    Minor error in the video, the Wand Chaval Melm didn't drop until later in 2019 as 15* weapons weren't introduced at that time yet.
    The first set of 15* weapons came with the Dark Falz Persona Urgent Quest, it were the Trailblazer, Atlas Ex and Ophistia weapons.

    Great video as always! I completely forgot about Simple Compound Techs! When you started running around Kvaris with your black wings, it made me think of Re Barantsia and I really miss it. The wings reminded me of that beautiful feeling of flying around and mindlessly killing mobs lol

    I feel that NGS should recieve more techniques to make Force, Techter, and Jet Boots Bouncer more versatile and flexible with capabilites of casting techniques. When i experienced Base pso2 for the first time a couple of years ago I was over the moon with the variety of techniques available in the game including resta, and Anti. and have been having fun with chaining lightning through a certain Zonde technique!

    • @Cathy5614
      @Cathy5614  Год назад +1

      Technique gameplay really isn't very great right now, I agree. It's probably why people enjoy Techter more. We have mechanics like Photonic Furies, Photon Arts, Revoke Pursuit, Compound Techniques and their elemental follow-ups. Force only has Techniques and Compound Techniques and half of those Techniques are for groups of enemies and not single target so really its just 1 button per element. It's cool that a lot of them behave differently depending on if you charge them or not but even in that scenario you only have 2 techniques at best which just ends up being very monotonous.

      I think theyre doing a fine Job since the NGS overhaul. PSO2 on the other hand, im not entirely sure they knew how their damage values worked. Techter was always a mess to Theorize about due to requiring different stats and damage multipliers etc. I believe thats why Gunblade ended up being the better weapon in the end.

    Thank you for this video! It kinda reminded me of all the good and bad times I had when playing Techer, but somehow, through it all, it was still fun, even when we had to do things like gather 6 different wands =) The current NGS iteration of Techer is quite different from how it was originally and even from its final state in vanilla pso2 but it is a lot of fun and even though we're still few in number, we're going strong. Here's to 10 more years!

    This was a nice trip down memory lane, thanks. I've been a Techter main since I made my Deuman with Episode 2's release(which is about when I gave up on the global release happening). We've sure been through a lot huh? Here's a fun bit of information from a long time ago. TE/BR was a somewhat popular build in episode 3 due to a bow having the unique properties of being equippable by techter and have a potential that increased damage to an enemy's weak element. I believe the strat was to use Banishing Arrow, and then spam Ragrants, which is why Techter was chosen over Force. That...... was the most use I ever saw Techter get. I did have to jump on the Luster bandwagon at the end of base PSO2 to clear max depth Sodam and the level 200 fights, and I've always had Fighter in my back pocket, but it's pretty much always been about wand for me.

    • @Cathy5614
      @Cathy5614  Год назад +1

    I’ve played TE since it came out on JP and my god was it bad. In EP2 it came to a point where you had to juggle 4 active skills with different cool downs and all we were good for was quick mobbing thanks to how broken wand explosions were with Zondeel. This got nerfed from EP3 and on where lots of enemies weren’t affected by zondeel. TE being bad in PSO2 base was one of the main reasons I stopped playing for larger periods, but never really quit, with around 4K hours on JP. NGS TE is actually a lot of fun. Not super powerful compared to BR or SL, but at least competent compared to the rest of the classes.

And highly effective vs nils...terrible vs ams atm..but though i like alot of weapons..wand is my go to in purple triggers..and kills faster than daggers solo...unless im missing something with daggers..great history lesson..im glad i didnt jump into base when released globally...ngs is awrsome..and finally has a decent story and variety

    I made a new character jus to play Slayer. I decided to have Techter as a sub class and stated to level that a week or so before Slayer released.
    I was really pleasantly surprised and found Techter to be much more fun than Force (which I thought Techter would rememble).
    Overall, I think melee classes in New Genesis are just much more fun than ranged ones.

  • @granvell619

    Something that caught my ears was SEGA beginning to think the Just Attack system is a nuisance. That actually sounds really stupid to me. Yes, having to design everything with it in mind may have been difficult, but getting mad at a system because you didn't account for the way that you built it to be ass is... well, yeah. Adding a tempo to the game was really good, it made sure players were paying attention.

    • @Cathy5614
      @Cathy5614  Год назад

      Yeah, I absolutely agree on that note.
      The sad reality is that a lot of, if not most PSO2 players suck at the game. Sega has always updated the players on the % amount of people clearing expert matching requirements and when new requirements came out only about 10% of the player base could clear it while the other 90% had to wait for power creep to make these requirements childsplay. And keep in mind that was despite Scion classes being really strong and easy to play.
      NGS was designed with the lowest common denominator in mind.
      So things like Just attacks, Affixing, conditional damage multipliers, unique weapons/units with unique stats, Mags, Weapon elements, etc. had to go. Well, if it was up to me they'd have stayed but i'm not designing the game.

    • @granvell619
      @granvell619 Год назад

      @@Cathy5614 The majority of the playerbase not being good at a game is a common thing, but the workaround shouldn't be to remove entire systems that make the game unique, it should be to streamline things that keep them out of the upper difficulties, i.e. affixing being really complicated and Mags being something you can't mess up at all. They stripped away way too much stuff in NGS without deeply considering how they could be adjusted.
      It's actually pretty funny how simplifying everything and making BP a thing caused the better players to force out bad players who got easy access to content they aren't ready for.

    • @Cathy5614
      @Cathy5614  Год назад +1

      @@granvell619 Yeah! I'm a big fan of improving on things rather than deleting them entirely. Not everyone seems to think that way. Like when the Demon's Souls remake was announced so many people were hoping they'd remove the world tendency system when they really should be asking for improvements to it instead. Removing the system will just upset the people who liked it.

    Wand never really made any sense in NGS until Stia, before Pursuit was implemented the entire gameplay loop was simply spamming Wave Crash, and then it turned into Wave Crash x2 > N3 > N4 in Kvaris.
    It really was soul crushing, even though I wanted to play it because I like the spellsword fantasy and aesthetic, it didn't really have any good reason to use Techs, and the Wave Crash spam for a year straight eventually turned me away from the game.
    Pursuit was the bridge to finally connect Melee and Techs, and compounds tie everything together in a nice little package, and I'm honestly very happy with it right now. It's fun to play and Pursuit always feels very satisfying to hit.
    Sadly Wand is still very behind in terms of damage, especially with Br and Lu running around spamming 450dps hitscan counters, but because Pursuit is so simple it leaves a lot of room for improvement.
    Just off the top of my head, if Pursuit stacked Tech marks so that your charged tech after isn't a dud that would probably bring it in line, but they could do a lot of stuff with it. It could leave a mark that lasts 5s and explodes depending on how much tech damage you inflicted on that part, so it's like Pursuit > Barta x4 > C-Barta.
    Wand Lovers is also a bit of a sore spot for me atm, it just feels kinda bad to use and we already have a lot of buttons. With it on, it becomes barely better to use WC>WC>3>4 than to just let your WC do its full animation, and even then it's by 10dps or something like that, and you lose quite a bit of Pursuit/Compound generation by not letting WC's 2nd part hit so I don't even know if it's an actual DPS gain long term or not.
    I'd be ok with it being removed and having Swift Smash go vertical instead and having that damage redistributed.
    In PSO2 as well, I've never played before NGS and Wand Lovers removing the Tech mechanics from the whole weapon felt really really bad. Wand feels a lot more fun to play if you just don't activate it, but it's pretty much mandatory.

    • @Cathy5614
      @Cathy5614  Год назад

      Wand definitely felt under developed at first. I wonder if its because so many Skills were wasted on Shifta/Deband. Skills like "S/D Extension" really didn't need to exist. In PSO2 it made sense since everyone had access to Shifta and Deband so having that skill gave Techters (and Fo/Te) the unique privilège of being able to cast a 3 minute long version. in NGS its a pointless skill that just eats SP for no reason. Shifta/Debands base duration should've been 3 minutes from the start, we shouldn't need a Skill for that.

      @@Cathy5614 They were probably told to release NGS prematurely, so they took the complete classes/weapons and took stuff out of their kit to release later as updates.
      A lot of weapons have the feel of finally being at a 1.0 release state right now, rather than being complete from the start and having received updates.
      For example, the PA Katana received as an update was the only gap closer it has lol, that's pretty essential to have.

    then in EP5 when they gave the wand its only PA i tried Te/Hu (fully support build), it was fun (but dont try hardcore content with it) and in EP6 Te/Ph was the perfect balance of magic and physical damage .
    funny enought in the same year i created a troll char who mains techer with a talis and for stupid reasons it turned out to be as one of my most powerful chars in the end (i wonder how your char would react if she meets my ice lady)
    In NGS with my ice lady i still play as a talis Te/Fo , not the best startegy but it give her an added value.
    For wands i play as Te/Hu or Te/Fi , i freaking love wands now. of course i use talis only on PSE burst with wand strategies.

I've played Hector on bass up to level 85 don't have great weapons I didn't even bother with the augment system but I do like n gs so much better it's just more fun to play far less content far less personality in-depth but that's on its way is four base it does have the personality in depth but in my humble opinion the gameplay does not compare and it's interesting to know that it is the hero class in the other Scion classes it would basically started the end of NG as I hate the thought of Opie classes
