  • How local television reported the eleventh hour rescue of Scotland's last traditional tartan weavers, in Selkirk, Scotland.
If this tartan mill had closed, 90% of family tartans would never be woven again.
D C Dalgliesh produces the finest tartans available, in both wool and silk, and is the only commercial weaver specialising in any tartan in short lengths, even for a single garment.

I've just had a rare family Tartan woven by D.C Dalgliesh - an 8 yard, 16 oz - it has now been made into a kilt for me in Australia. I am very proud to have this family tartan finally produced, as there is nowhere else in the world who could produce it other than Dalgliesh. I am also very happy that they were saved from closing recently, the Scottish government ought to ensure that they never run the risk of vanishing - they are a national treasure!

Bravo! Can't believe that anyone would want imported tartan...if it isn't made in Scotland, it just isn't the same.
