Holy freaking crap! Jessica covered a Chaka Khan song...and NAILED IT. That lady is a freaking powerhouse, man...and the rest of the band absolutely killed it as usual. Just an incredible performance. Y'all better bring it down about 5 notches - I'm running out of compliments. 🤣🤣

You aren't wrong, but this arrangement is clearly Chaka Khan's, and honestly...as talented as AWB is, their version of this song vastly pales in comparison. That's why nobody ever associates them with the song, despite having written/recorded it first. My two pennies, anyway.
Jessica’s voice is like a chameleon, she can change it into whatever she wants it to be! Fantastic cover guys! Knocked it outa the park!

DAMN. I'd never heard this one before. Vocals are fantastic. The groove is strong. The bass is funky. Rhythm section is tight. This song is outstanding. Best one yet, LLB. You can say it's a lounge classic or whatever, but this performance wakes it up and is really something. I'm gonna go watch it again.

Vandy, the arrangement and mixing are phenomenal. Jessica, your range, voice control, and vocal quality are superb!! The notes you hit right before the bridge made chills run up and down my spine. I was a little concerned at first if this band could do Chaka Khan justice, she has just a dynamic voice. You guys knocked it out of the park, outstanding.

Describing "LLB" as a cover band just doesn't describe them well enough. The production values are right up there with the best out there. I am certain that there is enough talent in the LLB universe to pull off some original hits.
Im kinda over the "Cover Band" moniker altogether. We dont call classical musicians "cover artists" when they are...."cough cough" covering Beethoven or Tchaikoski. They sinply are "musicians". And it is of no particular coincidence that many orchestras and symphanies play arrangements of tunes we grew up with. So where does that leave us with bands like the Lexington Lab Band? They are playing faithful arrangements of our favorite tunes. They as you mentioned, play at a higher level of talent than what we are used to.
I am backing a concept to drop "cover artist" as a nomeclature. People who learn the composition of a tune and play it faithfully as their own or as written and recorded are simply "Musicians. Bands. Ensembles."

You are correct Like I said in this post and earlier ones we are listening to the "LLB Sound" not a cover ...they have surpassed all notions of "imitation" that no other band that I know of can compare!! Note looking at Dan I thought we were going to listen to a little Chicago tonight with Micael MaDonald on the keys....LOL@@nascargas

@@LexingtonLabBand I dislike the moniker "Cover Band". Even supergroups like Led Zep and Eagles "covered" other artists songs. It has been happening for millennia in music. Musicians like LLB and others such as F & F are simply giving the song justice and having fun doing it. I appreciate all that LLB does, you all enlighten the music with the video. There are many songs you folks have done that I find nuggets in that I hadn't noticed before because of your video production highlighting them. The music and video production are outstanding work. And a shout out to the videographers in the background who capture all of the essential footage who do not get enough recognition. Thank you!

Loved this session. Jessica's range and vocalizations are incredible. Those high notes hurt me. :) All the band members were groovin' and the backup ladies were fantastic as well. It's hard to stop without naming every member of the band and how great they were, but since the sax and horn guys aren't always around, gotta mention what a great job they did. Thank you all!

Thats impossible, often imitated, never duplicated. She and the band did an impressive job, but she lacks the grit and funk that Chaka has, not to mention her voice isn't as powerful as Chaka's, and doesn't have that saxophone/horn sound that Chaka has.

Outstanding ! I wish you could do a joint concert with a band from Russia called Leonid and Friends. Both your bands are amazing and a concert with both of your bands would be utterly amazing.
LLB and L&F have a mutual admiration going society going on. Vandee and Randy went to a L&F concert in October in Arizona and got together afterward. I was there to see L&F and was surprised to run into Vandee and Randy and have the opportunity to talk to them for several minutes.
