I love so much this interview of Camille Friend about how she stylished Halle's hair as Ariel in The Little Mermaid movie! Good job to her! I love so much the 3 shades/colors of red for Halle's hair and I love so much all of the loose hair for Halle as Ariel! It's stunning!
I loved this interview ❤ thank you for this and for keeping it natural I aspire to do natural hair for movies❤ I’m a cosmetologist for 5 years now that’s my end goal ❤abundance to you
It's not that crazy. It happens all the time. Lord of the Rings had like the biggest hair budget in movie production ever. Like in the hundreds of thousands. And that was like what??. like 2 decades ago.
@@Kap3lkathat's because the budget was for all the wigs for all people in the movie not just one single person. Each high quality wig on average is $6k per wig. $150k is about 30 high quality wigs.
but why an orange-brown red? I think that Halle would've looked better in a lighter red that way the scenes would really light up, especially with the tail to compliment it.
Nothing against locs but I don't like the straight hair mixed in. Her hair looked messy the entire movie. Should have just done all straight if they were worried about the hair "dancing" in the water. Plenty of actors change their appearance for a role- Halle could have went back to locs after filming.
@@hinata5734 I didn't miss the point. I know that Halle requested that. They should have just kept her natural black locs instead of creating a weird in-between version of hers and the original Ariel. Her hair at the premiers was beautiful, and I would have preferred that. This is just my opinion.
@@hinata5734 she didn't request it, the hair stylist visited her home and decided to keep Halle's locs after seeing her whole family and seeing how important natural hair is in their household. Halle Was open to doing whatever she had to do for the role. Halle has also been open about wanting to eventually remove her locs to see what she looks like with loose hair.
It's called *locs.* Dreadlocks are the hairstyle rastafari have. When your hair is locked like Halle's and neatly kept it's not dreadlocks. Then it's *LOCS*
@@vcb1023 That is a lie. In fact we know disney refused to even give auditions to actual red hair singers and actresses that had come out and commented about it, like the redheaded girl from riverdale.
Obsessed with her hair! Thank you to everyone involved in her hair it was perfect! Love the natural realistic ginger color and love that she got to have her locs as well. Thank god y’all didn’t give her the Ronald McDonald red. Whoever thought of putting the wavy hair mixed with the locs, I love you. It’s so good cause it made her hair look even more “flowy” in the underwater scenes. #MYARIEL❤😍🥰
I'm glad she explained why they chose the hair color for Halle bc I know people wanted the deep red like in the cartoon.
yeah fr they did that bc the red suited with the old ariel skintone but not halle’s
Way to go Disney for getting a talented black stylist to do Halle’s hair
Love her. What a great lady. She did a wonderful job

she did a great job on Halle's look for the movie!!
Its cool to see how they decided on halle's look. I love how her hair came out beautiful work.
This deserves more likes! I loved how she explained the process of creating the final look. 🔥
That's my sister from another mother! So proud of you Camille. ❤
it looks amazing they nailed it
What a cool experience! That has to be so much fun to work on.

Wow, just incredible work. Halle's hair was so gorgeous in the movie. This is what happens when you hire black hairstylists!!
150,000 hairstyles? Crazy ❤

So she’s the culprit behind these beautiful style over Locs?
No, it's someone else
i wish they would of kept it red like the original movie
Same here.Saw the movie. Didn't like it.
It was a soft Cooper red which is more natural, especially for a Black woman.
Selena 4 Life the hair was red, especially on land. The underwater hair was CGI but the land water was more vibrant

Should have kept the character white as original
Disney execs said she was the best one for the part PERIOD! Choosing her had nothing to do with color. She was "Simply the BEST."
