They have the most healthiest relationship in the whole kdrama history, no one can tell me otherwise. The fact that Chayoung knew immediately Vincenzo was part of the Mafia but never told him to change is what I always needed from a female lead. To accept her partner for who he really is. She supported him even though she knows its wrong because that the only way Vincenzo could achieve “justice”. She always apologized if she crossed the line (first kiss and hug). She never made him choose between her and his Italian family. She’s strong inside out. I know for one that Vincenzo will always be loyal to Chayoung even if they aren’t by each other’s side 24/7 because its their souls that are intact to one another. Their bond is really strong compare to any other kdrama couples.
@@nis2532 Yes! So far, they have the most mature relationship among kdrama couples I’ve seen. (I watched a ton fyi) It’s ironic because their personalities are a complete opposite. Chayoung being chaotic af while Vincenzo giving out a “I don’t give af” energy. There was never a toxic or immature moment between them. They grew closer, had deep conversations, gave advices and let one another do what they want, were never forceful to one another and were there for each other when they needed someone the most. I just love everything about their relationship. Also the way I see it, they were never enemies from the start (although Chayoung did despise Vincenzo from the start) I don’t think both of them considered one another as rivals even though both of them have the same career. That’s another thing I love about these two! ❤️
The best thing about them is how they respect each other. There's no pression, there's no unnecessary complications, they are just taking their own time, waiting for each other and telling by their actions and eyes how much they're in love. Such a healthy and beautiful relationship.
exactly. which is why i don't agree with those who want a second season just so they can show us being romantic together. i think an important part of the storyline is the maturity they have to sustain their relationship even when they're afar. how chayoung never asked vincenzo to stay or to change. she just accepts that this is his reality and she's ready to love him and be with him nonetheless. i also liked how vincenzo showed his jealousy in a non-toxic and non-suffocating way. their relationship is really pure and this is what i like about (enemies to) friends to lovers trope. i feel like giving them a wedding or more romantic scenes would just make them one of the typical kdrama couples. i'm glad the drama ended realistically this way.
My most favourite thing about this drama is that Vincenzo never showed any toxic dominance to her or controlled her in any way. Their relationship is so healthy!
It's the thought Chayoung never stop Vincenzo from what he was doing and she never make him choose whether to go with her or Italy that really makes me inlove with Chayoung's character. The way she accepted Vincenzo whole heartedly is so touching 🥺
Here's what broke me: When in the early part of the drama cha young ask vincenzo if he ever killed someone, he lies and say no, then he ask what she would think of him if he was that kind of person. Cha young replies that she would still speak to him but it would feel like if they belonged to two very different worlds, and that Vincenzo would appear to her like a painting to watch from far away. When at the art gallery Vincenzo says "war and art are supposed to be looked from far away". He repeats this in the last episode. Finally, when Vincenzo is leaving after the kiss, cha young looks at him from far away just like she was looking at the painting just some moments before. He appears between two walls, the music change to a melancholic melody, then he disappear. They belong to two completely different worlds. She is a lawyer in Korea and he is a criminal hiding in Malta. What broke me about his drama and I thought was just perfect is this bitter sweet ending.

I think this is a true love that is meant to let the other go, wishing them the best. It's sad but so realistic! And I think that is awesome because is heartbreaking but also an amazing reflection of true love as accepting the other person as they are and get from love the best you can out of the circomstances and feel blessed by the awareness that even if he is an evil, tormented soul someone on the other side of the world will always be on his side no matter what, because they understand each other.

And when he got arrested and photos of what he did were shown she didn't for one second change her behaviour towards him or accused or made reproaches for him. And here they are now, together, living their love story in an unforgettable way. Her going to Malta, him sneaking to South Korea whenever he can, and them meeting all over the world on all the countries and all the continents. And because when a story is given to the public it belongs to the public too, I believe that years after,Hong Cha Young will clean Vincenzo from the accusations against him,the way she did with his mother. And he will be free to come to Korea whenever he wants.

I love how they didn't conclude the drama with a cliche or usual k-drama ending like weddings and stuff, this is just perfect to wrap up their story. We knew that they're doing just fine, and they loved each other. This is so mature and i adore this kind of choice they made.
It's the best and most direct confession without any cheesy or clingy lines...it's best confession I've ever heard in kdramas. Because in most dramas there will be a proposal scene and 10 lines is must, but the jist is "I love you" they can say it straight right why to show off others...That's why Vincenzo is one of the best drama in kdrama history...

That last kiss, I think it was the most appropriate time to finally show their own feeling. After 1 year has passed, their eyes can't lie. They are longing for each other. Vin was being hesitated all this time. But his feeling remain grow over time and he can't hide it anymore. Despite what he was said before about "Villain doesn't deserve to love" he finally decides to love because he is now sure about his feeling toward Cha Young. And when he decided to love, he will be tenacious. Their bond will grow strong. I believe in Vincenzo universe, Cha Young will finally come to Malta, to stay in the room that Vin has made.

To everyone calling this a 'bittersweet ending', please don't!! It's absolutely a *sweet* ending! A man like Vincenzo would never leave *after* he confesses to a woman he is in love with, by kissing her LIKE THAT lol. He came back to her with an ironclad plan, an island, a changed profession, and an undoubtable confession. He kept his restraint throughout the show, and showed his affection openly *only* after he had a plan to come back. He sent her those postcards with a clear intention to keep her thinking of him, because he *always* planned to come back to her someday (there are 11 postcards starting literally from the month he left), plus all the gold he has yet to sort. He would *never* keep her bound to him if he couldn't make it back into her life permanently, because she matters the most to him, so he wouldn't give her anything halfway. It would always be all of him, or nothing. In this case, it was *ALL* of him. He told her his true feelings *only* when he was ready to give and receive all the love that he thought he didn't deserve before. My man took a whole YEAR to prepare an island into a home, probably building a whole bungalow for her which he was calling a 'room', changed his whole ass profession into a vigilante, simply because he plans on being with HCY long term! I can *very* easily see them spending their time in Malta and also South Korea in the future. With ALL 3 of his fans in the International Security Department of South Korea, I'm sure they can make him invisible for however long he would like to visit her. And of course she can go to Malta and check out her 'room' anytime she likes! They also still have the gold to sort for which they both will work together, and also V has to meet the monks and other tenants some day, because the monks were certain that meeting him was going to happen again one way or the other, and the monks don't lie! It's an open ending, but certainly a happy one.

I like all your analyses. I concur with everything you’ve written. The 12th postcard was the one we saw in the series before she hung it on the ‘wall’ with the others. I’ve never seen this thought any where; and I’m curious to know what you think. I suspect Vincenzo began to have a liking towards cha young, the day he visited her dad and asked if he had another daughter. Clearly cha young had blossomed into a beautiful young lady compared to her pictures from when she was young. He must have deduced she was a lonely child, a bit like him: I have come to ‘understand’ of course I could be wrong, that ‘unattractiveness’ is not exactly celebrated in Kore. There is a big emphasis on beauty. Beautiful people are liked more, have preferential treatment, more friends etc. I suppose one could argue that it’s like that every where; but I think it is especially so in the South Korean society. I recall seeing Vincenzo look at Cha young differently when she came to her dad’s house when he was there. It is a clever script and Song Joong Ki cleverly expressed nuanced emotions and thoughts.

New to the kdrama world and I guess I'll be rocking the boat a little... I have been trying to see what is so 'dumbfoundingly gorgeous' about SHK... I can't seem to see it. Good looking I suppose, it appears to me that her face is symmetrical which would make it a photographer's delight; but that said, it's sad to compare JYB, or any other actress that SJK will act with, to her. They have different types of features, and I guess beauty. I wish all the Vincenzo cast much success in the future; whether they 'fit' the mould of SK's beauty or handsomeness standards.

I love that Chayoung gave him an assurance by nodding and closing her eyes long enough to be interpreted that it's okay for him to leave again. She's not even that sad sad or cried when he leaved. She just gave subtle smile, because she knows that, that night is not their last night together. When the time is finally right, they will not have to say goodbye to each other again. Their relationship is so healthy, and that is rare in kdrama land. The trust, the respect, the acceptance, the love. Also don't you guys think that Chayoung will move to Malta with him? Because in earlier episodes, Vincenzo keeps saying that she belongs to mafia.

I noticed throughout the drama Vicenzo always looked to Chayoung for assurance/checking if she’s okay. Especially when he was about to do something mafia-like that might take Chayoung by surprise. She always give him a subtle nod telling him it’s okay/she’s alright. Example, when he came back from the airport, before he fought those thugs, he looked back at Chayoung as if asking for permission. I’m gonna miss this drama so much!
This show just destroyed my desire to watch any other k-drama.Because I know nothing is going to be like Vincenzo.I am dying for season two.Please come back with season two.It's been three days but this show is still running on my mind.They showed a very minimalistic romance which is amazing.The amount of romantic scene was very less but still very heavy on meaning.Just can't forget those three hugs and two kisses.
The second kiss was not in the script, it was yeobeen’s idea. Joongki said that he also thought about it too and the director agreed so they did it. Their chemistry is top notch.
this scene was so beautiful pls - vincenzo was always afraid to take the first step because he thought that he didn't deserve love because of his mafia side, hence why chayoung always initiated everything in the beginning (hugging, the fake kiss at the art exhibit, honest words). her actions that vincenzo was afraid to do first left him to respond to her, leading him to recognize his feelings. now that he's been gone for a year, he's realized how much he loves her and how much her presence meant to him. finally being with her after a year, he didn't want to miss his chance - so he kissed her first. he's accepted that they cannot have a relationship like a normal couple because he abides to the mafia life and different principles, just like chayoung does. but he's realized that he can have love, maybe not in a relationship where the couple is physically together, but always be their side (ost!) at heart. this kind of relationship would be tough, but vincenzo and chayoung love each other so much and truly understand each other. they’ve come a long way

This couple deserved more, the chemistry between the two of them was inexplicable. The best part was that they never officially declared themselves, they just knew they loved each other, no need for words, just actions.
This is one of the few best kissing scenes in kdrama history. It's not too much but it's very passionate. JYB breaking barriers for female actors. Her expression and small gestures speaks so much in this scene.
Vince protecting Chayoung's virtue and Chayoung acknowledging Vincenzo's darkness, have agreed to be this so much selfless. Indeed love is freeing to the point they never questioned each other and beg to stay ❤️

From the very first she accept Joongki for who he is despite his past and she has no worry at all about having good relationship with him since their first day. Hong Cha Young truly the best female lead character in Kdrama ever. Smart, beautiful, strong, brave, confident, witty, funny, very understanding, not demanding, and the most important, SHE ACCEPTED VINCENZO AS A WHOLE (past, present, and future).
Love the allusion of Chilseok folk tales in this scene where the diplomatic celebration was the day they reunited. And also, his confession was bitter sweet and sad, but was definite GOLD. He practically determined to make her life stuck with him forever. That’s our corn salad 🥺
HCY deserve the whole universe. From the starting to the end HCY never force or manipulate him to stay with her or to spend time with her. If anyone needs V she always told him to go and help them. Even tho now V can't stay in Korea and she can see him once in year for one day but she support him and was happy for him. She told him that it's okay I can visit you if you can't. After find out V still a mafia and now become a boss she congrats him without any hesitate. HCY really love V but it doesn't mean you can prove your love by staying with the person you love. Their love has no boundaries. They both love, support and respect each other. Honestly I started this drama for SJK but fallen in love head over heels for JYB.

Vincenzo is hands off the best kdrama that ice ever watched. It displays everything so clearly and in an interesting yet simple way. Nothing complicated, just an absolute masterpiece.
They don't say "I love you" to each other but we can feel so much love in the air~~ Song Joongki and Jeon Yeobin chemistry really no jokes. I'm a fans of Joongki for almost 13 years, he always has a good chemistry with his co-star but I think this time, with Yeobin is his best best chemistry ever. They are really look so comfortable for each other, complement to each other and make a really beautiful scenes in every episode.

I have never been this emotionally distraught over a fictional kdrama couple before. For the past few days since the last episode, they are the first thing that comes to my mind when I wake up. I think of their farewell scene (when V had to escape korea in a hurry) and I just start to cry all over again with my heart physically hurting. I'm a trainwreck and it's all Vincenzo's fault. I don't care if it's cliche but I really did want a happier, more direct ending. I can't even watch any other dramas now so I really don't know how long it will take for me to move on..
literally most of us rn. We got so attached to these characters and their beautiful story. I think the biggest reason why is because SJK and JYB just acted out every emotion so perfectly that it was bound to happen. My heart aches when I think of how far they've come and their last look to each other before Vincenzo leaves just breaks my heart. But at least we know, they finally confessed and will be together in the end. And same, I don't think I can get into any dramas for a while. The next one I will for sure watch is JYB's drama Glitch but I don't think I'll be over Vincenzo anytime soon
Same. I'm usually like "whatevs" with open / sad kdrama endings (idgaf about CLOY's ending and was like "alright"), but this one GUTTED ME. I'm having trouble moving forwards and I really wish they gave us a shot of Malta or a more directly happy ending. This is the most wonderful non toxic realistic realtionship I have witnessed in kdramas. I just love both characters on their own. They are both equally strong and care for each other bc they WANT to and LOVE each other not because they depend on each other. The fact that Chayoung knew immediately Vincenzo was part of the Mafia but never told him to change is what I always needed from a female lead. To accept her partner for who he really is. She supported him even though she knows its wrong because that the only way Vincenzo could achieve “justice”. She always apologized if she crossed the line (first kiss and hug). She never made him choose between her and his Italian family. She’s strong inside out. I know for one that Vincenzo will always be loyal to Chayoung even if they aren’t by each other’s side 24/7 because its their souls that are intact to one another. Their bond is really strong compare to any other kdrama couples.

Chayoung being chaotic af while Vincenzo giving out a “I don’t give af” energy. There was never a toxic or immature moment between them. They grew closer, had deep conversations, gave advices and let one another do what they want, were never forceful to one another and were there for each other when they needed someone the most. I just love everything about their relationship.

Here's what broke me: When in the early part of the drama cha young ask vincenzo if he ever killed someone, he lies and say no, then he ask what she would think of him if he was that kind of person. Cha young replies that she would still speak to him but it would feel like if they belonged to two very different worlds, and that Vincenzo would appear to her like a painting to watch from far away. When at the art gallery Vincenzo says "war and art are supposed to be looked from far away". He repeats this in the last episode. Finally, when Vincenzo is leaving after the kiss, cha young looks at him from far away just like she was looking at the painting just some moments before. He appears between two walls, the music change to a melancholic melody, then he disappear. They belong to two completely different worlds. She is a lawyer in Korea and he is a criminal hiding in Malta. What broke me about his drama and I thought was just perfect is this bitter sweet ending.

To everyone calling this a 'bittersweet ending', please don't!! It's absolutely a *sweet* ending! A man like Vincenzo would never leave *after* he confesses to a woman he is in love with, by kissing her LIKE THAT lol.
He came back to her with an ironclad plan, an island, a changed profession, and an undoubtable confession. He kept his restraint throughout the show, and showed his affection openly *only* after he had a plan to come back.
He sent her those postcards with a clear intention to keep her thinking of him, because he *always* planned to come back to her someday (there are 11 postcards starting literally from the month he left), plus all the gold he has yet to sort.
He would *never* keep her bound to him if he couldn't make it back into her life permanently, because she matters the most to him, so he wouldn't give her anything halfway.
It would always be all of him, or nothing.
In this case, it was *ALL* of him.
He told her his true feelings *only* when he was ready to give and receive all the love that he thought he didn't deserve before.
My man took a whole YEAR to prepare an island into a home, probably building a whole bungalow for her which he was calling a 'room', changed his whole ass profession into a vigilante, simply because he plans on being with HCY long term!
I can *very* easily see them spending their time in Malta and also South Korea in the future.

I’ve never seen this thought any where; and I’m curious to know what you think. I suspect Vincenzo began to have a liking towards cha young, the day he visited her dad and asked if he had another daughter. Clearly cha young had blossomed into a beautiful young lady compared to her pictures from when she was young. He must have deduced she was a lonely child, a bit like him: I have come to ‘understand’ of course I could be wrong, that ‘unattractiveness’ is not exactly celebrated in Kore. There is a big emphasis on beauty. Beautiful people are liked more, have preferential treatment, more friends etc. I suppose one could argue that it’s like that every where; but I think it is especially so in the South Korean society. I recall seeing Vincenzo look at Cha young differently when she came to her dad’s house when he was there. It is a clever script and Song Joong Ki cleverly expressed nuanced emotions and thoughts.

I noticed throughout the drama Vicenzo always looked to Chayoung for assurance/checking if she’s okay. Especially when he was about to do something mafia-like that might take Chayoung by surprise. She always give him a subtle nod telling him it’s okay/she’s alright. Example, when he came back from the airport, before he fought those thugs, he looked back at Chayoung as if asking for permission. I’m gonna miss this drama so much!

This show just destroyed my desire to watch any other k-drama.Because I know nothing is going to be like Vincenzo.I am dying for season two.Please come back with season two.It's been three days but this show is still running on my mind.They showed a very minimalistic romance which is amazing.The amount of romantic scene was very less but still very heavy on meaning.Just can't forget those three hugs and two kisses.
I watch kdramas nowadays, but dropped them halfway and go back to Vincenzo again..and again.. Vincenzo brainrotting hits me hard🤦🏻♀️🙍🏻♀️

The second kiss was not in the script, it was yeobeen’s idea. Joongki said that he also thought about it too and the director agreed so they did it. Their chemistry is top notch.

this scene was so beautiful pls - vincenzo was always afraid to take the first step because he thought that he didn't deserve love because of his mafia side, hence why chayoung always initiated everything in the beginning (hugging, the fake kiss at the art exhibit, honest words). her actions that vincenzo was afraid to do first left him to respond to her, leading him to recognize his feelings. now that he's been gone for a year, he's realized how much he loves her and how much her presence meant to him. finally being with her after a year, he didn't want to miss his chance - so he kissed her first. he's accepted that they cannot have a relationship like a normal couple because he abides to the mafia life and different principles, just like chayoung does. but he's realized that he can have love, maybe not in a relationship where the couple is physically together, but always be their side (ost!) at heart. this kind of relationship would be tough, but vincenzo and chayoung love each other so much and truly understand each other. they’ve come a long way

This couple deserved more, the chemistry between the two of them was inexplicable. The best part was that they never officially declared themselves, they just knew they loved each other, no need for words, just actions.
This is one of the few best kissing scenes in kdrama history. It's not too much but it's very passionate. JYB breaking barriers for female actors. Her expression and small gestures speaks so much in this scene.
Vince protecting Chayoung's virtue and Chayoung acknowledging Vincenzo's darkness, have agreed to be this so much selfless. Indeed love is freeing to the point they never questioned each other and beg to stay ❤️

From the very first she accept Joongki for who he is despite his past and she has no worry at all about having good relationship with him since their first day. Love the allusion of Chilseok folk tales in this scene where the diplomatic celebration was the day they reunited. And also, his confession was bitter sweet and sad, but was definite GOLD. He practically determined to make her life stuck with him forever. That’s our corn salad 🥺
HCY deserve the whole universe. From the starting to the end HCY never force or manipulate him to stay with her or to spend time with her. If anyone needs V she always told him to go and help them. Even tho now V can't stay in Korea and she can see him once in year for one day but she support him and was happy for him. She told him that it's okay I can visit you if you can't. After find out V still a mafia and now become a boss she congrats him without any hesitate. HCY really love V but it doesn't mean you can prove your love by staying with the person you love. Their love has no boundaries. They both love, support and respect each other. Honestly I started this drama for SJK but fallen in love head over heels for JYB.

Vincenzo is hands off the best kdrama that ice ever watched. It displays everything so clearly and in an interesting yet simple way. Nothing complicated, just an absolute masterpiece.
They don't say "I love you" to each other but we can feel so much love in the air~~ Song Joongki and Jeon Yeobin chemistry really no jokes. I'm a fans of Joongki for almost 13 years, he always has a good chemistry with his co-star but I think this time, with Yeobin is his best best chemistry ever. They are really look so comfortable for each other, complement to each other and make a really beautiful scenes in every episode.

I have never been this emotionally distraught over a fictional kdrama couple before. For the past few days since the last episode, they are the first thing that comes to my mind when I wake up. I think of their farewell scene (when V had to escape korea in a hurry) and I just start to cry all over again with my heart physically hurting. I'm a trainwreck and it's all Vincenzo's fault. I don't care if it's cliche but I really did want a happier, more direct ending. I can't even watch any other dramas now so I really don't know how long it will take for me to move on..
literally most of us rn. We got so attached to these characters and their beautiful story. I think the biggest reason why is because SJK and JYB just acted out every emotion so perfectly that it was bound to happen. My heart aches when I think of how far they've come and their last look to each other before Vincenzo leaves just breaks my heart. But at least we know, they finally confessed and will be together in the end. And same, I don't think I can get into any dramas for a while. The next one I will for sure watch is JYB's drama Glitch but I don't think I'll be over Vincenzo anytime soon

This is the most wonderful non toxic realistic realtionship I have witnessed in kdramas. I just love both characters on their own. They are both equally strong and care for each other bc they WANT to and LOVE each other not because they depend on each other. Their relationship is just so well balanced, they make each other stronger. This is really goals. No wonder they gave everybody married couples vibes from the beginning. I really hope to see them pair up for another kdrama one day. Perfect chemistry. And yes for me this is also the best kiss I have seen. It’s passionate yet gentle and SO REAL. It’s like all their deep emotions are put into that. So satisfying.
