Her father, Arthas and Kinndy.. The three greatest Trauma's she had ever endured... Each single one of them brings a tear to my eye :(
Jaina held her dying father in her arms in Theramore after helplessly trying to convince him to alter his course against Thrall and the horde.
She watched Arthas Descend towards a dark path ever since Strathholme and wondered what if she had been able to dissuade him.
She felt Kinndy disintegrate into ash after the mana bomb devastated Theramore, seeing a bright and curious young life snuffed out which caused her to snap
Jaina is now -Arguably- perhaps the most iconic character in World of Warcraft that is still alive
And Kael'Thas ..
As an outsider of WoW and having only played hearthstone, isnt she one of the few major characters still alive since back at the beginnings of WoW?

That Arthas in the background... Jaina had such a heartbreaking life. Yet still she carries on doing the best she can.
Forget Arthas, Kinndy reading the book is even sadder, she was her apprentice and was dusted by the mana bomb in Theramore.
Yep, I agree. And I believe it was Kinndy disintegrating into dust in Jaina's arms after the mana bomb hit Theramore that made Jaina snap.
@@Athelarius I was trying to say, forgive English. Definitely that was the moment that changed Jaina forever, everything that happened that day made her leave behind the search for peace that she wanted at some time, as well as her friendship with Thrall and Baine.

Jaina has had such a great arc this expansion.
Considering where they left her at the start of Legion and how much of a turnaround she's had in BFA, it's pretty impressive!
and whole Alliance was showed like complete idiots and punch bags for Horde
@Ailee Georsua Is the story actually good? Jaina is apparently the mightiest mage there ever was, I don't think even the Guardian was that OP. Sylvanas is literally Garrosh 2.0, the horde is split again. And the same old tried "the Horde is bad but not really". As usual, the art department in Blizzard shines with the new expansion but that's about it. Writing makes no sense, thought I guess it can't go worse than WoD.
ROFL the entire story is around Sylvanas and Horde, while Alliance loses everything
Well, the Alliance had so much powercreep that the writers had to make them dumb enough to maintain the faction balance. So we ended up with an introduction mission ridiculously funny for the horde, fleeing a dumb, blind and slow demigodess.
One of the best written characters of blizzard. She has gone through literally shit. She has lost her lover, her king, her father in her arms, her apprentice....was denied by her own people....and yet she still has the leadership and courage in her heart to keep on going.
For Kul'Tiras... For the Alliance.... For King Anduin Wrynn... But most importantly... For our beloved Lord Admiral Jaina Proudmoore!
May she suffer no longer.

She's the most gallant character I've ever seen. She's literally iconic.
There are so many things that disappoint me about BFA's writing, but Jaina's arc is not one of them. Blizzard finally giving my girl Jaina the treatment she deserves.
I played Wotlk briefly and came back when BFA got released, I love Jaina and all warcraft lore, I remember my bf would tell me about Warcraft lore as a bedtime story even back when I didn’t play the game. Now seeing many people leave the game, either temporarily or permanently, I just really fear for its future. That’s why this soundtrack makes me really emotional.
Game has some legit issues in terms of story content, even if the way it is delivered has never been better. Add to that the lackluster gameplay mechanics many people wanted out of WoW, and many people are rightfully leaving WoW. However, this should not really be cause for alarm but for cheer, as Blizzard may stumble along the path but when money is on the line, they always pick things back up! So I am hopeful that Blizzard will react well to the decrease in player base, especially with a newly enlarged developer team.
MrAJEO I call it spending quality time with the significant other, I didn’t mean it literally ofc :) We just always ended up having late conversations about lore ^^

Hiya Folks. I’ve gotten WAY too many comments asking on what the music in the background and endscreen was and simply saying “Tides of Vengeance OST- Kul Tiran music” wasn’t good enough. Hope this makes up for it.

I stopped playing WoW last year. I knew that day would've eventually come. But you know what, I will never stop loving Warcraft, its lore, charachters and everything ( except the mechanical chicken quest ).
I'm so glad that I was born in this period of life where I could've experienced such an amazing game in life. Even though there were times where WoW could get on my nerves, but boy do I love this game.

Come back before 8.2. Many of the initial BfA issues are getting addressed and it keeps getting in a better shape. The new raid is amazing and Jaina is one of the best boss fights in game. The music and cinematics keep the atmosphere alive. The story starts going somewhere. BfA was rough but Blizzard haven't given up on WoW.

This is amazing. The picture and music go perfectly together. You can really hear how haunted she is by what has happened in her life. I spent the entire video trying to figure out what the red cloth clenched in Jaina's fist was. Though if going with the theme of the picture I would guess it symbolizes the purge of Dalaran.
I actually have the wallpaper - and you can see a Horde-Symbol on the piece of cloth she is holding ... :) So I guess it's a ripped off flag or something - it also looks like there is a little bit of smoke at the hand that holds the cloth. I think it's a nice little thing since she kinda hates and kinda doesn't hate the horde. She doesn't believe that all of them are evil and THAT right there is a fabulous charakter considering everything she lost. I swear to god - if they kill her off .... x.x

Thank you for mixing this beautiful pieces of art and music together. Feel unfortunate that i just started to play bfa, got blown away by art blizzard have put in it. This music about longing for home and loving ones is timeless.
I'm Horde, but I can't deny how beautiful this song is. The vocalization and the violin - it all comes together so beautifully.
For the curious ones, the first three songs and the last one are an old sea shanty called "roll the old chariot along"

In my opinion, this has to be one of the best bits of music composed for WoW in recent years and was an absolute travesty that it was excluded from the original soundtrack.
I think its so great, because it captures the essence of Boralus and the whole vibe of Jaina really well. I mean when I listen to it, it absolutely encompasses all aspects of her personality and story.
Also its just a nice piece of music regardless of ties to WoW or the story :D

I think people need to understand that If she died, The entire Lore of warcraft dies with her. She is a powerful character in the entire lore!
This is my go-to music from WoW when I need to quickly cry out my soul and continue with my day.

damn man the music is just.... So good. Makes me wanna jump back into the game! A new warcraft RPG or single player game would be SO amazing with their art, lore and music man.
You should. BfA started rough but it is shaping up. The story and the world are amazing. The raids are great.
@@gutspillage Actually I really enjoyed it even at the start haha. But I cant really play regularly and I felt that I was just getting the half-experience playing solo whilst also sacrificing a lot of time for university. I hope the game is around when I reach a point in my life where my schedule is more normalised! Happy playing! :)

the other one is Thrall, both of their life are so fucked up, I wouldn't blame them if they both become insane like Zul'jin or Kael'thas
The true Lich King ( Arthas ) could wipe both of them altogether easily, And Arthas himself could be destroyed easily by Sargeras and many others. As much as i love both of them they are far from beign the 2 strongests in Wow universe

Ya know.... from Mists to Legion, I had really thought they had destroyed Jaina's character. Like... I get why they were writing her to be that way, but it really made me start to dislike her. Her arc in BFA, though, has completely redeemed her in my eyes. I'm glad she got such a focus this xpac.
The portrayal in game was poor. The real Jaina was in the Tides of War book.If you haven't read/listened to it I totally totally recommend it. The best WoW book. And be ready to crai.
@@gutspillage the common factor is Christie Golden. The wow writers for years have been pretty meh, so the fact that she's doing the writing for the game now is a huge boon
@@ZephWraen well, Tides of War and Elegy are very good books. (I think Golden is better than Knaak despite her writing has a lot of problems sometimes (War crimes, for example)

I can see a similarity. Jaina & Arthas relationships and fates have similarities from Davey Jones & Calypso. Wasn't Arthas missing his literal heart and placed near where the heart should've been is his Locket of Jaina? There are also similarities between Arthas and Uther's to Anakin and Obi Wan as well as padme. I guess the writers of these characters borrowed heavily from other sources.
