Yes, unfortunately, it was an overdose. Truly a great loss, one of many legendary artists from the '90's era gone before his time. R.I.P. To all of them:
      - Bradly Nowell
      - Layne Staley
      - Kurt Cobain
      - Chris Cornell
      - Scott Weiland
      - Andrew Wood

Brad Nowell’s mother (nurse) saved my son’s life when he was an infant, he had a respiratory infection that nearly killed him. We spent a lot of time w/ her during his recovery period and told us stories about Brad, and told us that she felt it redeeming that she could help to save someone else’s life after the loss of her own child. Forever grateful and will never forget. And yes, great talent and band…RIP Brad 🎗️

R.I.P. Bradley. Sublime took over my life in the mid 90's, all the way up through my teens. Damn near everything they made skipped my ears and shot right into my soul. Goofy, endearing, stupid, hilarious, motivated, ironic, powerful....didn't matter. The non-verbal verse of Wrong Way gets stuck in my head at random times.
I almost started typing out the songs i love the most, but thankfully, I stopped myself once I realized it would have been a list like 20 songs deep.
I still hit up the rarities album Pure Anus these days, just for the groove.

It's worth pointing out that Santería is a Cuban folk religion of sorts. It's treated as a type of witchcraft, and has ties to Voodoo.
Offerings, animal sacrifices, talking to the spirits of the dead, etc.
So, in a way it kinda makes sense that the music video for 'Santaria'' would feature Bradley Nowell's ghost.
Although the song actually starts with "I DON'T practice Santeria, I ain't got no crystal ball"..... lol

"Scarlet Begonias" (Greatful Dead cover), "Badfish", "40oz to Freedom", and "the wrong way" are all Masterpiece songs from Sublime amongst many others. Every song on every album are so unique and so easy to groove or jam to.

Sublime is by far one of my favorite bands. They mix rock with reggae with Ska and a little hip-hop. I love the island. Beach type vibe. They definitely inspired a different style of music.

Good song! On another note, how are you guys not reacting to some of the best of Issac Hayes? He has so much going on from his work with Stax Records (writing) in the 1960s right up to his death. I would like to suggest his live performance at the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame from 2002; “Shaft”. Spectacularly, Fantastic! It will take you breath away!

Sublime made some very cool tunes. The ghost was their singer Brad Nowell. The dog was Brad's dog too. Sadly, drugs took him from us too soon.
They have some really great tunes about some serious things. April 26 1992, Date Rape, the Wrong Way.. there's a lot of great stuff by Sublime. They're kind of a bridge between punk rock and ska. I know they did a version of Toots and the Maytals' classic 54-48. They also did Rivers of Babylon. Great band. This song is great, but they were so much more than this.
I spent a lot of time HAF listening to these guys. I was in college when this was out. It was a blast!

Concrete Jungle, from Bob Marley’s album Catch A Fire. But make sure you get the US version. Wayne Perkins’ guitar solo is one of the best of all time, as far as fitting the song and giving it EXACTLY what it needs!

I think I mentioned this a little while back. Within the last 6 months I'm guessing. There is a great burgeoning and has been for some time. Rock hard Rock and metal scene out of Japan for well over a decade. And many of these groups are comprised in part or completely made up of women. Groups like Band Maid, and Nemophilia. Among a bunch of others. From Indonesia, three hijab wearing tiny young women. In the rock funk metal group VOB. Which stands for Voice of Baceprot. Maybe something a little different for your channel. One day a week doing a song or two. From these great bands from that part of the world. But like I said especially out of Japan for the last decade or so. Take care and be well always.

Sublime is a great band! They had a ton of hits, and I'm sure Amber recognizes that line because she must of heard it in passing. This song was everywhere once upon a time!
They have so many hits, so I am sure you'll get a ton of requests. Sublime blended punk rock with reggae and ska, so they had a very unique sound. One of my favorites, though, is "Wrong Way." I think that was their third biggest hit. If you liked this one, you might also like "Badfish" which has a similar vibe. "Doin' Time" was another huge hit, but I think the remixes featuring various other artists are better than the album version. My favorite version is the one featuring The Pharcyde. That said, their catalog is so deep, there are literally dozens of options.
