I just played Muirfield 2 weeks ago and you are spot on with your opinion regarding the course, I respect your honesty you could of easily not shown you're 3 putts, I did the same thing with out a caddie the greens were very challenging to read. Watching your video is like replaying my own round, your videos are truly authentic. Thanks, Bob from California

They knew about my plan to document my round but to say they were on board would be a stretch! Certainly didn't stop me.

Enjoyed your video. Thanks for the candid assessment. We will be playing Muirfield along with many others in October and one of those I’d the Glen Golf Club just up the road. Understand it’s a modest little gem. Happy trails to you.

I'm from Liverpool and come up to east Lothian every couple of years. Really enjoy Gullane no2 and Dunbar. Will be playing those again in September this year

Great video and quality play. I had no idea private course did stuff like this. I think they all should to grow the game. Maybe a day or a block or time to allow public play. Awesome opportunity you got! Would kill to play some of the great courses in Scotland

Muirfield has always been pretty good with outside visitor play on Tuesday and Thursday. It helps keep their member subs down every year I guess, a model adopted by almost all the world-class links member courses here.

Ru Macdonald - Scottish Golf Podcast too many course in my list. It will depend on the group and other factors but a mix of The bigs and hidden gems will be the way i would like to start. I have the ebook you guys produced and love the idea of concentrated areas and not spend a lot if time in the road.

Brilliant stuff Ru. I was meant to play last year but was rescheduled to June this year. Heard lots of things but this video has helped to actually see it. Pretty much the advice I was given seems to stand, hit the fairways and practice your bunker shots in any case!

Great video! Looks like you had some tough conditions. I’d love to play Muirfield one day. I’m on a quest to play all Open venues, but I’ve heard it’s not as visually appealing / enjoyable as say Carnoustie or Turnberry. Bunkering looks epic though.

Out of 10 rounds, give me 9 at NB, 1 here. But that's just me. Would love to play it in calm conditions again.

Drive that swing down clear till impact. No push up or scoop and you'll gain 5 strokes instantly. Promise.

You hitting shots is nice but not compelling

notdrivingaminimetro definitely have a proshop. A new addition in the last year I believe. Lots of merchandise to buy direct from the club now 👌

Snooty old boys club with social views still in the 1900s. Anyone watching, just go and play at Gullane or Luffness. Muirfield isn’t worth the hype. Way better courses out there in East Lothian which are visitor friendly.
