Consider pay per client model to get started then simply transition happy clients into retainer 2-3 months later. After getting them results and establishing that trust over time, they’ll be happy to pay you retainer. Pay per client/appt model makes getting those first few clients much easier…

I am facing this same problem. Everybody I reach to is just asking for testimonials.

I have found similar things from talking with business owners. If they are small and don't know much about business they generally accept free trial offers without much doubt, but end up being terrible clients. If they are bigger and smarter, like the guy you were speaking with, they are a lot more careful and generally don't accept these free trial or Alex Hormozi style offers.

Hi Aadi. Thank you for sharing the live video. It was a great call. I just have started my journey and have 4 clients as of now. I do cold outreach too. I am just curious and want to learn, Why you just didn't say that he is your first client as you don't have any proof of client to show him?

also interested as to why he did that

The company is super established, and from our initial call I could tell he didn't want to waste his time. And at that point i had a client, I was just waiting to get the ads up and running, that's primarily why I stretched it a little.

Coming from buy-side of this, going forward with a growing portfolio and more experience i would advise you to talk to your "testimonial" client and ask if you can provide their contact to the new client. If your service is good your existing client should have no issue sparing 15 min to talk with your new client. @@Aadii_t
