Tom, Not only did you motivate me to fix this old 612 that has been under my work bench....but your vid played best guitar player living....in my humble opinion....good on ya Mate
Just bought a used/mint pair of 612’s….. They were up and running just fine with a Mackie mixer on the first gig. Second gig not so much. Did the factory reset as indicated by JBL three times and still had some issues. Could barely hear the 12” speaker but not the HF. Hoping it’s not a PCB issue this time. Thank you for an excellent presentation and info. 🔉
I just repaired 3. All 3 would not power up. All were an electrolytic located in front of the heatsink most likely covered in glue. It's a little guy in the forest of tall caps.
Any idea on what components on the pc board commonly fails? You got a schematic to share? The replacement board is out of stock and backordered @ Speaker Exchange.
I have two of these plus the subwoofer, and both the left speaker and the subwoofer stopped working. the speaker still powers up no sound, any idea what it might be? damn speakers died like a week after warranty expired…
Hi, i just tried switching the amplifier/power board in 2 of my eon 612's, and i still get very little volume combined with no bass at all. I have tested the woofers, and they are fine and measure within spec. Is there any tips you could share with me, in my process of finding out exactly whats wrong?
Did this supplier make you aware of the common faults and causes for the pcb failure? I have similar issue and would rather fix the board before I bother buying one from some random.
You teasing me about my southern drawl 😁? Well , soldering is a whole other video . There are lots of RUclips tutorials on how to solder. It’s not difficult

Hi Derek, I'm having problems with the Eon 615. Sometimes, the speaker won't power up. How did you manage to locate the failure on the board?
@derekfarber1639 Are you referring to the MOSFET heatsink? I cant see any through holes for any electrolytic caps there.
Hi Tom, what did you do exactly for the ones that didn't power up? I'm having the same issues with the model 615. Thanks!
