Another great video Marshall, thank you! From the gopher in the beginning, to a tour of your property, to your kids playing with the light! (I remember in your earlier videos when we would hear your daughter, as a baby, crying in the background!).
OMG, i just got mine in the mail today from GOING GEAR and WOW !!!!! It is amazing !!! Thanks for this video and how well you explain and show how well the light performs it helped in deciding on my purchucse , but have to say the camera does it no justice of how bright this light really is.
I have one of these inbound for review, I really wish they would invest in a case for it instead of packaging. They have a case for the javelot which is a tactical light which you would never have in a case but not this? I love Olight and think they are the best flashlight maker but the accessories could be better prioritized.
Marshall, you are a luminary. A bright and inviting beacon to the world of light! I constantly enjoy your video reviews and the perspective you share. The effort you put into the community online, at shows and through Going Gear is greatly appreciated and enjoyed! I've been kind of meh about the X7 for whatever reason. Maybe waiting for the X9 that you showed at SHOT show early this year. But now, after this review I give a Hoot and I don't think I can wait. #ThanksMarshall ;)
Nice review. As you said, you might not use the high settings that often but the lower setting run times are extremely useful. I see heat being a big problem though. Even my TM11 is hard to hold in the summer heat of AZ when it's on high for more than a few minutes but also as you mentioned, winter is much better! Currently don't own any Olights but I'm very interested in them now.
Hey Marshall you have an amazing property. Also I'd like to add that this has got to be one of the greatest videos you have ever done and on one of the most amazing flashlights to date. I can certainly understand all the excitement and I'm pretty excited about it myself. I love how this light has no battery carrier. I may have to seriously consider looking at buying one of these 😆
Marshall, I would like to say thank you so much for all your awesome reviews. This one was a bit special, which is perfect for a very very special light. I can wait to purchase it from goinggear.com. Several years ago I grew an interest for the best flashlights I could get my hands on. Thankfully enough, you were there to lead the way, with all your very informative reviews. I know they must be very time consuming to create. So I urge everyone, to please purchase from goinggear to show appreciation, and keep Marshall going with goinggear. :)
Going Gear totally agree cost savings for all. But in my opinion a product that has quality packaging says alot about a company. Kinda like when spending good money on say a Apple product you expect quality packaging. Correct me if I'm wrong so you ship product in plain box ? Not original packaging. Thank you
If it was anywhere near as dry as it has been here in northern De, I'm surprised your lake hasn't been transformed into a mud flat. I had bought several lights from you in 2012-2013, and I remember watching the videos from back then, and it seems your scenery has improved somewhat. I missed the awesome Maglight though! I bet it compares really well against this light....... Its nice that it's got at least 3 really high lumen modes, because you probably don't even need the 5000L & 9000L modes, as 2000L provides a tremendous amount of light. I used to have a Thrunite TN30, and it was crazy bright at 2700L! Anyway, how hot does it get at the 2 top modes after a minute or 2, and how quickly does it get hot?
I have watch lot different flashlight on YT. This Olight X7 win for best nice wide smooth...light and huge bright....I pick TN42 for thrower and Olight X7.
hi wonderful review and a awesome light. But i noticed a really blue tint on your hand when shining at the dok house! is ot reflection from the blue steel ring or that part of the spill is really that bluish on the Olight x7. Thanks and again you make the best reviews :)
I just got a acebeam x80 about 2 weeks ago. I bought it on ebay for $175. I was had it in my back pocket with my keys and the lens cracked. I have never bought directly from you yet. I also was wondering what to do about my M1triton that doesn't work any more and my Xtar D35 which isn't watertight anymore.
If the intensity claimed (on the box) is 313m or 342 yards or 1027 feet, why do I see little to nothing past the 100 yard target even in turbo s mode?? I was all set to buy one of these expecting I could see the predatory nightlife my GP is barking at a good distance away. Apparently not so. It would seem the actual is only 1/3 the claimed. At 100 yards, it would be shy of the edge of the woods closest to the barn let alone the fields to the sides. I should add - very good review!
Bruce Alvarez This not a long distance light. If it's rated for 300 meters, then 300 feet is about the real world usable distance. So if you want to see out to 500 feet, look for a light with 500 meters throw.
Is there a difference between xhp 70 and xhp 70.2's I just bought a flashlight that has three LEDs that is 18000 lumens the lumen top GT3 which is the same size as the olight the luman top has three xhp 70.2 LEDs
Hi!...I could use NL1835 HP nitecore batteries with the Marauder X7 and extract all the power? I can live without the Turbo and TurboS modes. I'm more concern about High Mode. 3000-1800 lumens
Thanks for the whole review and comparison, Marshall. Tomorrow's technology today! But this makes me ask: just how much light is too much light? The one thing I dislike is that there's no low level between 20 and 120 lumens. 300lm is dazzlingly bright when indoors even for those not on the business end, and I speak from experience, heh. Otherwise, I think it's a neat proof of concept and a great camera desaturator (note the dramatic loss of color when you activated Turbo S). I've got a bit of a backlog, so I'm leaving my thoughts here. Peace out and good luck with the store!
Also, thanks for showing us where the long-distance test magic happens! Makes me figure the distances better and take the lights' throw far more seriously.
Can you advise specifically which 18650 battery will run Turbo s? I am using the standard Olight 18650 3400 version and it won't get it even fully charged
Great review. I have a question for you. A few years back I purchased the Nitecore TM11 from you guys. Great little powerful light. My only complaint is that at 2000 lumens, after a couple of minutes the light is literally to hot to hold. I can't imagine what anything over that must feel like. Has this been addressed in these newer models?
Hi Marshall. Could you put up some links to the Olight IMR batteries at GoingGear.COM? I would like to ensure that I am buying the right batteries to get at the 9000 lumens. Thank you!
I really wish Olight would make an X7-UT with deeper reflectors to compete with the IMALENT DT70. I refuse to buy an IMALENT due to their build quality, quality control and non existent/useless returns department but it's sad there's nothing out there that competes with it.

Great light, and I enjoyed the tour. You make by far the best flashlight reviews on RUclips Marshall, thanks!
Another great video Marshall, thank you! From the gopher in the beginning, to a tour of your property, to your kids playing with the light! (I remember in your earlier videos when we would hear your daughter, as a baby, crying in the background!).

They should've called this thing the super saiyan light, because it's power level is OVER 9000.
yeahhhhh
it only last 2.5 minute at super saiyan level
17 olights and counting, just love em
IMO, this is the best video you've ever done. That said, I will be ordering the X7 from you in the next couple of weeks
For sure. Loved the little walk thru the grove and the talk about using this star.
The walk thru was great! Marshall's got a beautiful piece of property. My house is on a 50' by 125' plot. Am I jealous? YES!! lol!
just when I thought I was happy with 3000 lumens....now you show me this beast! I must get one
Thanks for showing us around! I enjoyed that part!
Looking forward to Olight to manufacture the flashlight with the same size bit with great throw like the Acebeam 70 ,if not even better.

like the grove walk, just got one of these, and it is as described

all ready pre-ordered!
Thanks for the video and also thanks for shipping one all the way to Norway for me :-)
We would like to see X7 versus thrunite tn 36 ut. Great video.
the dog is really enthused about the light ( saber)
I'm drooling over this. Too bad I'm too crippled up to even leave the house anymore. :(
sucks man. Hope things are turning around for you.
very well covered video. good job for that. would love to see a side by side outside comparison of the x7 vs. olight h35.... please
well done...
can't tell you how helpful these info videos are...
keep up the great work...
good luck with kids, classic end...
23:40 - That would scare the crap out of me, if there was suddenly a Sootch special appearance in this video :D

Someone should make a 3' long traffic cone to go on the end... you know for light saber fun.
Ordered one from your website :D
Great informative video's in your opinion out of all the flashlights you carry which one you say has the best packaging. Thanks for sharing.

Is something wrong with your SR96? In the video it didn't even look as bright as the SRmini2. Great video, thanks for sharing more than usual.
I have watch lot different flashlight on YT. This Olight X7 win for best nice wide smooth...light and huge bright....I pick TN42 for thrower and Olight X7.

Great review Marshall, thank you for the good work. With respect from Russia.
oh Suunto Traverse Alpha, nice watch
Sweet flashlight!
i don't know what's the purpose of that white small rubber around the neck of x7
Is it fair to say that I should now forget about getting an Olight SR96?
Hi Marshall! great review, would you say this is the best flashlight which provides distance and flood? if not what is?
cheers.
Hallo,
Compare vs Acebeam K70 (1200m) vs FF4 65w(1500m) vs Thrunite Tn42 (1550m) vs Thrunite Tn40(1100m) ??? Video Pls...

Are you going to make a video on the Olight S1R?
Why no Lanyard or spare O Rings ?
Does this X7 can be had with lanyard. I need this for inspection and need to use this when climbing.
are you better to use protection or unprotected batteries
Olight makes awesome lights. My experience with their customer service (not responsive at all) was extremely disappointing.
Very very cool!
Olá moro no Brasil como fasu para comprar uma dessas ai

True, true. I don't have a torch _this_ floody, all of mine with a 300lm mode have considerable candela-per-lumen ratios.
Can you use 9k lumen longer in cold weather beside 2mins?
can it be seen from the ISS
Are there bike mounts for lights like these?
could you please do a review of the Armytek Wizard Pro v3 XHP-50 really thinking about ordering one but can't find any good videos on it
Looking at getting this light, which one would you recommend cool white or neutral white?
Can you advise specifically which 18650 battery will run Turbo s? I am using the standard Olight 18650 3400 version and it won't get it even fully charged
mükemmel yaa kaç para bu..how money ?
how does this compare to the thrunite tn36 ut
Great video. What camera did you use to make this video? = )
WOW!!! A windshield melter
know if it can light paper on fire?
Two thumbs up! (as Sootch would say) But what American made lights would you recommend?
***** Thank you!
Great review. I have a question for you. A few years back I purchased the Nitecore TM11 from you guys. Great little powerful light. jr10 Yes, there is protective circuitry that drops the output when a certain temperature is reached.
I wonder if wearing one on the back of you head will keep the predators from jumping on your back.
You can also boil water with it
Styrofoam is also no match for the X7. i.imgur.com/PT6HQfi.jpg
i still love my Neutralwhite Version of this Baby
again this does not have a lanerd ,.that is a must when some one trips the first thing to go is the flashlight.

Hi Marshall. Could you put up some links to the Olight IMR batteries at GoingGear.COM? I would like to ensure that I am buying the right batteries to get at the 9000 lumens. Thank you!
I should just learn how to read. Thanks :)
Crenulated bezel and tripod mount would be nice.
Not so sure the bezel. Mount, definitely. Lots of photographers and amateur video makers would benefit like crazy from this mini star.
At worst I imagine someone can come up with a billet ring that clamps on the light with a tripod thread.
It's not much use for photo/video with such a low CRI. B/W perhaps.
Until/unless Sky Lumen has a modded version with better CRI.
I called this BFG 9000
Hi Marshal,
which would u prefer , TM16 or olight X7 9000 lumen ? I'm trying to decide between the two
got it, as of now is there any flashlight better than TM16 for a mix of focused beam and spilled ?
I really wish Olight would make an X7-UT with deeper reflectors to compete with the IMALENT DT70. I refuse to buy an IMALENT due to their build quality, quality control and non existent/useless returns department but it's sad there's nothing out there that competes with it.
You seem pretty giddy about this one, Marshall.
Manker mk34 when please ...
Ok thanks
You never say what the flaslight body-shell is made of but I guess it is obviously plastic.
Oh that is really great sign me up for one please!
沒有想像中那麼泛光
Which is better Felix TK75 or this?
Going Gear best run times?
the tree will catch fire!!!
whatever happened to 4sevens????
Weren't providing features and quality up to the price. Barely hanging on nowadays.
***** no new products no innovation
I'm just waiting for a Bigfoot to pop out behind the trees.
I think you need the Sony fdr-ax53 camcorder with BOSS.
When will it be in stock? :)
Excellent! Thanks for the reply!
Going Gear You guys are saying it's a pre order and you're still waiting on your first shipment?
Going Gear Cool! Sorry, I'm too geeked to see this light!
Man I'm got this light and got there 3600 mAh batter that is a high drane cell and doesn't give me turbo s for some reason any help plz?👌
Going Gear ok thanks man👍
I feel the user manual is too small print and flimsy. I get someone to read it for me.
"Nutnfancy" (watch his channel to see what I mean) camera angel, no shame in this dudes game.
9k lumens, but at what cost? 2.5 minutes run time ain't gonna do you any good.
Dang...do we need to Talk about the box... ?
:-) ... just messing with ya
I thought GRIZZLY ADAMS was doing the review when I started the video !!!
How did you die bro?
such a joke the SR96 (3 years old) can be charged with one hi cap battery that can be plugged in and this has the crappy outdated battery swap out.
You should hold it under the lake and see if it will ulluminate the lake!
overkill
How is it overkill? 9000 lumens at 23,000 candela? Have you seen the Acebeam X45? It's twice as bright and has 70,000 candela.
Nitecore is better
