That's such a cool moment that Link can relive his teenage years through his kids by teaching them to drive stick in the same truck he drove at 16. A lot of people don't get special moments like that.

"It's a Wonderful Life" is my dad's favorite Christmas movie. For those who want it quick and skinny, Rugrats did a great parody Christmas episode where Chuckie wishes he never existed (mild spoilers).

My mom and I have COVID currently. We are not doing well. She got it from my sister’s fiancé, and he was almost violently ill. All of us are fully vaccinated and boosted. I am glad you were doing well with it (potentially), Rhett, but most people I know who have gotten it have had awful symptoms. For those reading this, please do not try to just “get it over with”. It’s not been fun.

First, I hope you and your family get better soon!
My entire family from my wife's side got it (new years gathering), thankfully mild symptoms, even the elders. Hope it goes well with yours.
Second, you are right. Mild symptoms are not a given, we can only hope. Yet I think I feel the same as Rhett. If most of us will eventually get omicron, I just want to get it already and be over with it, (this is not to say I'm gonna go unmasked and licking people lol). Even though you can get it again and again, it kinda gives you some peace of mind for a while. We just need to keep being cautious and do our best to stay safe.

It is now one of my top favorite movies!! And yes “Casablanca” is a great one too! I love “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”. The classics are the best by far!!

I used to be a beer delivery driver for a brewery in holly springs and it is so trippy to hear these two creators who I have been supporting since they lived in fuquay to reminisce about their old haunts, and have a personal connection with the places we’ve shared. One of the best ear biscuits I have heard in a long time! And yea, traffic all around the triangle is getting bad.

Love your gift Link it’s very poignant. I don’t leave home since the plague, I’m fully vaccinated and boosted. My son is a taxi driver and has worked all through this and never came close. In comes this new OMICROM and on the 4th of January myself my husband and my son tested positive. This was also my dad and grandad’s anniversary I had to go to the cemetery myself and not with my sisters. If this is as bad as it gets I’ll take it. I’ve had 7 family members with it in the beginning of December 6 of them grandkids. Stay safe out there it’s madness. X

A few years ago it became clear to me that I was going to move to Europe within five years (which I did in October of 2021). I decided that I should learn to drive stick so that I wouldn’t have to buy an automatic over here. I asked a colleague at work who is German. She was telling me how to do it in German (which I speak fluently, but one must remember, I barely know the words for stick shifts in English because I’ve never driven one). Well she was telling me all of it in German and where we were, starting off I was trying to go up hill. It was not a successful first lesson. 😂
