These are all the brutal animations found in shogun 2 total war, the have the Yari, katana and horse combat animations included too. No mods were used apart from the Deathbowl map.
All DLC downloaded
Also any questions that haven’t been answered or anything that wasn’t clear, ask in the comments below.
Caution: Multiple mods working at the same time may decrease performance and cause the game to crash etc.

@@samym1694 FOTS uses same engine/ is a safe within TWS2 So it’s included in this
@@ZMTDtheone but it contains muskets so I was wondering if they engage close quarters
@@samym1694 in fots they don’t use their muskets, they switch to their katanas unless you have the bayonet mod which allows their muskets to be used as spears :)

Shogun 2's fighting animations are the most satisfying to watch out of any total war game tbh. The sound design just makes it perfect

I recommend you watch the new Warhamer animations. there are none, everyone is just beating the air

Huh, I never realize Yari Cav yeet their spears/lances at enemies. Then collecting their weapons after their enemies died. That's very cool.
This animation only seems to play when cav is fleeing
Even if you don't buy the blood/gore dlc they still do.

Units with bayonets will do the same (only in fots I think)
Honestly the best part of this is that the blood flows like an art style, and it kind of represents japanese culture during the Sengoku period

Shogun 2 had the best matched combat from all TW games. This game is pure ART!
I wonder if anyone managed to bring this to a Thrones of Britannia or Medieval K 1212...
irrc Medieval K 1212 uses Atilla right? That game still have matched combat because it uses the same engine as Rome 2
You gotta respect the length they went with in rome 2 vanilla with the soldier gear details, but matched combat isn't as engaging as it is in S2, still, these are my top tw's
Those animations are so fucking good for a game of that age.
It is a shame to see CA going backwards in their games from the original combat animations we saw here.

Part of me wishes that some of the killing animations involves someone else kicking thr back of thr enemies leg while they are in a clash and give his ally an advantage or stab them in the back or stop a killing blow
Dishonourable, not how samurai fights worked, maybe with ashigaru fights but still, the thought of being dishonourable would still be strong even in farmers
This is the sengoku period so that would be likely. During the Heion and a bit of the muromachi, samurai had one on one combat in battles. It then became a gang effort with 5 samurai or a samurai and his guards pinning down a guy to cut off his head mid fight.

Great video. I've never seen some of these animations. Like the Yari infantry throwing his spear at the other guy then stomping over to pull it out
I believe it’s only an animation that happens when the infantry unit is routing

Mod community is indeed great! But I don't think he's using any combat mods. Maybe blood mod tho

I never realized there was dismemberment in total war.
And in "modern" games we get "bump units into each other -> couple of swing -> enemy unit just laying on ground without any animation" like we are all 3yo playing with toy soldiers again... god i wish we got these cool animations for every single TW game

It’s a custom battle, I set the AI side to ‘defensive’ they only usually send one unit at a time
are we able to fight like that game called mourdo

Whatever blood mod your using it's a little much
is part of the game's files, I think is the Blood and Gore update after the game's release
