Funny story , years ago I had a cousin come from Puerto Rico , anyway he was trying to relay to me, in his broken English ,that he liked an artist named Shot Gun , to which I replied who ? , he repeated Shot Gun , I finally figured out that he meant Chaka Khan , Man did I laugh hysterically LOL .
@@Digginbehindthedikeslike my sister told me she's getting up in age and 50 years of touring has taken it's toll on her. I remember the first time I saw her she was still with the band Rufus. Her vocals were so on point and powerful she made the hairs on my head stand at attention.
I've seen Chaka Khan sing this song at many concerts. It appears to me that Chaka Khan is a little under the weather (maybe a head cold, etc). She's even singing the words to the song in a lower octave where she knows she can and get away with it. She still did a great job ! The backup singers are all great; holding it down!

I'm proud to be a UCLA Med School trained pediatrician, but I must acknowledge my special love for music also, and I loved Chaka Khan and Rufus and the superlative music they produced ever since I saw them in the mid 70s at the Fabulous Forum! I must definitely admit my supreme love for the talents of Chaka Khan!

She's not nailing it here to be honest which given her age is not a problem at all and much respect to the lady but to say this is a great performance is just not right.
this is a great example of a drummer that is too mechanical; he has spent too much time worshiping the click track and not enough on making it feel good. Look up some JR videos on how to groove, cheers!

The "fan" is who supports the artist and the artist has an obligation. Perhaps the management should consider a " fail safe" plan in the event of an occurrence(i.e. have the audience sing the lyrics, band or back up singers take up more verses.) Better yet, do a medley and not full song. OR, fans can listen to their preferred song....at home or on radio! #Just saying...(done paid my good $...) Wish Sirius had a channel for Rufus &Chaka Khan like they do for Prince and MJ.

I've also seen older Chaka getting up there with her iconic high beautiful scream voice. And she's kept her same lil signature dance her entire career.🤗 I love Chaka from day one .My sweet Jr high days ,"Tell me something GOOD!".
She’s older than when she first recorded it. The voice ages. She was 28 when it came out, and at this performance she was 65. I say she still did a great job.
Chaka khan has type 2 diabetes and that is a bitch to deal with. She has fought it though. . Maybe she wasn’t feeling too well here. Her voice is still amazing it just seems like her energy level was not where it usually is.
This is the most cohesive background singers she has had. She needs to keep these 3 ladies!
