Gadkari laid foundation stone for this road in 2018, but work not started due to many reasons & even gadkari didn't bother. Finally state govt took this project from NHAI to finish to provide better connectivity for Samruddhi Mahamarg. Gadkari has very less contribution in Maharashtra's latest road work, be it Samruddhi Mahamarg, Atal Setu, Coastal road or this Thane Vadape road widening.
This will really provide better road connectivity between Thane and Kalyan. Then it will be great to have regular public bus service connecting Kalyan to Thane and Mumbai.
Seriously this crossing this road takes too much time during traffic hours, good to see the progress of the work. Looks like it will be completed soon..
Ghodbuder road in Thane requires a road widening. This has resulted in frequent traffic congestion, particularly during nighttime hours, posing potential safety hazards.
They should have make a flyover over the road for uninterrupted traffic from thane to bhiwandi which will ease to the people who have nothing to do with intermediate stop .like Yamuna expressway
Everything goes to wain if people dont learn proper highway driving. Let big trucks occupy right most lane, as they drive in fixed speed for better average. Also they dont have to take exit often. Slow drivers stick to left lane. And long distance car traveller middle lane. But I'm sure newbie drivers will zigzag their way and create havoc for transporters when this project gets completed. 😢
Very informative, and superb graphics. One minor suggestion -- sometimes in stead of saying right side or left side of highway, it would be good to say westbound side or eastbound side, or the equivalent thing in Hindi. It would be good for Indians to develop more precise vocabulary and habits in speaking about directions and locations, and you can play a role in that.
Doesn't this stretch cross the Virar-JNPT spur of DME? Would there be an interchange on the Mumbai-Nashik highway with the DME? I didn't see it in any of the maps/videos.

It's a much-needed upgrade for this route, but the entire patch till Asangaon is currently horrible. During weekends it easily takes 2- 3 hours to reach Asangaon from Thane & vice versa. Hope the struggle every commuter is facing will be worth it after the road gets upgraded. Also, apart from the Bhiwandi city bypass is there any other road one can opt for who is traveling from Mumbai to Nashik?
Govt should allott separate lane for Heavy vehicles ( truck ) in High ways. Only in case of emergency ( accident or so ) other lane truck should be allowed. Traffic problem will be less .
This will be a great help , but will create bottlenecks in thane already bridge in front of vivana is always jammed , on top of it metro 5 work will start in kon gaon which will be a nightmare

Most of infra projects are running behind schedules and no one is paying attention that the delay will add more load and thus existing design may not suffice or solve the future problems
The quality is getting worst at some Chainage, Cracks have occurred within 2-5 months.. and some PQC not happening proper curing... So its getting bumpy ride...
