      @@immanuelhermon Well, my phone with a crack is a second one. First one fell on a floor screen down. Didn't have a single scratch but frontal camera broke. Gladly store agreed to repair or replace device on warranty. Also, several years ago I accidentally dropped company's iPhone 4s on my work and its screen was completely shattered. Thing is that you can be simply unlucky and get your phone completely destroyed with falling from one height yet in similar circumstances, other phone will be fine and not get a single scratch. I even managed to destroy a screen on the Nokia phone. This was last non-"smartphone" I ever used btw. Phone was inside its sleeve inside of the winter jacket. And its matrix was completely destroyed. Yet at the same time Samsung Tablet I had during that fall (I t was in the winter in the early morning and there was a ton of ice) didn't get a single scratch. So my luck with phones is VERY weird.

    The Sony Xperia pro and mini pro also have sliding keyboards but they are much older.
    The mini pro was my first Smartphone, such a cool phone.

    P.S. I have a Galaxy S4 that is still on Adnroid 4.2, should I upgrade it to 5.0 or leave it on 4.2? there is no app support at all on 4.2 but 5.0 might affect performance?

    • @itsbriarwallace
      @itsbriarwallace 3 года назад +1

      You’d get almost everything from iFixit. They sell all the tools and parts you’ll need, and they also have tutorials on how to fix stuff. To get started, you’d probably want to start with older devices. Newer ones require more skill. Maybe try an iPhone 5 or something?

    • @DrVaults
      @DrVaults 3 года назад +1

      Oh also Hugh when you get the priv working and you go to use it make sure you buy a case for it. The heat from your hands heats up the processor in it and it drains the battery something fierce. I put a case on mine and it works perfect with no heating issues. Just a friendly tip!

    Blackberry Priv isn't the only Android slider smartphone. Take a look at the Motorola Milestone (DROID in the US) lineup. the Milestone 3 and 4 are pretty neat sliders, albeit old.

    You can separate the samsung s4 shattered glass easily and then just glue a new one in place.
    I just replaced the glass on one, few years ago.
    Heat it, and then slide a plastic play cards between the display and broken glass. Only be careful when you reach the bottom buttons to separate them with care.
    Then i just applied some glue on the sides, not on the entire display. And it works till this day.
    There are videos on yt.
    You can get a better price for it then.

    Xiaomi A1 is a good phone, it was the first phone I bought for my 12 year old son. They usually have a problem with the charging port. The welds are not very good, and the charging port tends to shift. After almost 2 years it stooped charging. I sent it back (in Europe we have a 2 year warranty policy), and I think they just solder it back. After the warranty was over it broke again🤔. I went online and bought the charging board that houses the charging port and the audio jack, replaced it and problem solved. Still works today but now he a Samsung A71.
