I'm a merchant mariner from China, currently loading cargo in Turkey. I just wanted to say that your videos are a true inspiration for anyone who loves sailing and ocean. After sailing for years, your videos kinda remind me of why I fell in love with sailing in the first place and I feel a real connection to the adventures you're sharing with us. As a merchant mariner, I know how tough and demanding at sea can sometimes be and the challenges that come along. Thank you for sharing your journey with us. Bond voyage!
Hello Family, Rene, my Uncle Jimmy was a sailor in WWII. When I was a child he took me deep sea fishing. I was worried about being seasick as we boarded. He said, "Don't worry, I brought some pickles." So hey yeah, that is a remedy with some history. Bon voyage.
@ My Cancer Journey well this RUclips isn't for everyone but whatever it may be you gotta be strong to fight this . I'll be glad to subscribe your channel..
It is crazy watching these kids grow up. Have I really been watching this long?!!? Congrats on the circumnavigation. I really enjoy your narration and the pickle advice is new to me.
I have just started ❤watching! I grew up in American Samoa and watching your kids grow up in this environment (on the ocean) as I did, has been amazing to watch.

You could see the water in the commode moving, so my body was used to motion. While sailing from Mazatlan to PV 200 miles off shore, I took the sea bands off. Bad mistake. We had been at sea for several days. Dropped the hook, explored the Isla Isabella, hiked up the ridge of an inactive volcano and watched Blue Footed Boobies in their nests, 400' above sea level (with NO OSHA regs, guard rails, etc.). Hooked up w a larger yacht, a catamaran. Bigger galley. We had just caught a pretty good sized Mahi Mahi. They were preparing homemade pasta, and we were set for an amazing meal. Yum? Not! I started getting sick. Thank God that the Captain's wife had me go to our boat, and I was on the floor in the salon holding on to the 60' mast base. Thin slice of ginger under the tongue. Was much better in less than 15 minutes. Ginger tea or stir fry anyone? Of course. 👍 Hope this helps. ⚘
For sea sickness I know of people who use isopropyl alcohol wipes apparently smelling them stops the seasickness. Probably similar to the pickles but not as tasty. All the best from Halifax Nova Scotia Canada

Hey Zatara. I saw a video on Sailing Doodles last week where he installed a star link on the trimaran he is using. You may want to see the video because he mentioned that Star Link was not letting yachts use the RV package but something different.
12:08- Sailing into the port of Finike after seeing those mountain peaks on the horizon peek out of the rain clouds reminded me of the wonder that mariners as far back as the Odyssey must have experienced. QUESTION: Over the years, as I've watched other sailing channels, I noticed that whenever there was fresh rain everybody would jump on deck with scrub brushes and start cleaning the deck whether they felt like it or not. As soon as you got the fresh rain in Turkey I expected everybody to do that but it didn't happen, and I was just curious why that was? This seems to be a pretty universal approach, and I was just wondering if you guys have a preferred way of cleaning the deck that doesn't involve scrubbing in the rain?

I have Star link, and I love it. Had horrible wind in northern Ohio this week. Many people lost power or internet for days. You set it up with the app on your phone. And you can buy a hard line adapter , or another mesh wifi router to really boost signal coverage. And speeds are great.
It's funny, first I stumbled across Finns' Channel, then Jacks' and the algorithm finally landed me on your (this) channel. I think it's great. You seem like a fun bunch!! I enjoy watching your videos. It's really cool what you're doing and sharing it with us is fantastic!! Cheers from Canada!! 🕶

I will never sail, but I am a huge fan of this channel. I am 55 now..born (1967) and slightly older than the channel patriarchs....big fan.. I might not do the fantastic things you all do, but there is still the 59 thing... I am getting close. You all inspire me to be closer....
I’ve been w you guys since the very beginning. I grew up alongside the kids and y’all kind of feel like family to me. Egypt is a scary place to travel to atm happy nothing major happened
My grandfather used to eat Candied Ginger for sea sickness, and he was a fisherman. I've had many others tell me ginger in any form works. I've personally never experienced sea sickness, or motion sickness of any kind.
Funny that Keith mentions Peplink. I was just looking at their different models, trying to decide which is just right for me. Some allow for 2 Starlink Dishes to be connected. That catch is that its 2 subscriptions, one for each dish. So 2x the monthly cost, but likely 2x the speed or just more reliable. Looking forward to Keith doing a How-To install of it.
I am so hooked on your great videos . They are so good they could be a Netflix show. I only found your channel a week ago and shared it on my Facebook. I am now on episode 80 but have watched some of your later ones. They keep me entertained and I get to see the world by not travelling. Your boys are so handsome and I enjoy their videos. Keep them coming. Your editing is so professional and music so well suited hope you have have good luck with Skylink not having internet all the time must not be the best.
I can't believe you left us with the Egypt cliffhanger! Next Thursday can't come soon enough! Although to be honest......I'm always ready for your Thursday episodes! Safe travels!
The vinegar is "pro"- "biotic" - which balances your stomach gymnastics. Same thing if you eat sour kraut - or olives. Just eat a can of olives and you'll feel great.
Your channel is fun to watch! In future episodes please have the boys play more music! We haven't gotten to see them play much, but when they do they are great on their guitars and for their age seem to be very talented!
Good video. Renee does such a great job. Couple of questions for Keith: (1) I think I noticed quite a bit of black smoke from your exhaust - how many hours are on the engines and when are they due for a major service or overhaul? (2) Following last year’s hurricane in Florida, many electric vehicles burst into flames after the lithium batteries were exposed to salt water - what are your present thoughts about the safety, desirability, and reliability of lithium batteries on a boat?
When I can, I tried to cast these videos to my TV. It is such an awesome experience watching it from a big screen. The video is so much better watching it this way. The quality, cinematography is amazing. So much more detail. I can't recommend it enough. Whole different experience. As always, awesome video!
I have to take Dramamine to keep from loosing my balance standing up. I would never be able to do what you guys do. Growing old sucks. But I have enjoyed watching your family experience the things I saw when younger. The world is an awesome place to journey in.
Thanks for the ride. I get to see the world through, someone’s education. I would like to try and learn sailing. I am watching from Evansville Indiana. So keep up the spirit. You are blessed. Safe travels.
Amazing to see how the kids are now . What a great experience. For your information Turkey name change to Türkiye. Your channel make travelling, love it so much ❤
Great video, Renee! Congratulations on the circumnavigation! How exciting. The kids have certainly got a great education. I love Finn spewing off French. Definitely good to know turkey friendly, Egypt not so much. That’s sad. You guys stay safe. Be happy be well. Love from California.💜🤗🤟🏻🇺🇸

I will never sail, but I am a huge fan of this channel. I am 55 now..born (1967) and slightly older than the channel patriarchs....big fan.. I might not do the fantastic things you all do, but there is still the 59 thing... I am getting close. You all inspire me to be closer....
Happy Easter, Sweet family. You all give such pleasure to us stuck on land! Sail on safely and thank you for giving me mini vaca’s!! Sending love 💗
I’ve been w you guys since the very beginning. I grew up alongside the kids and y’all kind of feel like family to me. Egypt is a scary place to travel to atm happy nothing major happened
Jack needs a boat and set out on a journey of his own. Film it of course. Safe travels
My grandfather used to eat Candied Ginger for sea sickness, and he was a fisherman. I've had many others tell me ginger in any form works. I've personally never experienced sea sickness, or motion sickness of any kind.
hiiii from turkey love your videos its amazing to watch you here in my own country
For motion sickness the best remedy are raw vegetables and herbal teas, especially ginger, fennel and peppermint.
Green or black?
Your channel is fun to watch! In future episodes please have the boys play more music! We haven't gotten to see them play much, but when they do they are great on their guitars and for their age seem to be very talented!
DEFINITLY BECOMING TRUE SAILORS
Good video. Renee does such a great job.
Couple of questions for Keith:
(1) I think I noticed quite a bit of black smoke from your exhaust - how many hours are on the engines and when are they due for a major service or overhaul?
(2) Following last year’s hurricane in Florida, many electric vehicles burst into flames after the lithium batteries were exposed to salt water - what are your present thoughts about the safety, desirability, and reliability of lithium batteries on a boat?
You guys are amazing! Lots of love from Türkiye
Prayer is the wings behind your sails.
Be safe on the water.🙏🏻💕
When I can, I tried to cast these videos to my TV. It is such an awesome experience watching it from a big screen. The video is so much better watching it this way. The quality, cinematography is amazing. So much more detail. I can't recommend it enough. Whole different experience. As always, awesome video!
I have to take Dramamine to keep from loosing my balance standing up. I would never be able to do what you guys do. Growing old sucks. But I have enjoyed watching your family experience the things I saw when younger. The world is an awesome place to journey in.
