    Lyrics
Good morning mister sunshine, you brighten up my day
Come sit beside me in your way
I see you every morning, outside the restaurants
    The music plays so nonchalant
    Lonely days, lonely nights.
Where would I be without my woman?
    Lonely days, lonely nights.
Where would I be without my woman?
    Lonely days, lonely nights.
Where would I be without my woman?
    Lonely days, lonely nights.
Where would I be without my woman?
    Lonely days, lonely nights
Where would I be without my woman?
Good morning mister sunshine, you brighten up my day
Come sit beside me in your way
    Lonely days, lonely nights
Where would I be without my woman?
    Lonely days, lonely nights
Where would I be without my woman?
    Lonely days, lonely nights
Where would I be without my woman?
    Lonely days, lonely nights
Where would I be without my woman?

Amazing for someone who can't read or write music to be able to get the band to play the songs the way they hear them in their heads.

They were never afraid to experiment, so innovative for the times. They did a lot of orchestral pop. Love early BeeGees ! I had a 68 powder blue, white bucket seats, Barracuda! Loved that car and love the BeeGees! Greenfields is great!

Great reaction as usual! "Lonely Days" is a song with very simple lyrics written when the brothers tried to find their way back to each other after the reunion. "How Can You Mend A Broken Heart" was written at the same time.

One of their classics. And 1 of the 2 songs they wrote on the same day, after they reunited after their 15 month split in 1969.

This reminds me of the Beatles. I had forgotten this one! Thanks for the review. I have been looking for your reaction to "Jive Talkin" which has always been one of my favorites.

There is a Vid of them done in Vegas. The title of it is BeeGees, 'One Night Only'. It has all their songs live on stage. Ya, I got that. Oh, and you need to play 'Jive Talking'.

Great reaction, Jay. This song, along with "How Can You Mend a Broken Heart" were both hits for them after they reunited in 1970. Two major hits both written in one night! "Broken Heart" was released on their 1971 album "Trafalgar" and was their first US #1 hit. Looking forward to your next Bee Gees reaction!

You should try later to catch them live. You get a better feel for the song. This was one of the songs they wrote after they broke up for almost a year in 1970. This and how can you mend a broken heart. A classic masterpiece in my opinion!!!

This is the song that made a Bee Gees fan out of me. I was five years old at the time, and i didn't know about groups or who sang what, etc. I just loved it and I would drop my crayons or my barbies or whatever I was doing and run to the radio and listen to it. I loved the "ghosty" solo piano notes at the beginning, and then this amazing, beautiful harmonies kick in, and the irony was NOT lost on me, the saddest, most melancholy music set to "good morning, Mr. Sunshine! You brighten up my day!" one of my favorite bits that you kind of skipped, after the first uptempo, and the third verse, repeating the lyrics of the first verse, "You brighten up my day, " just really sweet sounding how the cello descends, and the violins ascend. Listen to that bit again. It's so perfect.

Thx a lot! Great reaction to this huge beatlesque song.! But too bad that the soaring outro is too short. Its hugely frustrating cause I always dreamed of a sublime ending like in Hey Jude for example.

This was a HIT and is a CLASSIC!! Not to mention a fan favorite...almost a Bee Gee's "Anthem". 😊

2 Years On is a great album where many songs are written by 1 or 2 of the brothers and a few written by all 3 like this one.
My favorites would be Tell Me Why and Portrait Of Louise.
For some reason I am not really into this one, but you can not deny the diversity of the brothers when they can write something like this.

You have done such a great job of representing The Bee Gees. You know there are dozens more that were ‘popular’ amongst the fan base. Not one like the last. You seemed to like their falsetto. Soldiers and My Lover’s Prayer are really good. The Woman in You is a little less falsetto and a little more power/danceable. Thanks for keeping them on your radar.

Long time since the last reaction 😱. I like this song. I imagine the Group singing in the beach at night, campfire etc. You should watch the video. It represents their reunion after the split

This was such a big hit in America, not so much in the UK as the breakup of the group hurt them in the UK for a couple years until "Run To Me" in 1972. This has been compared to "You Never Give Me Your Money" from the The Beatles' Abbey Road with the change in tempos. The echo on Barry's vocal at the end is an homage to John Lennon.
I'm glad you didn't react to the official video as that uses a raw, alternate take that doesn't sound nearly as good as the released version.

Great reaction! A classic Bee Gees song and their comeback song after their breakup in 1969. The video for it is fun, very 1970’s. I hate Bee Gees covers but Brendon Urie (Panic at the disco) covered it well in 2017 BG’s Grammy tribute. For piano intros please check out Mo’s playing on Seven Seas Symphony or Alone Again

The song has a degree of difficulty, but I must say Panic at the Disco gave a great performance of it at the Bee Gees tribute, in case you want to check it out. There’s also an interesting disco cover version by a female group called Moulon Rouge. Please react to what is actually the bigger hit from the same recording session, HOW CAN YOU MEND A BROKEN HEART. I thought you had reacted to it, but it didn’t come up when I searched. It and Lonely Days were their comeback songs after being broken up for almost 2 years.

Lonely Days was their finale at concerts from the time it was released until around '76 when it was replaced by You Should Be Dancing. This concert from 1973 shows it live starting at 23:50 ruclips.net/video/GX0c9QbzJFY/видео.html

They wrote this song to sound like a Beatles song so DJs would play it and they would get noticed.

    • @theresapillar2093
      @theresapillar2093 2 года назад +2

@@giovannib.9260 I agree, but at the time nobody knew them much yet. So their strategy was if the DJs thought their song was a Beatle song, it would get played. And it worked.

I think the live versions of this song, especially the One Night Only concert tour, are much better. It moves a bit faster and rocks a bit more live than the recorded version.
