- Bhiwandi Bypass is a 26 km long part of NH160 or Mumbai-Nashik Highway. As this highway connects with multiple roads and only road to connect Mumbai to Nashik, always traffic congestion occurs there.
So this 4 lane highway is being widened into a 8-lane highway with 4 lane service roads.

Government should focus on making good highway interchanges.. They are the real chokepoints, doesn't matter how many lanes you have after a certain point.

Very pleasing to see progress happening at such a fast pace. Widening of this Highway will provide relief to the people staying in Kalyan-Dombivli and people travelling to Nashik and beyond as this Highway is also required for reaching the Samruddhi Mahamarg.I hope to see similar progress on the long pending Mumbai-Goa Highway in the coming months.

Expanding existing roads with heavy traffic movement is indeed challenging. It's like performing operation on the body while other body functions are not impacted. one point regarding side by side comparison shots, are today's latest drones have feature of memorizing spatial flight path so that both the videos are in sync frame by frame. That will be interesting!

Why are they not giving an interchange to DME with the Mumbai Nashik highway (NH 160) anywhere in Bhiwandi area? ....
How will the warehousing hub of Bhiwandi get access to both these expressways?
It doesn't make sense to give interchange DME with NH61.

Please go and visit then you can say how much progress has happened. I just went last week. It took 8 hours to reach igatpuri which is actually 2.5 hours drive. The work is happening at snails pace
Can you pls confirm whether mumbai nagpur highway and mumbai nashik highway are same in Bhiwandi Area as i do not see mumbai nagpur highway anywhere in bhiwandi and Nagpur highway will have to pass through Bhiwandi. Also, if this widening project does not complete by monsoon, it gonna bring havoc in city as we all know very well about Traffic of Bhiwandi.

With the virar alibaug corridor connecting to this highway and the Goa highway , hopefully ghodbunder road in Thane will get decongested
There are few issues to be rectified but they are not done so can you show them so that it will help in future for commuters to travel freely. Such as ganesh visargan ghat near kheregaon rati bunder crossing can be avoided if we give or make an underpass on old kheregaon toll plasa
