Thank you for this!! I'm a beginner adult, I had ballet as a child but was never encouraged--never told that balance and strength can be learned so here I am years later, with goals for dancing en pointe. I appreciate your answer and love your online offerings! I am currently taking the classes I can at a local studio and my teacher knows my goals and has been very clear about the steps to get there---strength, skill, balance. I know it will be difficult, but it will be rewarding. I actually went and got fitted yesterday just because our local dance store is closing and I explained to them I'm not there yet, but didn't want to blindly buy online or drive six hours to a bigger city....the few seconds I stood up on Pointe to fit the shoe was probably one of the most amazing moments ever. I have honestly never felt anything feel so right and comfortable.....now they're sitting here, my motivator I'm working towards wearing them :)

Thank you, Isabella! I love everything you mentioned in this broadcast, especially about getting on the Pointe as an adult dancer. I am so happy that I was right about that. 😊❤❤❤

Hi Isabella! Im a newbie adult dancer and I love the way you explain things and how it should feel in the body because I am visually impaired. Do you think your intro class would be accessable to someone with a visual impairment. I have some vision! I see silhouettes but no details. I know some basics, I actually trained with a blind dancer, never in person but I can follow a beginner ballet class, sort of. I abviously dont know how it looks like;P
Apologies for the long text I hope you see this. I really appreciate you ❤️

Would doing the beginner series on BWI sufficient preparation to attend one of your in-person ballet beginner classes?

For sure! I really recommend my absolute beginner course which is really great for building foundations and then the beginner classes. I also teach live classes every week as part of your membership 😊

could a 19 years old beginner/intermediate make it as a professional ballerina with intense training for 3 to 4 years? what would you suggest? thank you so much, love the podcast too

I think it's very unlikely you would be offered a place at a reputable school. I was your level aged 15 with the same goals, however the level of competition was insane and that was 15 years ago. I got into a school, however was too far behind and got injured. That much training can't be squeezed in, you are competing with girls who have been dancing since they were 3 and could wreak havoc on your body. I have arthritis in 3 joints and I'm only 30. I suggest you pursue another dream and don't waste years of your life like I did. Nothing wring with doing ballet as a hobby.

Check out Veronica Viccola's channel. You may not be able to make it into a company (but never say never), but there are still lots of other ways to become a professional dancer.
To address the other commenter though, injury is REAL, and it's good to not be naive about that. I have a chronic injury from ballet as well, so, yes, ballet is very... hard-core I guess is the term coming to mind? Lol. Well, you probably already know that.
      Anyway, best of luck! ❤

@@Stijkyxheeseboi Thinking about it she might have a shot a contemporary. I knew a number of people doing a BTEC (in the UK) who went in to get into great contemporary schools - Laban and the Place.

Could you do a video on how to handle doing adult ballet classes with mild artbritic but strong feet? Not all of us oldies have the lovely feet when we first started ballet as children . Yes there is paracetamol tablets to take prior to class but what about other tips or exercises???

Thank for this video and a chance to ask questions. My question is more towards technique so, I am not sure if this is the right moment/ space.
Can you please recommend from your platform a video or create a video of the different positions of the big poses, the port de Bras studies, and an explanation of the pas de bourée Vaganova Method please? I appreciate any help. I was trained in America in professional dance school, and returning to ballet as an adult and mom and I am doing your platform and reading a vaganova text book and would be grateful for guidance.
