Me too. Chris has already expressed his love for movies like Mark Forster's Stay or Denis Villeneuve's Enemy. Both of these movies have taken a lot of influence from David Lynch .
This movie terrified me with how close to home it was. It's classified as 'suspense' but the tightness in my chest said 'horror'. Maybe it's because that, as a woman, realistic violent men legitimately scare me, but this isn't something I'll be watching again. It isn't a bad movie to me, but maybe it's the fact that Crowe's acting really hits home, or the fact that this happens very often (obviously not to the extremes potrayed), or the fact that Crowe has a history of violence in real life that terrify me. It's a good movie, but the reaction I had to it will deter me from future viewings. It does its job of keeping you on your seat. Some of the scenes got so uncomfortable that I went from SlightlyUncomfortable to VeryUncomfortable and had to +10 my way through it.
I totally get that. That felt more then a psychological thriller. That movie was horrifying to me. When I got out after it finished my voice was high pitched and I was shaking according to me mom who was annoyed at me for my expression and tone especially. She thought I was joking and I wasn’t. I guess it’s because of what happened to me the movie was able to play into it. Have a feeling now I would have a similar reaction to it. I still would love to re watch it after all what I faced being behind but I still haven’t:
I hate it when they tried to get the cop attention on highway. That was not how to get the cop attention, she just made it so worse. I also hate that the fact that she lives in city, she was very careless at leaving car unlocked at gas station. The helping guy at gas station was stupid too, like who would stand in front of known roadraged guy's truck, like never never put yourself in front of a vehicle with driver in it, you should stand next of hard big object. Some more other situations in movie just got me so much raged.
Its typical to think like that from your point but she is in a panic and in those situations one can easily forget to lock the door or leave her personal items in the car..
In agreement and although I think my opinions are invalid because I'm a cynical, paranoid person I still want to state them so people can stay safe and don't suffer a horrible fate. Gas station and heroine sins in film. Her phone has no lock and she keeps her bank account auto logged in. Face palm It doesn't matter if you leave your car for 1 minute or 10 minutes, always lock your god damn car door.
It's realistic to me, a guy flashed a gun at me when I was going into labor on the expressway and had to pull over. People are legitimately crazy. I didn't find it far fetched at all.

"FALLING DOWN" was the movie that immediately came to my mind when listening to this review. Michael Douglas was excellent in the part. I plan to go see "Unhinged" as soon as our theatres open here in Arizona 👍🤩

I thought the ending was stupid. Like the lesson she needed to learn was to take responsibility for her own actions, stop being late and self centered but at the end she had all the right to beep because the other driver took a red. She didnt beep because she learned her lesson but because she was scared. She didnt grow or change. She was just scared.
I liked the movie but that ending was so garbage. If they had shown the psychological effects that having her family members killed because of her actions, that would've been wayy better than, "oop won't get fooled again. I'm not gonna honk hehe."

This movie had MANY dumb parts that made you think WTF? What about the scene when he calls her from Freds house.. you'd think the first thing you'd do is call the cops and say he's at that house? lol. And apparently in a big city you can drive like maniac.. bump into cars and drive like a maniac many more times and not ONE cop would pull him over? lol
@@rupman27isback biggest flaw is the mom going up to the attic hide spot in the end. He would have never found her son if she didnt open the bloody door
@@slenderfoxx3797 didn't the son knock over something and so Crowe heard that? But yes, that was also a dumb mistake from the mom to.. why endanger your son by going to where he's hiding? Unrelated to the movie but very related to that T-shirt: I just realized how disappointed Captain Planet would be knowing that most of his action figure likenesses are only contributing to plastic waste dumps nowadays.
I believe the opening sequence is necessary to get the audience in the frame of mind of "this is plausible and could actually happen, because to an extent, it already happens."
I think that is the lesson of the film don't blow your horn and yell at others and just be patient look at how many people die every year because of road rage.
I’m dying for the theater. People go to bars, I go to theaters. I’ll be going to the theater for this. I went and saw the tax collector last night in the theater. Only 2 of us in there.
Hope you're still able to be safe there, I'm really jealous. My town hasn't had a case in months but the cinema is still closed because they don't have enough movies to play

The theater near me has $1 tickets so I saw The Invisible Man 2 times, Jurassic Park, Jurassic World, Back to the Future, and Back to the Future 2. This Friday I am seeing the Inception 10th anniversary re-release.
online conversations are just like road rage. we all know that people attack each other online like maddogs, and that comment sections are vile and so on, but I've seen no one pointing out the similarities yet. People actually try to make me believe that people really act in real life the way they act online by saying X broke the internet or Y is causing outrage, no it didnt and no it's not, people arent really saying and feeling those things in real life, but when you're online you know you can call someone a SOB and nothing will happen to you, you dont have to face consequences, just like in road rage, distance is protection. the problem is if you spend much time online you begin thinking that that kind of online road rage is actually the norm, and that people act like that in their normal lives someone smarter then me should study this
this is not the norm.but it does happen..last year.old guy dying of cancer, got out of his truck at off ramp of 27 and south moore rd down from my house..murdered a young punk who f ked with him in traffic..let his wife live..alot of people were dissapointed when crow didnt kill her in the end,,or at least her son,so she would lead a dreaded existance after that..the human animal is the most evil thing on this earth..society and laws keep us in check..let that break down and the folks that will slit you and your families throat for a can of corn, will be the survivors

I like your comment. I've always gone to the comment section for added entertainment value beyond the respective video. I only recently started joining in on the commentary. I've got to say that I can tell what a slippery slope it is, and it is exactly because of the distance factor. How many people would be willing to carry on in person the way they do from behind their monitors? I'm guilty too. I get outspoken sometimes. I do, however, try to make my point and not be aggressive. And I try to avoid name calling or personal attacks at all costs. If a person is resorting to that, then they have probably already lost the debate and know they've lost.
I like how subtle Chris is with is shirt choice for the movie he is reviewing. 1) His shirt is a picture of Captain Planet pretending to be The Killing Joke Joker. 2) The Killing Joke Joker is a playable character in the Injustice: Gods Among Us iOS game. 3) An alternate version of the character is also playable in the iOS game. 4) This alternate version of Joker is called *Unhinged* Joker (which is basically just Suicide Squad Joker, but shirtless). @@Juniorgrimes Don't worry, I'll remember you for leaving a dumb self promoting comment on an unrelated review for a movie. Not sure if that's the way you want to be remembered but that's how it will be.

We've been in lockdown for 4 months, not allowed to leave more than 5km's from our houses. We've had no new covid cases for 16 days straight now, but still had to wear masks, practice social distancing with having to be spaced out etc. Was so good to see a movie and have a beer... hope things feel safer near you soon
I was excited for this one but the overwhelming amount of plot holes, gaps in logic, keeps pulling you out of it. If you've got an incredible ability to suspend belief I could see it being a really fun movie. Russel Crowe does an amazing job in this one though no denying that.
All the characters in this movie were making the dumbest decisions ever! Russell Crowe's character seemed to be the only clear-thinking person, everyone else was just a total idiot. How is a psychopath the only level headed person in this movie? 😁🤷♂️
And trust me, the main character is dumb af. The character is just an absolute mess who makes the worst choices. Not the fault of the actress of course she does what she can.
Ugh yes I just finished this movie and I had to check what Chris thought but I’m surprised he liked it (not that that’s bad that he liked it he’s obviously entitled to his opinion) but omg it was so painful because she was such a dumb character!

Falling Down is the best movie I've seen about a guy like this at the end of his rope. One of Michael Douglas' most underrated roles. Definitely worthy of a Stuckmanized review.
The amount of car crashes in this movie baffled me and I do agree that there are logic issues with this movie. Like how towards the end the main character hits Russell Crowe’s car with him in it and his car flips over and comes out unscathed. But when like 20 minutes before some random girl who’s doing her eye liner in her car gets hit by Crowe and her car flips over with her in it and she dies (presumably) but Crowe comes out unhurt. Also the main girl and her son should’ve ditched the car and went on foot.
Road rage times 100? This sounds like pretty standard road rage actually. I’ve lost count of the number of news articles I’ve seen where some guy got honked at and then followed the honker all the way home to threaten them. It’s an unfortunately common occurrence.

This movie was so annoying. I skipped most of the main character parts because the acting was not there. Russell Crowe was good. Even the kid was good. The lead role and the cops in this movie does not know how to do their job!
Penedulum SkateCo what do you mean what am i talking about. I was saying that I saw unhinged and the cleaning was good at the theatre what is there to not understand?
This movie was absolute garbage and I can't believe someone threw money at it. The main character is unlikable, stupid, and isn't really redeemed by her actions. They really kept forcing thw idea that this is some person to person confrontation and that this 100 pound chick had a fighting chance against the mountain of the man Crowe is in this movie. He one arm tosses both her and her kid around the room but then struggles to choke a teenager with a cord. No less than three times a character is killed by a car appearing out of nowhere. The character eschews every opportunity to call the cops and when she finally does the first cop to listen to her is magically killed. The only believable thing in the movie is how Crowe's character keeps eating hydrocodone pills so you sorta believe he can take a beating. In our our time when so much has been learned about telling a compelling story, this movie gets fucking made. Unbelievable. 0/10.
Chris, great review as always. Just some things to think about: Your criticism of the main character having a lot of baggage and there’s no chance for her to redeem herself is BECAUSE the whole point of the movie is that SHE becomes unhinged!! NOT Russell Crowe. SHE starts off having a really bad day and it gets worse. At the end of the movie when she’s cut off, you see her first reaction was to create a fist . At the end of movie, she’s the one unhinged. Just something to think about.
@@crazierthan-u7571 absolutely!! I was not clear on that part. Make no mistake, that Crowe was the first to be unhinged. Agreed. Ahem...Russell Crowe's character had a bad day?! Whoa?! He starts the movie by killing people and burning down a house. I'd say he was the one giving the bad day to everyone he encountered. I didn't fund this movie campy or fun and they absolutely had a message, a couple of them. As a forever New Yorker, I dont like the message that if you beep someone, you're automatically being excessive. Who makes these rules up anyway? A horn is on a car as an alert, if someone does something that can cause an accident like cut you close, bully you into merging in front of you by squeezing you out, cut in front and break every few seconds, fail to lead when coming into a highway, you should be able to let them know that they're in violation of traffic rules and courtesy. It seems the rest of the country hasn't caught on to this and take someone beeping them as a referendum on their value as a person. I find it incredible that people take beeping so personally outside of NYC. If someone beeps me, I look to see what I've done wrong and correct the behavior immediately. The only people who fight or kill for a beep are those untethered to reality with a huge lack of perspective on real problems.
with the amount of cleaning and distancing they have in theatres they are as safe as they can be I don’t feel like I am risking anything when going in one
I went to a theater screening last Friday, for a movie I'm under NDA to not talk about. I can say it was good, it had some minor issues with its story, and the large cast of big name actors in it did well. It was a whole 'thing', had to sign the NDA to get in the door, assigned seating, armed guards, special wristbands, they patted you down and you had to go through a metal detector to enter the theater, and no phones were allowed, they locked them in rfid bags and kept them. Everyone had to be masked at all times, there were two recliner seats minimum between every viewer, and the entire showing was recorded by multiple cameras at the front of the theater with big infrared illuminators. The movie started at 3pm, you had to be there by 2pm, so I ended up sitting for an entire hour waiting in the theater, masked, with no phone. I meditated. After the showing, there was a survey to complete that took another 30 minutes or so. Was all that trouble and waiting worth it? YES, absolutely. I hadn't seen a movie in a theater in all of 2020, and it was great to do again. It can be done safely and comfortably, don't be a little bitch.
This movie's not bad, but very dumb. The most unbelievable bit was when the woman was taking Crowe's punches to the face and more or less shrugged them off. BTW, Caren Pistorius' stunt double in the fight scenes was the former pro wrestler Taryn Terrell. Maybe that's why the punches were no-sold.
I was already curious about this movie, but after watching this review I'll definetly catch this one. Where I'm at, a Cinemark theater has been open the past few weekends at limited capacity and they've been showing classic movies at discounted prices and honestly, it's been working out so far. For a movie buff like me, it feels soooo damn good to sit in a theater again. I really missed it.
He said before that; "he wasn't bored", with "Crowe chewing the scenery", but it's "by no means a great movie". It's a movie where you don't have to think, but won't have thinking about it afterwards either.
@@scottk1525 A lot of movies will have the audience asking questions about the characters or outcome. It seems like this movie doesn't really pose any questions about the characters. As other reviews of this movie have said, it doesn't really ask any questions of the audience, because it either fails, or isn't trying to be, thought provoking. In that sense, one can turn off their brain, but still find some entertainment in watching Crowe play out the rather predictable events. this movie is reminiscent of 'falling down'. i dont feel sorry for the protagonist. she is going thru a divorce and somehow its everyones fault. her son is late to school again and she cant even show up to her appointments on time.usually the viewer empathizes with the protagonist but she is getting on my nerves. im not really sure why she and not the villian is getting under my skin.
This was a decent B thriller movie, but was it really worth Russell Crowe getting fat as shit for? Like god damn man, you forgot the part where Christian Bale makes sure it’s a high quality part in a film being produced by top tier talent, before he gains 100 pounds.
Man Caren’s character was so annoying. Crazy part is there are millions of people like her. No gas, no battery charger, no lock on her cell phone etc 😂 I haven’t finished it yet but I’m sure hoping she has at least one smart idea
Yep. I was having a lot of trouble with her myself. If it weren't for all of the other innocent people in her life that she kept throwing under the bus, I'd have been rooting for Crowe's character to get her. She made one dumb decision after another, and that was after we get the backstory on what an irresponsible trainwreck she was. Most of us carry a flaw or two that she displayed, and we all could have dropped the ball a couple of times under the pressure she was going through. The writers just threw everything including the kitchen sink at this character though. It didn't garner my sympathy. I just didn't want all of her friends, family, and contacts paying for her mistakes. The only time she acted relatable to a situation was when she'd had enough and told Crowe about it, then smashed his phone. That was her only atta boy moment.

This was complete garbage. ignoring how he found her at the gas station, Are we really believing that she doesn't have touch ID setup on her phone with a lock screen. Or that she didn't call the police or any of her family. Or that the brother didn't call the police or the bs stabbing scene. and they just completely leave out the back story for his character except he obviously had a really bad day and had a mental breakdown. I would go to a movie theatre if I lived alone but my mother is a 79yr old ex-smoker & my sister has chronic bronchitis (she’s been hospitalised for pneumonia twice in the last 5 years). So I’m taking precautions that I wouldn’t take for myself because I actually have a death wish (for real. I’m not depressed or suicidal, I’ve just been hoping I’d go to sleep & never wake up for the last quarter of a century). I was going to volunteer for intentional COVID-19 infection, for the purpose of finding a cure but I couldn’t find a program & by the time I heard about 1 in Australia, it was already full of volunteers. I love the way this country rallies & rescues each other during disasters from fires, floods, hurricanes & now infectious diseases. Unfortunately Victoria has had to close state boarders because a couple of selfish girls lied on a form & went to parties leading DIRECTLY to the outbreak there. I want them up on charges for every person who died & they should have to pay the hospital bill for everyone who followed protocol & were only infected because of them (that 2nd one would be harder to prove)
This movie was really cheap to produce apparently as they just had someone beep their horn at Russel Crowe then followed them around with a camera.

Yup. 100%
I honked at Russell Crowe and the same thing happened to me, you don’t see me making a movie out of it.
Spoiler alert: He's not acting in this movie
I honked at Russel Crowe once and now my whole street is in the witness protection program
😂😂😂😂I’m not messing with Russell😂😂😂
Which caused me to wind up rooting for Russel Crowe in this movie. 😂
@@busoni1 😂😂 The Characters were doing stupid things, rooting for Russel was a superior bet. 😂

Its typical to think like that from your point but she is in a panic and in those situations one can easily forget to lock the door or leave her personal items in the car..
So you all nitpick and hate on the movie just cause you dont like this part of the film bit pathetic tbh it's a fantastic thriller
Just saw it today and if it wasn’t for Russell Crowe the film wouldn’t have been as great he was quite entertaining
The movie was great period
In agreement and although I think my opinions are invalid because I'm a cynical, paranoid person I still want to state them so people can stay safe and don't suffer a horrible fate.
Gas station and heroine sins in film.

I thought the ending was stupid. Like the lesson she needed to learn was to take responsibility for her own actions, stop being late and self centered but at the end she had all the right to beep because the other driver took a red.

To be fair, the movie opened with Russell committing murder and arson, so technically, he was unhinged first.

I really missed it.

this movie is reminiscent of 'falling down'. i dont feel sorry for the protagonist. she is going thru a divorce and somehow its everyones fault. her son is late to school again and she cant even show up to her appointments on time.usually the viewer empathizes with the protagonist but she is getting on my nerves. im not really sure why she and not the villian is getting under my skin.
@@markbrowning4334 who exactly did she throw under the bus? When it came to the contact list she actually tried her hardest there.
@@kujo4388 the guy at the gas station, the brother or brother in law(which ever he was), the wife of the brother/brother in law, the lady with the minivan that she didn't like, her parents had they been home, the lawyer.....you did watch this movie , right? Its not hard to put all of this together. Everyone she knew or came in contact with, she somehow gave away their position and got them injured or killed. It was through her panic or stupidity or irresponsible actions. There's not even a debate about it.
I am going to the theatre this week. I miss it so much. We are at 30% capacity in Chicago. I will have wipes and mask ready.
Your review was generous. This movie was hilarious from start to finish.
I called my boss at Showcase Cinema De Lux, Randolph today. Mr. Flynn told me that ushers and concession stand employees won’t be invited back until Governor Baker approves the next phase of his reopening plan for the state of Massachusetts.
Not afraid of seeing any movie in theaters as of now.
Just want to see some come out that interest me. Tenet being one of those.
I'm gonna see Unhinged in the theaters this friday. Glad to know Chris liked it.
No way I'm sitting in a theater with a mask on watching a movie.
Why?
@@bookeblade I have to wear a mask 50 hours a week for work. It's uncomfortable. Things I do for "fun", "leisure", "pleasure" I'm not going to do wearing a mask. Movies, I'll wait for redbox and make my own popcorn.
@@mountrussmore just wear it on ur chin
face guess that would work
Chris is always killing it with the shirts!
My local theater chains have opened back up and have been showing older movies, I've went multiple times and am ready for a new movie! Excited to see Unhinged!!
I know want to watch south Park's Russel Crowe beating up people episode
I just watched this movie yesterday and I found it riveting. Honestly I loved it. Russell Crowe plays that character so good. And the way you just tosses people around like rag dolls had me saying whoa....
You should check out "Sputnik" on Amazon, Chris. As an Alien/Aliens fan, i'm sure you'll appreciate its take on the creature-feature.
The Oscar for best actor in a movie should go to The Blue Phone. Best supporting actor in a movie should go to The Peppermint Scissors. If The Blue Phone and Peppermint Scissors had a baby, Russel Crowe would be mad at it.
I think the movie " Falling Down " is the Best of these types of Movies. M. Douglas is at his Best. The Haircut and Glasses make him even more Tense looking. He said that this movie was his Fav.
I would like a movie about Russel Crowe fighting people around the world
Featuring Tugger of course
Check out the rejected synopsis for Gladiator 2.
Anyone else watch Gladiator in high school history class??
I took Latin for 3 years in high school. The class was 90 minutes long. Our teacher was rarely ever there and we would have a substitute. This was the movie the teacher would leave for us to watch, and we would never start the next day where we left off the previous.
I know the entire first half of Gladiator...VERBATIM!
No. We learnt actual history.
@@big_ry82 How clever of your school....
@Aurelius I knew it Markus!
Maybe it was just my mood when I went to go see this film, but man I COULD NOT really enjoy the movie as a whole because of all the ridiculously dumb shit the characters do. Russell Crowe was phenomenal though
I would have walked out of the theater and demanded a refund for this junk.
