Impressive car. I see it has more power than my altima...I got a 2008 Altima 3.5 SE with 270 horses and it's also a 6 speed but because the Altima is alot lighter I think they are dead even in a straight line.
@4MATICbenz You do make perfect 'sence', lol. Each engine has their own power curve. Many Nissan engines are known for having very good low-end and mid-range power while their top end power tends to level-out. Different things can affect it such as the compression ratio of the pistons to how aggressive the cam shape is. Honda is known for having very high end power to the top of the rev range but typically have pathetic low-end torque.
I've been waffling around for 4 years to see if I really really want one of these 2003/04 M45's. Driven quite a few; even like the 2000/2001 Q's. For a Japanese car this era M45 is just a hell of a looker....however. Top end just doesn't seem right for a adv. horsepower of 340. Twice now, yes twice I've destroyed a M45 on the other end with my 171k, 1991 240 horsepower Audi V8 quattro. First time he killed me off the line to 125, but later days after 130ish. Yes the old Audi are well..shit..but
Damn, two more months till i get one. Well the M35 atleast. Tbh either you needed to do maintenance on it or you have something heavy weighing it down cause it took too long to slide past 100 mph.
@4MATICbenz They're just tuned that way. Many get that fixed. I believe it's either just with a tune or you have to buy some cheap chip and then get it tuned.

Dam after 90 this thing falls flat on its face -- I actually like the cars but after 90 its slow as hell - geez my 1991 q45 was as fast or faster and my current stock 02 trans am would bus length this thing - I still may end up buying one in a few weeks though for my daily lol I mean I do like them overall but just had no idea they were this slow up top
Why is this thing slower than a 7AT G37? It's heavier, but has more torque. Were you driving uphill? 0-120 was 24 seconds, while the G37 does it in 18...
Why is everyone comparing this to way newer cars?? It was excellent for its time. But ppl shouldn’t down it because their car Thts 10 years newer is faster. Technology is better now

Okay, im finding a similiar trait among many Infiniti/Nissan models acceleration (CVT,auto, or even manual). They accelerate with impressive full potential from about 0-100, and then once you get into triple-digit speeds the car's acceleration gets very slow. It cant be the aerodynamics. For instance, this car is faster than my 530i by a full 2 sec 0-100mph, yet my 530i gets from 100-120 2 sec faster than this. Doesnt make sense. The Altima and Maxima have this similiar weird acceleration....
And no. top speed aint everything, especially for my 45 year old ass, but there are those days, you know? So the choice is still up in the air for me, M45, 2003/4 S8 so I can pretend I'm in Ronin. or a 2001+ 540i sport 6 speed/ M5... I'm thinking the Bavarian since the last one I owned was a '68 2002 and I don't care what anyone says...it was a well taken care of pile of shit in my book. The M45 after 90mph or so is like it's running into a K-Mart with Molasses walls. Opinions?

Love the M45s! The VK45 just needs Uprev, long tube headers, R2C intakes and full exhaust, and it should be a monster. Granted no body makes LT headers for the M. I think my Titan may outrun some of these M45s lol. Still, props to the M45!

No way ... No stock altima or maxima can run head up with a 2006 m45.. M45 gonna stretch you all the way out my friend .
you need to drive a 2013+ altima sedan or a 2016 maxima and then you'll see that the top end above 70 mph is much stronger than before.

my 4th gen 5spd max does the same thing. Hauls to 100 (3rd gear tops at about 102) and then it tapers off until you hit 140ish
