Stephen Morris does not get the praise he deserves for his drumming. Absolutely BRILLIANT!!!
Plus he's pretty much the only band member who sometimes smiles during shows!
The human drum machine
Or writing the lyrics to this.
Iam actually reading Stephem Morris's 2nd book whilst listening to this. Fast Forward. Confessions Of A Postpunk Percussionist Volume 2, after finishing his 1st book, Record, Play Pause. Which is Volume 1. Its great to read about the great times and he keeps the sad part still quite jovial and is really quite humorous and a must for any Joy Division or New Order fans. All the best from Lancashire. Uk.
@@topshot2787 cheers mate
Early new order is really something else, just so melancholic
Morris IS the best drummer from punk/new wave era! Amazing how much faster he is live!
I would say that Stewart Copeland is the best, but Stephen Morris is a damn great one!
They were a glorious shambles sometimes. Bernard looks so out of it.
One of their most underrated tracks.
The bass and the life of Procession epic.
The best bass i ever see in my life
New Order is definitely in my top 3 all time favorite bands…
1. The Smiths / Morrissey
2. The Cure
3. Joy Division / New Order
No Joy Division? :)
@@painbringer75 updated :)
The Smiths on top? Well...
I'd put New Order first back in the day. During those times, I would have had Skinny Puppy and Front 242 in heavy rotation too.
Idk everything after PCL is meh. So they got like 2 or 3 good albums for me so I can't rate them above the cure ect... though almost everything before pcl is really great procession chosen time ect...
Saw them at the Plaza Ballroom in Eglinton Toll Glasgow around the same time. Totally surreal and magickal.
Saw them September 1980 in NYC. As a trio. First NY appearance...
This was their golden era.
@@darkglobe13 After they had all equipment stolen?
i seen em at Pato"s Balrroom Liverpool back in the day. Good times x
Happy 40th birthday "movement"
My favourite New Order track.....on the record Hannetts genius lifts the song to something magical!
Substance on vinyl, make it so mr sumner 😜
Ian would’ve sang something similar to this by 81.
Hooky is so cool.
I saw them in Australia after years of being a fan and they were terrible. I don’t care, I forgive them forever.
the worse a new order show is, the more enjoyable it is😂
one of my favourite songs ever
This is sick af. Idgaf how drunk bernie is this shit is raw af most of them still grieving Ian as well. Out there performing and trying to find an identity at the same time. Timeless and fucking jams. Oh yeah and hooky and Morris just killing it. Would love to have heard a Morris and hooky instrumental album if it would be anything like movement Era then that would be some good listening.
Bernie was drunk during that gig?
@@A.A11632Bernie was always drunk and probably off other drugs during new order
best new order era
I love this and everything else from this show as much as I did during my teen years in the 80's. It's really great to come back to this music and find it as vital and stirring as ever as well as being able to tap into this stripped back, more raw music, less cluttered and without so much slick production although still quite cultured and erudite.
No hooky no new order
You can tell Bernard is still recovering from Ian’s death in this performance-meanwhile I’m doing the Ian Curtis dance to this
Sounds just as good 42 years later ❤
I like new order!!!!! 🤩
Listen more- can't help but love New Order. Dance music with deeper lyrics and sorrow.
YEEEEEEEEH PROCESSION!!
I believe the Rolling Stones played in NYC Madison square garden the same night as this show! ,,what a tight competition!! I love both bands.
Wish i can hear this live at those times, what an era of music this was !
Love this song and it’s energy!
PICTURE IAN SINGING WITH BETTER LYRICS
That music must be performed at the New Order's concerts. Can you imagine Bernard singing "Procession" currently?
I couldn't imagine them performing it without Hook. I just wouldn't be the same.
Perfect for pathos, New Order's Procession is worthy of late night drinking in the full face of a pallid moon.
So wat von GEIL!!
Masterpiece
If you slow it down. Drum 🥁🪘🛢beat sounds like passover
Procession moves on…
Never heard of the venue. This is way before my time.
Great!!!
Amazing ✨
Fantastic.
Hello , Hello 👋
Destroyed it! The ending was great
Fabulous
He is sloshed!!!
The only way he was able to perform in the early years
Really great song. It was not included on final release of Movement. Kept on single. But in demo version if Movement (without Hannett's influence) Procession was there along with some other song like Homeage and so.
