- Enduro runs in my blood and takes me on a journey to Italy where I discover my roots and ride savage terrain on dirt bikes with 6-time Enduro World Champion, Giovanni Sala!
The story begins in Sicily, where I ride into the mountains in search of my grandmothers house, to fulfil a lifelong vision of seeing how my family once lived in a small village.
I chose the 2022 KTM 500EXC-F for this mission as this model has played a significant role in my motorcycling journey during the production of my three main feature films - Motonomad (Austria to Egypt) Motonomad II (Kazakhstan to Mongolia) and Motonomad 3 ( Chile, Bolivia, Argentina) ... Was lucky enough to watch Giovanni in 1992 ......6 day enduro at Cessnock going up and down the tumblebee hill
Legend in all aspects of offroad racing👍
A very special rider & person, Giovanni always has a smile on his face.
I watched with my jaw on the floor at Cessnock the Europeans destroy what I thought were fast blokes. Sala won the whole thing and I was forever changed. A humbling experience to see 80cc maniacs never ever back off the gas. It’s a way of life in Italy like cricket is here. Champion bloke.
This video is a master piece. Gio is a legend for me. I remember seeing him in the enduro races and always trying to saying him a "hello" and he always replied. This simple thing make my day at the time.
This video just made me cry.
