He is the only one that got me through physics seriously I can’t thank him enough. Saying thank you doesn’t do enough justice for us all. We owe him all our wasted tuition from university.
These videos don't teach memorization of biological pathways but rather offer a complete and thorough understanding of them. I cannot emphasize enough how great all these videos are.
Having studied under an educational system that only focuses on cramming the textbooks' written words none of my teachers ever focused on actually explaining to us any topic conceptually. I just cannot thank you enough for these lectures! May the carbs lipids and proteins forever be in your favor!
In step-1,,, product of oxidative phase is not RIBOSE-5 PHOSPHATE it is RIBULOSE -5 PHOSPHATE it is futher converted to ribose -5- phosphate ,,,,,,,plz check ,,,,,,ur videos are sooo amazing and worth watching , time saving, and builds gud and clear concepts. Tqqq sooo much
Honestly I almost gave up on biochem until I stumbled upon your video... Purely genius, I swear you have this gift on knowing how to deliver the information to others in which I'm pretty sure my professors lack in that department. Even the way you write down everything on your board is very organized and helpful. A million thank you wont suffice to express my gratitude.
I have never felt more enlightened in my life. I've been putting off the PPP lecture for so long because every time I open it I get demotivated. This has helped me greatly, thank you!
I am sorry, but i think you've made a mistake in step one. The Oxidative phase produces Ribulose-5-P, which becomes a Ribose-5-P and then Xylulose-5-P, via Epimerase activity.
This is the NONoxidative phase of the PPP. He said the first reaction in step 1 was the exact reverse step of the final step during the oxidative phase. Not a mistake
You're such a genius! Your teaching level and understanding capacity always surprise me. I am really inspired!! I wish if i could be tutored by you... Btw i appreciate you much.
Great great lectures... I wouldn't have passed my biochemistry class without your videos!! One thing I just want to point out in this video is that on step 4, I believe xylulose-5-phosphate has been drawn incorrectly? 5th carbon should have OPO3^-2 rather than OH... Please correct me if I am wrong!
Much better than previous 2 videos honestly, kept a better pace and explained very well. The oxidative and intro videos felt like were too drawn out and like you were explaining to a child. But all around great videos and better depicts than reading textbook.
I used to dislike your teachings especially in chemistry because you were too fast for my likin.,But with this biochemistry teachings, you are doing a great job.Well done sir.
Final product of oxidative phase is ribulose-5-phosphate.. And total of 3 ribulose-5-phosphates were used in the non-oxodative pathway. Two were used to make xylulose-5-phosphate and one were used to make ribose-5-phosphate.
Something is not quite right with the first step here, or at least different then I learned it. I learned that the endproduct of the oxidative Phase is Ribulose-5-Phosphat which can be isomerized into Ribose-5-Phosphat and/or Xylulose-5-Phosphat by two different Phosphopentoseisomerases. So it would start in the middle here with three Ribulose-5-Phosphat which can be isomerized into one Ribose-5-Phophate by Ribulose-5-Phosphat-Isomerase and two Xylulose-5-Phosphate by Xylulose-5-Phophat-Isomerase which can then both enter step 2.
This video needs at least a million more views and 500K of them should be from my Biochem Professor.
+josephine aloisio lol :)
LMAO
Hahahahahah
You are so far the best Biochemistry professor i've ever, ever seen. On behalf of biochemistry students, sincerely, thank you.
Really appreciate you
Mam 💞🌸
Shomu and the Ninja guy are really good too. For me Shomu is the best

Thank you for your kind words Caroline!
Dude, you're seriously a better teacher than my university level PhD professor. Thank you, so much and I hope you're getting well paid for this.
Having studied under an educational system that only focuses on cramming the textbooks' written words none of my teachers ever focused on actually explaining to us any topic conceptually. I just cannot thank you enough for these lectures! May the carbs lipids and proteins forever be in your favor!
You just compressed our one hour lecture in college biochemistry into 11 minutes. You are a wonder worker. *thumbs up*
Absolutely superb! Thanks for clarifying all the steps and retracing it all back to glycolysis! What a relief to finally understand!
My biochem teacher needs to learn something from this tutorial video...LOL

I learned more in this 11 minute lecture than I have all semester from my professor who graduated from Yale. Thank you AK and God Bless you!

This video is a lifesaver!! I spent 4 hours trying to study the PPP from my textbook/lecture notes getting no where. this video is AMAZING!!!!!!!!
I've been in a lot of RUclips lectures on bchem and just to say you are the best
This is absolutely awesome. No need for pneumonic devices when you actually understand everything that is going on. Well done!
Indeed you are by far the best BCH professor I've ever seen. Thank you sir

Ak lectures never disappoint
Oh my God. I love this. I'm not sure I ever would have understood such complex pathway with my lecturer's teaching. Sir, you're the best. Love you!
These lectures are like cliffnotes to a very intense chemical world.
Super incredibly useful, you are an excellent teacher.
This video saved my life. Thanks for posting! 10/10
You're such a genius! Your teaching level and understanding capacity always surprise me. I am really inspired!! I wish if i could be tutored by you...
Btw i appreciate you much.
Thanks Dr. AK!
+Jiho Sohn This comment definitely gave me the biggest smile! :-D
You are a life saviour! Thank you so much.
Thank you, your lectures have really helped me understand the PPP xxx so grateful.
perfect lesson, thank you so much....best teacher i have ever meet
This series of videos are so helpful and I really wish I have gone through these videos before my biochemistry test.
Thank you!!! :) These videos are extremely helpful.
unbelievable truly simplified.I've never liked this pathway before now thankyou
You make this look easy, thank you! :D
His videos are amazing! I wish he was my lecturer!
Your videos have really being helpful. Thanks a lot.
Thank you for all this hard work .

Another brilliant video, thank you so much! :)
it's 2024 but I still watch your videos, thank you for this (💜)
I hope you're well enough.
AMAZING!!!!!! Finally understood this, thanks a lot man
Thank you for all this hard work
You're simply the best!!
Mind blown...Its a very beautifully orchestrated explanation... Its amazing Thank you
You're so far better than my biochemistry teacher. Thanks a lot for your web-lectures. :)

you are gifted.
From bachelor's to master's to National eligibility test. I still come back to AK LECTURES to understand this weird pathway
U r the best
You are the best
U are the best teacher ever god blessed you , much love :( 💜💜💜.
excellent explanation
thanks
Thanks a lot!!!!
you're good teacher.
You’re a God
Thank you

thank you
Very nice way to teach
thank you very much for this amazing videos that l don't what to do with out it💙💙💙
Actually u did it well... Thnku

I wish i could like this video every minute of it
fluent and very organised, very easy to understand....can you do an audio book :-D
Thank youuuu
Isn't ribulose phosphate produced from the oxidative phase?
thankkkkkkkkkkkkk youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu that really helped me
why nett reaction contain 3 ribose5 phosphate? i thought should 3 ribulose 5 phosphate??
Isn't it first supposed to be Ribose 5-phosphate (E: phosphopentose isomerase) --> Ribulose 5- phosphate (E: Ribose 5-phosphate epimerase)--> xylulose 5-phosphate ?
