Wade and LeBron still played through their contracts before going somewhere else as "FREE AGENTS" Butler still under contract 1+1, so disappointed with him.
Any player that publicly says they want out of playing for a team under the contract they both signed. Should allow the new team to dismiss the current contract and write another one. So then he's gonna force his way out from a team he aint even signed with yet. hahaha. Ya like loser premadonnas way way to much.
As a Heat fan, Butler put effort in his first year by taking us to the Finals & playing his heart out. Second year was disappointing, third year was great, despite the game 7 loss, & the first round vs the Bucks the following year was fantastic. After that series, however, the Monstars suddenly took his talents lol he wasn’t even the third best player on the team. He’s played less than 60 games a season a few times since he arrived & has underwhelmed half the time. I think it’s time for a change of scenery.
That one I didn't like, but otherwise it's a hard decision to pay him $180 M in 3 years. I guess they were hoping to get Damian but couldn't afford Damian. @@denniszenanywhere It’s not a hard decision. With today’s medicine and recovery players are extending their primes. Pat Riley (in my mind) represents that old mafia archetype. I think he let Wade go because Wade's best friend put the org in an awkward spot and ruined everything. Only player he kept was Bosh who ended retiring from a heart murmer.
He needs to move his old ass around behaving like fake movie characters. He messed up the heats chance of getting a ring by not getting Jimmy help these last 4 years.
@chuckk2fuego76 NOT TRUE! They lost Gabe Vincent and Caleb Martin to FA , they payed Tyler all that money, Duncan Robinson regressed, I wouldn't have signed Kyle Lowrie (lol) they've made moves and drafted and developed players . They signed K Love. They're too competitive to tank and not good enough to win it all. Stuck in mediocrity
I know what he means by not wanting to be in the corner in Miami, but he's not gonna be first option in any of the teams his agent listed as his preferred choice. Maybe Warriors with Steph and Dennis would be ideal, he'd be a good older leader at Houston, Phoenix are a bit dysfunctional and too top heavy. Lastly the Mavs are already really good, but he'd be third maybe even fourth to PJ unless he locks in on defence.
@@reckon7457 It wouldn't make any sense at the Mavs in terms of spacing and overall fit imo. He's gotta accept a spot up shooting and D role cause Mavs have 2 of the best ball handlers in the sport. @@aryamanmani4025 It would work if Mavs doesn't have Klay or if they trade him for Butler which i doubt will happen because they probably promised Klay they would have him in the roster to try for a championship run. The Heat tried to get greedy and overplayed their hand waiting out the Dame Lillard situation because they had leverage knowing Dame wanted to be there.. Instead of just trading the package the Blazers wanted. Instead Dame went to Milwaukee and the rest is history. We will never know how Butler and Dame would have played together.

Jimmy has always been a defensive first player who handles pressure extremely well. He has never been a consistent go to scorer, just a go to facilitator. Ideally he needs someone to carry the load the first 3 quarters offensively for him so he can show up in the 4th and take over
This is absolute facts, he’s not a 1a. 1a guys are players like LeBron, steph, kd, Giannis, etc. that’s never been Jimmy and it’s showed these past few years

@ajbased44 just think about it. This season is a loss for NOLA. They'll probably have a top 5 pick in the draft. Say they get dylan harper with the pick. With Jimmy's contract and declining production, he's going to end up on some garbage ass team that wants to use his name to spark ticket sales. He's not going to a contender whatsoever.
chuck is spot on. pretty cut and dry situation that seems way more cloudy from the outside. pat riley and jimmy butler are two egos going head to head at this point, using headlines as ammo.
It wasn’t the injuries but his play. Klay regressed because of those injuries. Lonzo has been injured for the entirety of the last 2 years and if he comes back and plays to the level he’s been before then he’s not going to miss a beat when it comes to a contract. Klay regressed and was getting old. Jimmy is regressing and is getting old.
Butler is being paid handsomely to do his best plus has an option for one more year. This is one of several reasons people are turning the channel. NBA players whining about their team. if you want flexibility sign one year deals. The fact he is quitting on this team is so unprofessional.
Players are just looking for teams that let them be dawgs against the will of Adam silver. Also these super max contracts always end up hurting teams in the end. The ratings aren’t adding up to these salarys
Not a Butler fan but you can hardly call the man unprofessional. Two tours as a Thibs soldier and then Miami? He's given his body to his employers, given them everything. He wants an extension. Riley won't give him one. So he needs to get traded. Public trade demands make this easier, and please note it was Miami who made this trade request public, and it's Miami who has suspended him.
The way the conversation surrounding Butler and how the Heat supposedly screwed him has thrown so much disrespect on Bam and Herro’s names, it’s actually insane. Bam is quite possibly top 15 in the league and people are acting like he’s a scrub. Everyone’s acting like Butler is playing with a team of scrubs, like he isn’t playing with Tyler Herro, Bam Adebayo, a deep bench, and arguably the best coach working right now in Erik Spoelstra. Add to this a max contract and the fact the front office has basically let him make his own schedule without ANY repercussions… What does Jimmy Butler need for you guys to be satisfied? Maybe Riley can literally sacrifice the bench to Satan himself to get Jokic and SGA in a blockbuster trade with the underworld. I swear, some people are slow.
Jimmy played his ass off and carried that mediocre team to DEEP playoff runs multiple years out of sheer will power. The Heat org has made way more money from those playoff runs than they deserved, Jimmy should be getting some of that money

Jimmy misses to many games and when they needed him in the post season last yr… he wasn’t available
I could be wrong, but when jimmy was gutta, grudgy player, he was the man. But soon as he started rocking the purses and perms, he turned a little bratty. Miami always been a up and down team. They had wade and LeBron and still lost games badly. Jimmy rather wear perms, purses and show his feminine side than be that hard noise player he use to be. NBA players are living a lottery life style every day. You can actually decide who you want to be, especially if you’re healthy, no drugs or sloppy women. No excuses when you’re blessed with the best of the best opportunities.

So many teams have added help and addressed needs and Jimmy Butler gave Miami a lot. Free that man
As a Heat fan, Butler put effort in his first year by taking us to the Finals & playing his heart out.
All I know is the Jimmy Buckets deserves more respect

That one I didn't like, but otherwise it's a hard decision to pay him $180 M in 3 years. I guess they were hoping to get Damian but couldn't afford Damian. Some players sacrifice pay to get a championship but others would rather choose money. Can someone tell me who sacrificed pay for a championship? Serious question.
@@denniszenanywhere It’s not a hard decision. With today’s medicine and recovery players are extending their primes. Jimmy can still perform at a high level at 38 with his body maintenance and play style. He’s never really been an above the rim player so regressing athleticism isn’t really a concern. He gets his in the midrange and around the basket. You can’t find another player with his mix of qualities that isn’t already a max player.
He'd be 3rd in the Mavs just behind Kyrie and Luka. Pat might ask too mich though to the point the trade will fall off.
Hope he comes to GSW
@@reckon7457 It wouldn't make any sense at the Mavs in terms of spacing and overall fit imo. He's gotta accept a spot up shooting and D role cause Mavs have 2 of the best ball handlers in the sport. Jimmy has always been a defensive first player who handles pressure extremely well. He has never been a consistent go to scorer, just a go to facilitator. Ideally he needs someone to carry the load the first 3 quarters offensively for him so he can show up in the 4th and take over

chuck is spot on. pretty cut and dry situation that seems way more cloudy from the outside. pat riley and jimmy butler are two egos going head to head at this point, using headlines as ammo.
Charles Barkley is never right. It's not the same as Klay Thompson at all. Thompson was coming off of TWO major injuries.
@joeasuncion2891 daaaaa.... thus it was the two injuries.

$55M for a 35yr old not getting big numbers
The way the conversation surrounding Butler and how the Heat supposedly screwed him has thrown so much disrespect on Bam and Herro’s names, it’s actually insane.
Bam is quite possibly top 15 in the league and people are acting like he’s a scrub. Everyone’s acting like Butler is playing with a team of scrubs, like he isn’t playing with Tyler Herro, Bam Adebayo, a deep bench, and arguably the best coach working right now in Erik Spoelstra. Add to this a max contract and the fact the front office has basically let him make his own schedule without ANY repercussions…
What does Jimmy Butler need for you guys to be satisfied? Maybe Riley can literally sacrifice the bench to Satan himself to get Jokic and SGA in a blockbuster trade with the underworld. I swear, some people are slow.
Jimmy played his ass off and carried that mediocre team to DEEP playoff runs multiple years out of sheer will power. The Heat org has made way more money from those playoff runs than they deserved, Jimmy should be getting some of that money
