Alice in borderland was so underrated... So many takeaways so many mysteries so deep.. character designs and the games design are all amazing.. it's way better than Many series in Netflix.. not sure why it's so underated... Maybe it didn't get marketed/published well for more viewers..

I wonder whether Asahi actually knew ahead of time that Momoka was the witch, even if they were both game dealers. Wouldn't put it past the powers that be to be vague, and only tell her something like, "A body will appear in the main entryway of the Beach at this time," just to make sure her reaction is extra believable when she discovers her best friend's body. For all she knew, the game masters could've secretly planted another dealer whose job was to kill Momoka, or even just whoever happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
The scene Aguni screamed was so sad.
Sucks that AiB didn't get as much popularity as Squid game. Both series were incredibly unique and fresh!

I knew she killed herself as soon as the game started! Because it's a heart game. My thought was that of course its meant to the turn the masses on each other. What if the solution was simple and all they had to do was burn the ALREADY dead body? They had nothing to lose by starting there in the first place.

i like alice in borderland more than squidgame maybe because i watched aib first but idk everything in squidgame is very predictable lol and kind of boring.

So the official take is they like it less than squid games. Never thought the comparison was fair given dramas that are realistic and deal with human emotion Are usually seen as more mature and worth more praise godfather breaking bad etc vs just as good stuff with more over the top twist and turns with fantasy. By default people will say dark knight is better than all marvel films but have way more fun with infinity war than dark night but the serious core and acting isn’t the main point. AIB is meant to thrill more than some dramatic fight in the rain. So I get why they like squid games more. Could also be first come bias. People still like Naruto more than a ton of shows that on paper do Naruto with more. Nostalgia and stuff helps. Hope they break down why squid is better cause many said AIB was peak when squid got big. Also unfair due to AIB working out a plot in 2 seasons unlike squid that is meant to show its hand as a short show and got more eps cause popularity
It’s like people who say cyberpunk edgerunners beats Chainsawman but Chainsawman is showing a portion of its plot so it’s more spread vs an easier main theme in a short time one and done. The other thing works too. One piece seems way better than most shows but it had 1000 eps to get there vs other shows with 30 or something.
That and because people set too much expectations coming into it.
@@raec5426 Yeah, people for example call Demon slayer trash constantly like they have a obsession with telling people they continue to watch a show they hate. But we forget the show only has about half a hundred eps...in like 50 eps some arcs of one piece don't even finish. Bleach didn't finish the big arc, naruto had a war go on for what equates to the entirety of demon slayer...we don't give things time to cook anymore and rush to say MID if something isn't mind-blowingly original or whatever dumb criteria for it to be okay to say you like a popular series. The worst is when people say carried by insert one big quality that makes a thing. Like saying take away all the wonder and magic and harrypotter is just slice of life in school. Plenty of shows exist like Harrypotter, there's more to it than just carried by one thing...same with all popular work. guess I'm just saying, discourse on media sucks today, just mostly negative and hot takes.
The dramatic final fight in Squid Game, and all the other games, are nothing compare to the games we've seen in AiB IMO. That last fight with the king of spades was insane, the choreography, the way the soundtrack just stopped, everyone getting knocked down, perfect.
Besides, I think AiB is much more mature when it comes to the moral of the story, I mean, of course Squid Game is more realistic in way of what could really happen (it is more likely that a bunch of rich people build a whole project of death games to entertain themselves than a world in which you go when your heart stop to play for your life), but in AiB they want you to think, reflect about the games and the real society of now. A good example of this is the king of diamonds game.

Sadly I can only watch one with my buddies and popularity always wins so they will likely watch squid games first and trash on AIB due to you guessed it, it being too weird/less serious or down to earth/melodrama vs drama. Strukbybelz liked Squid games more too, so there's no telling. I just got a general idea of both shows watching reactions, but you know you look away and don't pay close attention so you can still watch the shows and enjoy them.
