Twice's Jeongyeon recently returned from a hiatus for anxiety, and was subjected to the same bodyshaming. One fan said it was a pity she had left herself go, when "she used to have the nicest figure in Twice". Another said that Jeongyeon's appearance was "making them uncomfortable". All this, when Jeongyeon's mental health was not the best. That woman in Jihyo's clip, foul as she was, was only voicing what some K-pop fans were thinking. It's sad, but true. I hope that Twice's members can turn to each other for comfort. They have all been through this baptism of fire, and know how hurtful and harrowing it can be. And that true fans can speak up, to let the girls know they are more than their weight, or their appearance.
Like I don't get why idols have to be that way. Idols are supposed to make the fans happy, help them feel good about themselves, then why are these idols criticized soo much? They put in soo much efforts to improve their skills, like Jihyo spent her whole childhood perfecting her skills,just to have been reduced to "you are fat". Like I don't think Jihyo's body type or weight is ever gonna make her top notch skills go down. Jihyo is a perfectly healthy weight and shouldn't be made to feel inferior about it. Seriously!! When Tzuyu cried, my heart broke. Imagine moving to another country as a 13 year old girl, not knowing their language, having NO family by your side, and practicing nonstop to persue your dreams...Not being able to visit your own mom. Tzuyu is just so strong, amazingly strong.

She's really soo strong for surviving by herself in a new environment which she's not familiar with. It must be really hard for foreign idols like Jackson, Tzuyu and all who can't visit their parents whenever they want. I'm proud of Tzuyu and her mother must be soo proud of her daughter for achieving soo much at such a young age and for going forward even when things were hard and she wasn't there for her.

The law banned a contract of more than 7 years so the companies can't make the idols sign a contract of more than 7years as 7 years is the max 😊 Yeah, you're right that they were quite new and busy. They just got really famous so they didn't have time to meet families and all .BTS member's families live in Korea still they couldn't see them frequently in their beginning days so Tzuyu ,a foreigner ,had even lesser chances. The period after debut is soo stressful and busy. Idols are quite strong to endure it all . Respect to them :))

2:51 I am American and very new to Kpop (about 7 months). And I don't pretend to know what "Korean beauty standards" are. And I have no idea who SooJin is or which Kpop group she is in. But to be looking at that beautiful face as someone tells her that she "has ugly on her" would make me laugh out loud, except that I can see the sadness in her face. A philosophy that I have always tried to live by is "Don't be too happy about the highs nor too sad about the lows".

As a Oncebit, seeing Momo’s elimination killed me every time and hearing that woman call Jihyo fat made my heart hurt so badly. Watching the LOONA girls make their first win is sad for me because LOONA really makes you feel like you are a part of the group, and Orbit worked hard to help LOONA get that win

@ so last year red velvet’s performance was pretty messy because irene’s in-ear shocked her and her equipment fell off 5 seconds into the song. it was said that joy and seulgi were also shocked by their in-ears (i’m not sure if that’s true). afterwards irene got mad and yelled at a staff member and the staff member made it public which caused extreme back lash to irene. many people think of irene as a bully but all she did was get frustrated and she snapped, it happens to everyone. they also like to pull the ‘she’s a 30 yr old woman she should know better’ but the fact is that just because someone is a grown adult doesn’t mean they’re GROWN, you know what i mean? she has apologized like 3-4 times too. the unfortunate thing with media is that it’s full of such lies just to ruin someone’s career. people act like she did a crime (as if they’ve never yelled at someone). many staff members and other people that have met her have defended her and said she’s a very kind and caring person, but you know how petty netizens are. luckily things seem to have died down and she’s received praise for her movie ‘double patty’. but even after the movie she’s been m.i.a.... hopefully she’ll have a birthday video like the other members this weekend 🙏

Neonpunch are now XUM which is 3 of the 5 girls in a new group under the sane company, I think the original plan was for XUM to be a sub-unit but with lack of money due to covid and talks with the other 2 girls the company decided to disband Neonpunch and have XUM be an official debut

Yeah, you're right that they were quite new and busy. They just got really famous so they didn't have time to meet families and all .BTS member's families live in Korea still they couldn't see them frequently in their beginning days so Tzuyu ,a foreigner ,had even lesser chances. The period after debut is soo stressful and busy. Idols are quite strong to endure it all . Respect to them :))

@ so last year red velvet’s performance was pretty messy because irene’s in-ear shocked her and her equipment fell off 5 seconds into the song. it was said that joy and seulgi were also shocked by their in-ears (i’m not sure if that’s true). afterwards irene got mad and yelled at a staff member and the staff member made it public which caused extreme back lash to irene. many people think of irene as a bully but all she did was get frustrated and she snapped, it happens to everyone. they also like to pull the ‘she’s a 30 yr old woman she should know better’ but the fact is that just because someone is a grown adult doesn’t mean they’re GROWN, you know what i mean? she has apologized like 3-4 times too. the unfortunate thing with media is that it’s full of such lies just to ruin someone’s career. people act like she did a crime (as if they’ve never yelled at someone). many staff members and other people that have met her have defended her and said she’s a very kind and caring person, but you know how petty netizens are.
luckily things seem to have died down and she’s received praise for her movie ‘double patty’. but even after the movie she’s been m.i.a.... hopefully she’ll have a birthday video like the other members this weekend 🙏
