Wrong info, koyna doesn't have any pumped hydro power plant.
It has 4 stages which are conventional hydro power plant with 1960 MW which makes it India's largest hydro power plant in terms of install capacity

the reason why we need to do survey before starting any project! its sad that those people and the wild life especially the wildlife had to suffer so much!, tho I'm happy about the dam , but those gov people could have done much better work , transporting the existing wildlife to somewhere else , better allocation for people and many such things, but that bhukam thing was nothing short then miracle! thanks to our indian Engineers!

वो तो पूछेंगे ही ना क्योंकि अगर तुम डैम बनाना 1951 में चालू करते हो और 2018 तक उसका काम नही पूरा होता तोह लोग हैं पूछेंगे । तुर्की जैसे छोटे देश ने अपनी देश यूफेरेट्स और तिगरिस नदी पर हमसे भी 3 गुना तेजी से डैम बनाए थे । अतातुर्क डैम मुख्य ढांचा 10 सालो में और बाकी का काम सिर्फ 20 सालो में तैयार करके परियोजना लागू कर दी थी । ठीक इसी तर्ज पर ब्राजील ने काम किया । ये निकम्मापन ही कहा जायेगा ।
