly and it just got worse and worse. Needless to say that this specific show is not even something big or great. It's usually older audience that watches and it was so "funny" how then she asked randoms if they knew those idols and went "see? No one knows them" *proceeds to ask 60+ year old people*
And the apology was shit. But at least other shows started praising bts and playing songs (even ma city). For clout? I'm sure of it. But we got some positive light of them so.
The only thing I am grateful for is them not dragging all of the idols on that list into it 'cause I could not stand watching smth like this happen to anyone more. It is just so rude and I feel really sad for the boys, but most importantly damn her life must be so sad if she can only recognise a man that looks like a jungle animal.

I think that the plastic comment is unnecessary but I agree that it should have been cancelled. Trust me Greek kpop fans tried. Back then people turned against her and even other morning shows started praising kpop idols and all. The apology that cast gave was SHIT. And they tried to justify it with "we didn't know they are famous. No one knows them."

I think this has a double standard when it comes to racism because as soon someone is racist to kpop idols they get hated on and cancelled but when it comes to idols being racist its a "joke" or the people calling the idols out are called "haters"

I don't think Jimmy Kimmel was intentionally being rude, just made a not very good & cringy attempt to include Jisoo in the conversation.
The rest of the examples, in my opinion, were definitely rude.

I think Racism isn’t only ‘especially in US’ cause in many different countries, there are so many racism. It’s just that media often shows mostly the US, thats why we only get to see their good and bad side unlike the other countries.
I don’t live in America, I live in a non-english speaking country, and there plenty of people with backward thinking and are pretty racist. There are so many countries still with the ‘white supremacy’ thinking. Even in this video, some of them are not even from US.

I will never forget Elen rudely asking idols about their dating lives and then Mark shutting her up by asking why she asks everyone that question. Also this rude dude complementing native english speaker english 'cause he did not know they were native...
In any other case racism is truly unacceptable. I’m surprised their companies didn’t sue them for making these comments or at least get some of the ones who made these comments fired and or give a proper face to face apology.
Another RUclipsr brought up an interesting hypocrisy re: EXID. Of course, this is not meant to minimize what TMZ has done; no matter how many apologies they give, Asian Americans will likely suffer the consequences even though they’ve haven’t done anything to deserve it.
The Korean media seem to recognize that having their accent mocked overseas is wrong, but it’s quite normal for K-idols to mock other accents (most notably the “blaccent”, as well as those from non-Korean idols).

That's true, and I'm not excusing the Korean racists, I'm just saying,,, it's worse for westerners to do it, cause they're the ones in a diverse country with a history of racism towards minorities. Only to boast about how open minded they are or whatever. From that point of view, you'd expect them to be more educated on the matter than people who live in homogeneous countries, not on par.

In BTS's case, as they were the first and only act to conquer globally from this region, they got almost all the hate possible from foreign media, industry and even general public. It's a price they paid for being at the very top.. which is absolutely horrifying to imagine. But at least the newer gen would have it somewhat easy.

I am Greek myself. I know these hosts that called Kpop idols ''girls'' and ''ugly'' because my family watches this show. But I have never seen them mocking kpop idols! I am a big fan of Kpop and I really feel embarassed that, even though kpop is not that popular in Greece, people still like mocking kpop idols

As someone who is greek-American (and therefore grew up with greek culture and language) as well as a fan of bts myself im embarrassed to see that kind of prejudice shown from the Greek day show. I remember watching that episode while at my papou’s and had my jaw just drop. Such racism and just overall close mindedness to be perpetuating the idea that “masculinity is only defined with muscular and tough looking people with facial hair” is just gross and embarrassing for such a public show💀-

I found it nice actually 'cause usually talkshow hosts just ingore not fluent english speakers or like in case with one unfortunate interview with NCT 127 they don't know anything about the english speaking abilities certain member has. Like the dude literally said to a native english speaker that he spoke good english... Doing a British accent aka the accent of a NATIVE English speaker, is not the same as mocking someone that has taken the time and effort to learn your language. I hate that argument. Our fandom talked from their debut and said things like Jesy our jamaican black queen. In 2017 I finally I can say that understand what they said with jamaican black queen, after I entered in kpop and I becomed more open minded.

It’s really sad that most people who hates kpop are indenial racist (and sometimes sexist or even homophobic) Alot of people I know that hates/dislikes kpop has absurd reasonings like “I don’t get why girls crush on them, they look like women”, “I don’t like korean guys”, “Eh, they are just plastic”, “people just like them because of their looks”, “They look gay”… I’ve heard a lot of those…
I don’t mind people disliking kpop just because they don’t prefer their songs or their industry, its just that, some people just use discrimination as an excuse to hate them.

From the first issue, I think they purposely didn’t apologized to BTS in specific is because they didn’t want to disclose that they are ‘indeed mocking bts’ even though its so obvious. They should apologize nonetheless though to ‘whoever they were mocking even though we already know who’, Plus I don’t get why they have to apologize to Army when they only need to apologize to bts.

The Jimmy Kimmel question wasn't disrespectful at all. He was trying to include her as that is what we do here unlike other countries where they are purposely excluded from what I have seen.

It just shows the low level of journalism that some people can ingest daily on all sides of the world . I personally couldn’t stomach any generic tv shows anywhere as they all from what Ives seen in my life insult the intelligence of most people . These people deserve the audiences they get .
