The irony. If folic acid wasn't put in processed food, this wouldn't be an issue.

In just a few seconds you just gave me the info I've been searching months for! I have low folate and keep having issues (anxiety, pain, etc) with the prescribed folic acid. I'm very familiar with his subject but everyone kept telling me there is no relation. They say I don't need the methylfolate version, but I'm doing it anyway! Can't hurt. Thank you for spreading awareness ❤️

if your doctor prescribed it, then you need to back to him and ask if he is even aware of the difference btw folic acid and methylfolate. it's all over the internet, even non-doctors know about this.

I have to take methylfolate because of mthfr gene mutations because I have small fiber neuropathy because of it and vitamin B6 toxicity. I was taking metanx then found a prenatal postnatal vitamin with it in there more affordable when I got pregnant. I had started forgetting to take it and confused if I've taken it or not so I stopped taking all together

I’m taking the Methyl B Complex supplement, but will it also metabolize the folic acid stores from previously consuming synthetic folic acid supplements and foods enriched with folic acid? How do I go about detoxifying my body of folic acid? Thanks in advance.

I take chlorella daily which has many b vitamins etc in it. Do I still need a bcomplex supplement daily? I feel overwhelmed trying to treat this mutation. Every treatment given to me previously made me worse because it was not tested for so folic acid, birth control, sulphasalazine etc all made me horrible unwell to the point I refuse to go back to a doctor as I feel traumatised. Do you think there is sufficient amounts in a green juice like chlorella?
My son has similar symptoms to me too and I can't find a supplement for him

    • @drrajsree

    • @drrajsree

    • @drrajsree

Sorry to hear this. You might want to try Adenosyl/ Hydroxy B12. Sometimes it is better tolerated in those who get anxious from methyl B12.

Due to the MTHFR mutation which is present in 50% of the population, folic acid can't be converted to the active form which is methylfolate.
