What people don't realize is that Allen Iverson had the biggest effect on the league since Jordan retired......they even made a rule where players have to show up to games in a suit because of A.I., and that's not even mentioning how popular he made the sleeve and headband......hell Iverson started the cornrow trend too in the league.....if you go back to Iverson's era, I bet their was at least 2 dudes on every team with braids.....

Thank you AI for all of the great years you gave us, we truly miss see you playing. I wouldn't be exaggerating if I said Iverson revolutionized the point guard role on the court and influenced the next generation of point guards (D-Rose, CP, Rondo, John Wall...etc) to play the way they do nowadays.
Iverson had such tenacity no one could level up to. He would penetrate against huge guys without the slightest brink of hesitation or fear. Damn he has like a million injuries because of that.

I used to be a soccer player from 3th grade to 9th grade. I started playing basketball at highschool, but I don't really like it that much. I thought back then basketball is a sport that made specifically for tall and big people, until I watched this guy Allen Iverson, that's when I really get into basketball and looking for his videos. This guy was just so much fun to watch back then, I never see anybody play like him or even similar. Everytime he had ball in his hand, I just can't wait to see what this guy gonna do next, he just full of creativity. He is small, but very agile with amazing ball handling and quickness, his playstyle is like he is the only soccer player in basketball court moving in different level of speed. He is truly an inspiration for this generation, especially with player like Derrick Rose, Dwayne Wade, Chris Paul, Irving, John wall and most NBA guards that inspired by his offensive style. NBA is so lucky to have him, so does every basketball fan in the world.

Him and Steve Nash are the best players to never win a ring. Allen is my favorite player ever. I'm only 15 so I never saw him play but it's crazy that I respect him more than I do LeBron or Dwayne Wade (nothing against them, they're amazing.) Just the moves, the layups, the shots, it was all so perfect. To those who say he ruined the game with the crossover, blame Dr. J for doing the Free Throw Line Dunk. That's when the NBA "became different".

THE FUCKING MAN!!!! I'll never forget watching him play when I was a kid...such a fearless competitor...for a long time he was the best player in the league...there was a time when Kobe was in his shadows....Vince, Tmac, Pierce all of them, he was leading the way. Major respect for Iverson I can't imagine deserving to have your number retired anymore than he has

Real talk one of the most unique players in nba history. A barely 6'0 dude who weighed 160 pounds was the number 1 pick in the draft. Scored nearly 30 ppg for most of his career until has later years dropped his averages. Crazy, you would have never guessed he was one of the most elite scorers in NBA history just standing next to him.

This legend right here, brought me to play and love basketball 7 years ago. I remember seeing his cool name (Come on, guys. Iverson is as cool a surname as one can possibly get) on pages of the newspaper everytime a game was on. Those cornrows, arm sleeves, headbands and watery eyes. Wearing the jersey with the starry 'Sixers' word across his chest like it was fashionable. Then, when I wanted to start learning how to play ball for real, the first RUclips video that mesmerized me was with all those KILLA crossovers playing along with the R.Kelly song - World's Greatest. That right there, ignited my passion for the sport. When I finally got into my school team, I wore the No. 3. Followed him every single game, wanting him to do well daily and most importantly, win a championship. I was so sad when he left the NBA to play in Turkey. The league didn't do him justice for playing so hard and courageous the past couple of seasons.
To me, The Answer will forever be the best. Mentioned along with Dr. J, Sir Charles, Moses Malone, Mo Cheeks, Bobby Jones? Come on A.I., THEY should feel lucky being mentioned along with YOU.
And also, a big shoutout to Pennyccw. Best A.I. fan with thousands of video highlights shared to us fellow fans. I betcha, you will forever be associated on RUclips with that great man. Thanks!

I'm not a basketball guy but I was when allen iverson was a 76er. I loved the guys fearless on the court, he never give up and give it his all. That's who I am as a competitor and that's why I loved him and Brian dawkins. I don't watch much basketball anymore since he no longer plays. Thank you for everything you did for us.

Bruce Deng the man averaged 26 points over 14 seasons he led the league in assists 3 times won an mvp led a team with nobody but him to the finals has more seasons averaging 30+ points a game than MJ kobe and Lebron (so far) not to mention he was a 6 ft Sooting guard not a point guard. he had to guard sg who were 6 ft 6 and is pound for pound the greatest to ever play the game.
HE DESERVES TO HAVE HIS NUMBER RETIRED FOR ALL OF THE NBA!!!!!!

Magic, Barkley, Karl Malone, Drexler, Robinson, Ewing, Hakeem, Isaiah Thomas, where all really athletic players but compared to Jordan they weren't. If you're saying bench players now are as athletic as MJ you're crazy, I don't see bench players doing MJ's dunks, they called him "Air Jordan" for a reason and most bench players today or even elite players don't have the hops and hang time Jordan had. You're a fail as a troll
