    The day Nebraska Football died. Yeah they still made it to the National Championship, but that was thanks to both #2 Florida and #3 Texas losing. Nebraska was dead when they got to Pasadena, and Miami had the game won before halftime.

      Nebraska football died the day they fired Frank Solich. Yeah he went 7-7 in 2002, but he kept the Cornhuskers relevant.

      @@ruston10 He went 7-7 in 2002, and then went 9-3 in 2003. It was after the 2003 season that he was fired.

    I LOVED Eric Crouch so much when I was growing up. He was my favorite player.
    I still come back to this game and rewatch it. I couldn’t believe how bad this ass kicking was 😂

    Ngl as a CU alumni. I look at videos of Folsom like this and it makes me dream of CU glory soon. Weve had a couple good years in my 15 years of being associated with the university, but nothing like this.

    Definitely the beginning of the end for Nebraska but if it wasn't for the superb play of Crouch the Nebraska decline would have been noticed probably up to two years earlier. Crouch masked alot of piling up Nebraska woes the biggest of which was Osborne's retirement.

    I told Craig Ochs when he was an assistant at my alma mater, the University of Montana, that THIS GAME was the most complete team victory I had ever witnessed. UN-Lincoln, my paternal grandparents' alma mater, has never recovered.

    Cornhusker fan here. 100 percent the death of the program. Fans still complain about :01 against Texass (09 Big 12 title) but this one was the killing blow. CU is three for three against N since 18 also and unless Raiola is as advertised my bet is next month you can make it 4

    Josh Davis out of Loveland was charged with a felony for stealing a Sony PlayStation but he wasn’t punished since he going to Nebraska to play football.

      Stealing a play station is not a felony. It's a dismissed case with a fine or a misdemeanor at worst. Playing for Nebraska means nothing to the courts. Just money 💰

      I will never forget when Eric Crouch caught that TD pass on a play called Flash 41 that snapped OU's 16 or 17 game winning streak, and cemented his status as the front-runner for the Heisman, which of course he won.

    Nebraska fired Solich AND left the Big 12...They went way down and basically were replaced as a power by teams like Alabama who came back from the dead

    crazy Nebraska got beat this bad in this game, Colorado beats Texas the next week for the big 12 championship, and Nebraska still gets selected for the national championship, only to get smoked by Miami. "but the BCS was better" people are saying lol!
    crazy to think if CU avoids that loss to fresno state in the first game of the season they make the natty!

    The Nebraska defense is so awful in this game. I don't know what they typically ran in 2001, but they look completely lost in Cover 1 and in their zone looks. Danielson is right, Colorado didn't re-invent the run game. Looks like counter and a middle / wide zone play and NU is just completely lost.

    It's been 23 years since the Cornhuskers of Nebraska lost to the Buffaloes of Colorado. The Blackshirts defense were fallen apart.

      It ended badly for Barnett but I will say he did get to the Big XII Championship 4 in 5 years between 2001 and 2005

      @@edwardrichardson9543 yeah, Barnett wasn’t a hall of famer by any means but my opinion on Solich is that he lived off Osbornes recruits until he couldn’t. The last 20 ish years has a lot of people viewing him through rose colored glasses.

      You’re right about it should have been Oregon v Miami. Didn’t beat OSU by enough to jump Nebraska. Miami was a different beast but for damn sure Oregon would have given them a better game. Oregon smoked this CU team in Tempe.
