This video actually started me on my journey. Absolute props to him but it angered me to see someone with such shit presentation skills, literally rip a template powerpoint from a free online course, do such a half cocked job presenting it and making more than half of what I did when I was 18 for the year. Don’t read off the slides
With questions get them to say YES. “Do you see how this could work for you?” Instead of “any questions?”
Tell about software features after you sign them up “oh we can add a we chat widget to help you convert”
Send contract, and have them sign on the call.
Send payment link and have them pay on the call.
Give more details on the next steps / onboarding process after the close

Some serious value drops in here. I 100% agree. You MUST have contract ready. You MUST have it in front of them so when they verbally say yes that you send it, or you are literally walking through just in case any questions on contract. Get them to sign it, and have the deposits invoice pre-prepped so they sign it on the call.

Great advice. I do have a question. How could you have a contract prepped and ready when some client cases are different and the contract may need to have different information? Would you be working on that during the meeting or is there a simple general contract you can use for all clients that would work for any service you provide? I do website and brand strategy so interested to see if this would work.

I think you should put in some work on the slidedeck though. Some great resources for creating good decks are looking at consultancies such as: BCG, Bain & Co etc. They like to crowd their decks with graphs not to say you need graphs everywhere but I think the text formating they use in slides is very useful. This since they are very action -> result oriented.

Hey mate, a bit of advice from a business owner here on the other side of these calls (not to diminish what you are doing, just some simple things to improve on).
Close your closet, it isnt a great look especially to an older person when you have your laundry hanging out behind you in view. Reduce your usage of filler words (um, like, uh) it is okay to pause to think and give a clear answer, you dont have to sit there going uh hmm um like to fill in the time while you think. Take off your hat and present yourself as a professional. Dont read directly off of slides line by line, the person on the other end is capable of that, take the key points and use them to promote thought about how they apply to whomevers business you are talking with. Ask affirmative questions, "do you see how this would improve your business?". Just a few little pointers from someone whos been in many board-level meetings and conference calls on both sides of a sales pitch.
