- One of the local spots that never disappoints. A great 120 mile loop in varying terrain. Got some epic weather, dirt, and laughs. Johnny and I had a great ride on this Friday afternoon rip!

Good ride boys! Spent a little time on my buddy's 501 and man they rip! I've ridden a DR350S for 25 years and I just thought that 30hp was enough 😂. Hope to be back to ride the Sawtooths some more summer '25. Want to come check out some of trails we missed last year. You boys rode any up around Smokey Bar Store any? If not it's absolutely worth it!
They 500/501 is surely a riot. Especially once you give it the Taco Moto treatment 😎 I love the DR’s, though. I frequently miss mine because of its versatility and simplicity. And yes those are fantastic spots to explore, feel free to reach out when you’re headed this way and we can meet up for a good ride or two!

You definitely need a larger fuel tank, I am pretty happy with the Acerbis 3.9 gal on my 500. And holy cannoli that idle was silly high at 5:10, was the high idle set or did you just have it set like that? Loving the content, keep it up.
Funny enough, after this ride I ordered a 3.1 tank and I’m loving it. It feels the same size as stock but gives me an extra gallon of fuel. In regards to the idle when we pulled up to the small cafe, I have no idea what that was about. I checked my choke and it wasn’t engaged. I will say, my air filter was fairly dirty before this ride so that may have been the culprit 🫠 it didn’t it after that so I’m not sure what the deal was. Thanks for the feedback! Very much appreciated.
@@IdahoDualSport208 I have the same 3.9 gal tank on my 2015 500 and I love the range. What are you getting with the 3.1?
@LBRides it’s hard to say because my riding varies quite a bit. For dual sport faster rides, probably 160 miles give or take. For the more enduro/singletrack rides I’d say closer to 120 miles.
Can you tell me what phone mount and handle bar bag you are using?
Absolutely. I use the stout mount from Moto Minded, with their Quad Lock mount with dampener. The bar bag is from Trail Bound Co, and this is their medium bar bag.
