how much you tow with this I HAVE SPORT BASE MODEL
This is a class 3 hitch, curt says it will handle 5,000 pounds tow and 500 tongue weight. I think the Sport model Jeep only has a towing capacity of 4,000 pounds.
i know 4000 but if i replace the whole hitch not just adapter would it be same thing because i have 3800 rv
Its more based on engine and trans. Jeep makes it sound like 4000 is max for a sport with a manual, but if you have an auto you can go to 4500. If you have the overland, mojave, or rubicon brakes, you can tow 6500, and with the max tow you get a trans cooler and 7500. Im no expert on towing and cant say what they could really handle and for how long. My camper is only 1500 pounds so ive never tested the limits.
thx for the info. my oct.21 model came with it. now i know what to expect when i take it off temporarily.cause i dont tow anything.
Gotta say just that little pro tip for the carriage bolt and plate was a life saver! I couldn't get them around that nutsert for the rear metal bumper without it. Thank you for making this video!

The link you shared says it does not fit a 21’ gladiator.. is this wrong and I’m ok to buy? Or should I look for a different product?

Thanks for the fish wire tip. I have the Quadratec hitch but it's identical to the Curt. I just about gave up until I came across your tip on separating the plate from the carriage bolt. Worked on the second try after at least 50 attempts the other way.

Nice. I installed the same Curt receiver. With this set up , do you know what the tow rating is. It's not a complete class 4 hitch so I question how much we can actually tow with our Mojave
While the receiver says 5000#, it also says rated as strong as weakest towing point and the larger tow bracket we are attaching it to is rated to 3500 I think. I'm currently just going to use it for light towing on paved or gravel.

Hi dude, may I know where you got the fish wire and what size is it?
came with the hitch kit. amazon sells the curt fish wire in several sizes for $1.75

I found some other websites sell the wire and receiver as a kit… I will checked Amazon as you mentioned for the wire. Thanks again! Enjoy your weekend!
