Have! Love the play on words. Fun fact: Spoonerism is an actual word. A spoonerism is a speech error in which the speaker switches the initial consonants of two consecutive words. If you say "bunny phone" instead of "funny bone," you've uttered a spoonerism.
Only a stuck up yuppy fuckhead with no soul compassion or heart would put a thunbs to any of abbys vids . . Im going to give every vid shes ever released a BIG THUMBS UP !!! If there was more humans like abby this planet would be a far better place
Thane McEwen how is watching her play the spoons an art form? Don’t give yourself too much credit. I’m kidding you for your choice of words, of course. 😬
I'm so very glad I found you by accident! I can't say how fantastic it is to see a lost art form come back with such talent, and I love the way you teach with the slow repetition. Just like when I was young and Sunday was family music day. You've really taken me back to times forgotten. Thank you so much!
So excited.... My Irish great grandfather played the spoons. He was SUCH a character!!💚💚💚 I think I know how to roll, just here for the kindred. Still, I always learn or am inspired by you, Abby. You bring the memory of my great grandpa playing spoons, back to LIFE. He was so much FUN!! Laughing, singing, and rolling them spoons... lol. 💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚
I play a different tempo on the spoons..Reels, Jigs, and Hornpipes. My most popular video on my channel is the spoon playing one..ha..ha. That are often played at sessions here in Ireland but musicians don't particularly like them they prefer the Irish drum which is called a Bodhrán.
I absolutely love your spoon playing. I actually played spoons many years ago when I was young in church and am trying to relearn how to play them properly again. Keep the vids coming, I'm a fan!
I'm from the Adirondacks originally but moved out west to El Paso. Miss the gravely music and blue grass with simple instruments. Found so much comfort in your music rhythm thought id try spoons myself. Can't sing can't carry a tune in a bucket if i tried. But i do enjoy your videos and public work you do and and that enjoyment is all that counts! Thank you for being YOU!
I am not playing but u absolutely rock. You share an art. Art is beautiful. It's from the soul. . Have watched ur videos and the ones about ur past. I have been there done thst. Had a very hard life... Know thst u are giving to the world. No matter what else u may have had done to u or done to others, this is ur gift. Ur solice. Ty Holly Lynn Murr
This does help so much. Thank you. My son is a drummer and over the weekend I showed him the roll I’d learned after watching your first video, mind you he’s witnessed my very plain Jane spoon playing over the past thirty years, and he was genuinely super proud of me for learning a new skill. I still can’t really do it up to speed so I had to revert to my basics when playing with my daughter and husband for our Mother’s Day gathering yesterday but I’m not giving up. It’s so fun and it adds so much to the jam sessions. Can’t wait til I get up to speed and my brother comes over to play. He plays bluegrass super fast. That’s gonna be so fun.
Abby your awsome. Thanks for the videos on how to play spoons. I've been playing spoons since I first saw you on RUclips more than a year ago. Never be as good as you but I love play.
Abby.. Through you.. Your bringing back one of the oldest know instruments to porch mountain music.. An instrument that brings to mind the front porch or barn playing. Special gatherings of folks using music to put smiles on faces during very hard times.. Thank you Abby.. Trates like this should never ever die..
I love this video so much. You walk it through so simply. I love the phrase "pretty much... watch the first video!" I started with spoons at age 11. I saw someone use them at a youth worship. I played and figured out how to play on my own with regular spoons. I never had a genius moment of clarity to use coban! What? Comfort? Ruin some spoons? Huh? It's brilliant. My main struggle was how much they slipped. I never thought.... just ruin ONE pair of spoons and keep'm for music.... Ha! As an adult I can now abuse my silverware as I please! Sadly, it has taken until age 40 to decide that I can ruin cutlery. You are my destructive muse. It is by your behest that I am now motivated to buy and destroy silverware at my whimsy! Bahaha! I have the POWER!!!
love, love your spoon playing! I'm 56 years old and am just trying to play the spoons. I thought it would be more difficult, but surprisingly I'm pretty comfortable with them. I am by NO means good at it, but I am just beginning. I have watched all of your videos and love your music. I am a born and raised Texas gal, nothing fake and do not fit in anywhere, and don't care. I prefer the back of a horse to a vehicle, freedom to hunt, fish, and camp, and a good dog by my side. Don't care about outward appearance because it's what's inside that matters. Please keep being you and please keep making video's. The one thing I am having trouble with is finding good old spoons, not Stainless. I will keep playing what I have til I find the right ones for me.
Огромное спасибо!!!!! Я восхищаюсь твоим творчеством!!! Я играла на деревянных ложках, в детстве... Но даже не могла себе представить подобного!!!!! Спасибо большое ☺️
I'm getting quite the collection of spoons. I'm looking for them every time I'm in a thrift shop! Got my grandkids playing too. Eagerly waiting on new teaching videos. I can't figure out how you play so well without hitting them on your lap. One of these days I'm going to get it! Thanks for all the lessons!
Gonna look in my drawer for some old spoons😘 You are such a joy and I know God is smiling down on you, such a beautiful soul Thank you for the joy and light you bring into a world that has gone dark. Keep shining your light God bless you Abby 🤗🤗😘
Thank you for the gift of YOU' and sharing the gift' sharing with us your talent in that, we can all play along' with spoons AND you spoon lady Abby ♥️
I saw your most famous video a couple of years back and was happy to hear your music. I found a set of rhythm bones in some family heirlooms a number of years ago and have always been drawn to playing spoons for some reason. I’ve never know anyone who played spoons and hadn’t ever pursued taking lessons but I am SO glad I have found you learn how to play videos!!! Thank you for sharing your knowledge. :-) I’ve been holding my spoons and bones quite differently than you instruct and now I see why it’s been so hard to produce certain sounds and keep track of that bottom anvil spoon. I’m planning on a lot of practice this winter since I’m couch bound with a broken knee and now have plenty of forced down time. Thanks for all of your videos. I really enjoy them.
Never tried to play before. Very interesting to watch. I am going to show this to my grandson. He plays the drums. Thank you for showing us this technique.
Abby...love the spoons but most of all love your down to earth "I'm me" nature! It's very hard to find people so comfortable in their own skin! Thank you for sharing yourself with the world! Comments are coming from around the world! You bring people together! God bless you!!
Helping teach my 6 year old daughter about playing spoons. She just learned today that spoons are an instrument. My daughter says she loves the videos.
Awesome, more lessons please, Abby. I used to play around with playing the spoons when I was a teenager, I've always been fascinated by it. You inspire me to try playing the spoons again
Been playing since I found you last Friday...your technique and hold are different than any video I've found and obsessed with learning it. You rock girl

Having already dabbled in spoon playing and hamboing, your videos are inspiring! I'm digging out my favorite steel spoons (my favorite spoon sound comes from wood Yugoslavian soup spoons) and expanding and experimenting, trying some of your techniques. Thank you!
Abby you have an Amazing Talent in Something that Gives out such a Unique Sound and Rhythm you can't Hear Anywhere else, Thank You so much for Sharing this with all of us👍👍
I used to try to teach myself to play spoons wen i was real young..(now 61yrs old)...but i taught myself alittle bit..but have always been fasinated with the whole "spoon playing" thang!!!🥰❤❤😎
Inspiring. I have my grandfathers rythem bones, i think they may be whale bone. Both pairs sound different and awsome played in both hands. U have inspired me to pick to the spoons again and try different techniques . They and u sound amazing. Thanks for the education Abby.
Thank you so much for making that video Abby. I wrote you a while ago and asked you how to do your rolls and triplets and show it it slow motion to help me with my playing. And I just found this video with my request made by you. Thanks again! Much Love Abby!
I found some spoon rings@ winfield yrs ago& when my fingers are tender from guitar playing i put on my spoon rings. Hillbilly castenettes. I admire you SPOONLADY glad you found your niche& realizing dreams! Hugs from heartlandia!😻💃💨😍😂☔😎😻😀😁☕
Miss Abby, yes I saw you and was totally inspired to play spoons. You showed me a lot, I got some from other Spoon players on RUclips and guess what? I play spoons to heavy-metal. 😹😹😹 it’s the bomb! And you’re the bomb too. I was trying to do something with this Covid quarantine and I decided to learn some new songs on guitar and learn how to play spoons, thanks to you! Tip: Start with teaspoons and get a Bluegrass/Irish Music Track on YT that's not too fast..After that it's just practice..If you can dance or tap two coins on a table to the rhythm of a tune..you can play the spoons.
In case you were wondering if ya ever made somebody pick up a couple spoons and start practicin. And then watch a bunch of your videos tryin to learn.... Ya did... Alot harder then it looks in my opinion I think the grip is my number one problem. Lol I'll get it though. I appreciate your videos they help alot.
My grandpa used to play the spoons. I never saw or heard till I saw your fb video. He died before I was born. But after your video I’m totally going to try it
I c on the table in front of you a hand saw, my grandpa played a saw by bending it , do you play it & if so would love to see a video!, He also played spoons one handed but also one in each hand. Watching you is the next best thing to going back to the good ol days
You are amazing! When I was a child, a gentleman played spoons at the church I attended. Now, they don't allow spoons or tambourines in the churches. I joked with the pastors and said the reason the churches have lost their anointing is that they kicked out the spoons and tambourines. Well, a pastor told me that he'd let me, and only me, play the spoons if I'd learn them. Now, I plan to take him up on it! My question though is what do I look for in spoons? Everyone has an opinion. Some say to buy cheap spoons because the expensive ones are too high-pitched. Some say soup spoons but others say oversized tablespoons work best. Some say that you need a wide base. Others say that I shouldn't worry at all about the spoon type because I will have to modify the spoons and that I will eventually have different types for different songs. What do you suggest?
Always wanted to try this and I think I will. Just didn’t know correct way to hold the spoons. Thanks Abby! Keep Spoonin. It would be awesome to jam with you. I play the drums.
Ms Abby the Master Spooner. Is teaching “Spoonerism”.
Class is in. Thank you!

I love the look you give as you roll the spoons down your arm. LOL. You certainly add an interesting character to the spoon playing art.
Wow i thought i was the only one to be One with the SPOON......
