I want to throw a comment in here and clear a few things up. With this being my passion and loving the job I have, my reputation means everything to me. I’m as open and honest as I possibly can be with everyone. I relay what I’m told, just as I’m told. The car originally had many blankets, the present cover and then a large painters mat wrapped around it. Before filming the PO threw out the covers, cleaned out around the car and appears to have wiped it down. You’ll notice how nasty the car is under the bumpers and on the front valence. If you look closely you can also see wipe marks on the windows and body panels. It can be deceiving for sure, even for me. Until we pull the car out on its 30+ year old tires and not a single wheel rolls free. In fact pulling it on the trailer, they were so locked down that it bogged out my 9500 winch and ripped the treads clean off some of the tires. Not to mention the fact the engine bay looks like heck and the engine was stuck. This one looks a bit too good to be true but there’s a specific reason/reasons. We’ve rescued hundreds of cars. As I lay under the little mustang cleaning up crusty parts, I feel confident with the timeline I was told. I hope this comment helps some to understand where I’m coming from. Thank you for those that have tagged along and enjoy what we have to share. I hope you all are having a great week.
I feel like most subscribers aren’t doubting you fellas! I really like that mustang, used to have a 1970 200 I6 medium lime metallic back in the day! Keep up the awesome content!
No need to for the disclaimer Michael, it's obvious you're a good, solid human! You'll be even more solid if you sell me that 911 one day though. Just sayin ;)
No federal investigations with me. I just enjoy watching you fella's. tired when you finish but I don't have to get the grease from under my nails.
Great car and enjoy your Ride brother
Someone tried before looking at the battery and the new radiator hose. That’s all.
Keep it stock, like the original hub cups and engine. Well done
You’ve got that right! Thank you!
I dot know why people are like that as soon as a car has been sitting for a bit they take the gold care apart for nothing thinking theres a problem when theres not of people just have to rip out the origional drive train and changeing every thing with a big moter and ruining the car I hate that ideal do
If that was mine it would be in a heated garage and never get wet or cold
Auto ,one shit is madi I mexico stick with factory moto.craft factory's allways better
@@rickwaldron4255 what's your opinion on t5 swapping aswell as a dual bowl master cylinder
I'd love to own a Mustang Coupe like this. Inline 6 with a manual sounds like a fun cruiser
And if you get the 4 speed box even better
definitely worth saving
They are. Lightweight, decent handling, fun little ride.
@@willybones3890 yes sir
So did we new in 66, hot in HS then, came out on the other side buying a Shelby GT 350 in 1970.
Yeah! This car is awesome! So original even with all the documents! Please restore it fully and make it look and drive like brand new! It would sell incredibly good and give so much to the classic car community.
The value isn't there to do a full restore on a 6 cylinder coupe. The only way that makes sense is if you have a emotional attachment to the car or just plan to keep it a long time and don't care about losing money. For someone that's just flipping cars, a full restore cost more then the cars is worth.
@@Fordman7575 Yes, I guess you're right. But he can repaint it himself in his booth. And to do that he has to remove the rust anyways.
@@simoneuler7073 That car is in good enough shape to just clean it up, do the mechanicals repairs needed to make it safe and just drive and enjoy it. There's not really any need to try and make it show room new condition. For someone to do that, it would have to be a labor of love. And he doesn't even like Mustangs.
Yes it is an awesome car!
Nice interior too with the bucket seats, center console and sport guages, it just needs the factory wood type sport steering wheel, with the 3 chrome spokes and the round holes in them, and you got one of my favorite 60's interiors.✌
It needs fuel.before it pumps dummy
Awesome. these survivors are so much more appealing, than fully restored cars. yes mechanical rebuild. But leave it as original as you can. loved it.
Thank you! That’s the plan! Glad you enjoyed!
Hi there all the way from South Africa 🇿🇦
Your videos reminds me of the best times I had working on car with my late dad
Please keep them coming, you guys do great work in saving these lost and forgotten "treasures "
Great job on getting this gem running. Grandpa had a 65 that was his "work truck" for selling/delivering eggs. I used to ride with him on his delivery route. He was in and out of the trunk so much that he left the trunk key in the lock. Wore the chrome and all the raised mustang emblems off the key. When the family parted with the car, no one could remove the trunk key. My dad currently has a 66 convertible w/289, blue w/white top.
Those ford 6. Cylinders are almost indestructible. Enjoyed this start. Sitting so long the pressure plate might be rusted. No a big problem. Might as well do a new clutch and throw out bearing. Redo brakes you got a running driving car. Thank you for sharing!
True that! Glad you enjoyed!! Sounds like a plan! 😃
😱Got dang, its my Mustang! I had that same color 66 with the same 6 banger under the hood with a 3 speed hurst standard stickshift without the console (didn't have 2 tone seats) when I was 16 years old, wow!!!! You found my car, I swear you did except for the few differences. Thanx!
Thanks for rescuing this sweet old forgotten Mustang!!! 👍👍
😊😊😊
Outstanding! Love that you're doing this to save these forgotten vehicles from going to the crusher (or worse!) and the way you're resurrecting them is pure fun. :)
Thanks so much! We definitely have a great time! We’ve saved 3 cars straight from the scrapyard recently that will be on the channel soon! We hate to see them rotting or crushed’
Fantastic find! It's a beautiful little Mustang. I used to only like the V8s but this V6 is such a cool car.
Straight 6, not V6.
@@DarkFlamage Yes you're right😆 Straight six, of course!
Thank you! Never considered owning a 6 cylinder mustang 😅 but this one was too cool not to!
i have the seam ford Mustang but a V8 ( 302 manual ) .i likit! can't wait to see the finish product. wish you luck !
Very nice!! Can’t wait to share more! Thanks!
You got me with the "lets spray some ether and see if it starts".
Love that color. Great content.
😄😄😄 Thank you! Glad you’re enjoying!
I had a 66 that was that same color both internal and body back in the 80s and 90s but it had a 289. Wish I still had that car. Thanks for bringing back some memories. Good to hear this old girl run. It is so hard to kill those inline 6s.
Nice!! I bet it was a sweet ride!
Ooohhhhh yeah!! Let’s go! I drive a ‘14 GT vert with 6 sp manual. Love it.
😃😃 Nice!!
Wowwwwwwwwwwwww the Mustang is amazing. Pristine for the years. I love love love the blue Mustang. You find a treasure. I'm from Guadalajara México. In my country is so incredible hard find cars like this Mustang. Hola desde México
My Dad sold those new. The first Mustang in my home town 64 1/2 was his demo. It lasted a week before it was sold. it went like that for all of 65-66 they couldn't stock them fast enough. The majority of those were optioned just as you see that one. Inline 6 3 spd manual. A lot of memories there.
Very cool!!
That's not a 64ana half it's a 66 the 64 and 65 s speedometer registered 120 the 66 registered 140
@@jameslester7253 No one said this one was a 64 and a half.
This is my absolute FAVORITE body style of Mustang...first gen...and I've always wanted to own one with a hi-po 289 and a 4 speed in red.
She's beautiful girl. Love that powder blue. Great find...
Thanks so much!
I know this is an old video, but I love this channel, I love the way in the earlier videos your Dad is on the camera less, but now is just as enthusiastic as you are, your channel has inspired me to maintain and keep my 25 year old Mercedes running. I'll be going through as many of your videos as I can.
Now that was a lot of fun ! Love working on those old cars.
Thanks! There’s nothing like it! 😃
Makes me miss my 66 289 convertible
Beautiful car Michael, looking forward to future videos about this car, Really enjoy your channel God bless
Thank you! Can’t wait to share more! Really glad you’re enjoying!! 😃
Good Seeing You & Your Dad Rescuing This ‘66 Mustang, Good Looking Rig!!
I love these old mustangs. They're simple to work on.
Great episode! Love old Classic rescues!
Miss my 65 coupe, settling on my dads 69 Fastback (awesome car) which is minutes away from a frame off restomod, but the 65 coupe with a 289 and 4 speed top loader was my first mustang and for my twenties my daily driver. Was the car I started dating my future wife in. I think I’m gonna cry. Bless u saving another.
That is one beautiful car! Nice job getting her running again!
Thank you!!
Amazing find chaps! If you choose to let this one go, happy to take it off your hands!
Thank you! Sounds like a plan! 🙂
My Brother had a’67 289, 4 barrel, 4speed, $100. 00 bondo bucket car in 1975, but what a car, we thought we were Paul Newman ripping around town. Sounds like a great plan for it, tons of Smiles per gallon, thanks for sharing it with us.
Haha nice!!! Bet that was fun! Absolutely, I hope you enjoyed 🙂
It kills me how original owners can just let these classics rot away in barns...i`d give my left nut to own one of these beauties.
Nice too see you guys got this classic back up and running. I envy the new owner i`d Love to be driving around in Toronto Canada in one of these babies. great job boys.
I'm a VW guy but that is a cool car and in GREAT condition! Love the fact that it is a manual trans. I am guessing a 3 speed(typed this before watching to the end)?? Will you reveal the asking price?
It’s in surprisingly nice condition for sure! The car was wrapped up with blankets, this cover and another on top of that before we got to filming(owner removed and threw away). No biggie but we missed the opportunity to really reveal her, kept her in great shape though! Sure we will let everyone know what we’ll be asking, if we decide to let it go 🙂
I have never been a fan of the Mustang, but I gotta say: You did find a Gem. I enjoyed watching this one. Keep up the good work.
Thanks bud!
I really like your videos. It's really nice to see you're getting more confident on the camera, and you explain stuff really well. Keep on the good work.
I’m really glad you’re enjoying! Thanks so much for the kind comments!
Man, I love the sound of the starter when those old Fords are cranking during a challenging start!
Congratulations! Will See you on The Next One!!
Good find! Brilliant that is is original with the documentation, fantastic. Looking forward.to seeing its journey!
Thanks so much! Can’t wait to share!
This is a great find
Cant wait for more content on the mustang
Keep it oem
Thanks! Can’t wait to share more! That’s the plan 😃
You are the resurrection King! 👍
😊😊
Sweet find mate 😀 Hopefully the damp hasn't made the underside and unpainted areas too crispy. Will be a neat little whip once roadworthy again 👍
I had a 67 coupe like that back in high school. Good memories. Can't wait to see it driving.
Nice car Michael. Amazing what lurks under peoples houses.
Thanks! I know right!
Seriously....one acorn in the carb! There must be something wrong with the critters from that storage space. What a sweet find. Looking forward to the next video on it.
I would say the owner cleaned it out before placing it up for sale. That's why the air filter was gone.
Haha 😂 I know right! The air filter was in the trunk so maybe a recent removal. Thank you! Can’t wait to share more!
I remember the first Mustang I ever saw . I was 9 years old ,it was a 1965 Red two door with white interior. The man had just bought it in Raleigh NC and his maiden journey ,he was driving down to Atlantic Beach . He had stopped by the store my Grandma ran to get something to drink and some snacks . I never forgot that car .
Cool find!! Love those 1st gen mustangs!! And the fact it's a manual!
Thanks!
I could be mistaken, but I believe on the Mustang, automatic transmission was an option. The general assembly line was all manual.
@@twinkie27271 maybe. I just like the manual.
She’s still a beauty! Boy a v8 would look at home in that bay!👌😎👍great find!
Thanks! She’s surprising for sure! Ooohh I bet it would! Maybe we’ll save the V8 for a Fastback though 😉
@@BudgetBuildz that’s one great idea too!😎👍
Love that car. Always liked the older Mustang.
Such a great episode. I really enjoy the enthusiasm in your guys voice!
Thanks so much! Really glad you enjoyed! We really had a fun time with this one!
Another brilliant piece with a great story. The paperwork is just worth so much. originality is everything.
I do hope you keep it as near 'as found' as you can while making it roadworthy. Keep the dints and chips as they are part of its story.
And get White Wall tyres. '60s Fords HAD to have White Walls!
Thank you! You hit the nail on the head with all of that! 😃
@@BudgetBuildz Most welcome!
The interior in that car looks pristine.
It’s definitely held up surprisingly well! Very musky but with a clean up, should be sharp.
I would love to own a Mustang of that year. I love the older models this coming from a Ford man. Lover of Stangs
Beautiful mustang
Thank you!
Brilliant find .beautiful car well done 👏
Thanks so much!
My wife would love a mustang like that
MY first car was a 68 mustang ,that is one clean pony
Very nice!
Reminds me of my first car a 64 1/2 260/289 Mustang. She was a fun car. I bought it in 1981 when it was just a used car for $2000 with a new paint job. I owned it for 5 years.
Very cool! Can’t find them like that anymore!
Totally awesome ! that first start i though here we go baby !!
Thank you!! 😃😃
Nice find! I'd give this little Mustang a home up here in the Great White North. Looking forward to the next installment of this feature.
Lovely original car. Please don't hot rod it. Thanks for sharing! :)
Definitely not the plan! Hope you enjoyed!
I helped a guy rebuild his 64 1/2 mustang,it was in mint condition and he put on a offenhouser intake/exhaust w headers and duals, sounded awesome w glasspacks, after a few years he sold it
Nice and simple straight 6.. They will run FOREVER
True that 😃
You check to see if it was numbers matching, did it have the original build sheet? Two good things to have for resale but one of the nicer cars you've rescued, great upload
Looks like someone got ahold of the build sheet from behind the cluster! ☹️ From research, it looks I can get an exact replica of it though! It is a numbers matching car though. It’s definitely the nicest thing we’ve pulled home…can’t stay long 🥴 Thanks!
@@BudgetBuildz Ya, I've heard there is a company, name escapes me right now that can give you printout based on the numbers. Anyways, nice one and love watching. The old Porsche hooked me :)
Look under the back seat for a build sheet.
What a good looking survivor 👍
Look forward to seeing it rolling down the highway 😎🇺🇸
At Kerry Pierre... FRENCH? Just like The Bauchman Turner Overdrive song from 1974. Rolling Down The Hyway..
Thanks! Can’t wait to!
@@tonyfriend7413 yep... Cajun French, Irish and Native 👍🇺🇸
Great looking Mustang! My wife has always wanted a 66 Mustang to park in the garage next to my 68 Valiant.
Thanks!! Ooo that would be a good looking pair!
Love your videos! I've got to be one of those people and comment. After messing with all kinds of cars (a lot of Fords) for 50+ years, I have NEVER had one of the Ford style starter relays bad. It seems every utube (not just yours) I watch they all are bad (also never I've never had a bad ignition coil unless damaged, leaking or crushed). Cleaning out my Dad's old shop I have found 5 or 10 of these relays taken off scraped cars and none of them have tested bad. They all will pull 200 + amps. Keep the videos coming.
My not big ford or mustang guy but that is a beautiful car an like the color of it thanks for sharing
nice car
Thank you!
such a beautiful piece. Great job, guys
Thank you!!
probably the best old car find I have seen, that car is in pristine shape relative to the age.
I'm so glad you got to run it and having the 300 straight 6 with a three speed is a bonus!! We had a car show once in Ft Myers FL and someone brought one like this in a coupe model But he had gone to Clifford Research and purchases some parts to upgrade the motor then proceeded to put in enderle injection and a four speed Hurst tranny, he Also blueprinted the engine and man would That' thing FLY! Oh a Ford 9" rear helped a lot!!
The car appears to be a Sprint 200. 200 cy six, no side spears on the body, chrome air cleaner, and chrome brake reservoir cap.
C'mon Man....Go you know the thing ..😊...I had a 1970 Ford Fairlane 500 back in the 1990's that had a 300 straight 6 .Automatic
As soon as I clicked on the video I liked because I already new it was gunna be good
Thank you! I hope you enjoyed it!!
That’s really nice!
Thank you!!
Hi, I think it's a Sprint 200, has the wire wheelcovers and the console and I believe I saw the sticker on the aircleaner.
I believe you’re correct! It has everything that signifies it being a Sprint 200!
What is the significance of being a sprint i love mustangs.does that make it a rarer car?snooky pa.🤟💥👍
@@allensnook7760 it has a few items as standard. Wire wheelcovers, striping, console and chrome aircleaner
Sweet old girl that needs to be back on the road. I had a Mustang II as a kid. Does that count? 🤔😃
Thanks! Can’t wait to have her back to cruising! Oh yeah 😃 that’s a cool ride!
Sweet little Mustang it's real cool it's a straight drive
please use Motorcraft 10W-30 and a Motorcraft FL1A filter. Thanks....LOL great video, great car
I normally have a stocked shelf of FL1As 😩 I was out and apparently so was everyone locally lol. After a good run and flush she’ll get a factory motorcraft! 😃 Thanks, glad you enjoyed!

Truly a worth while running
Revival!😂😉👌😎
Be sure to add some zinc additives to the oil because today's oil does not have enough zinc to work properly with a flat tappet cam. They need a lot more zinc to prevent wear.
Very clean little mustang. Clean it up, maybe some wheels and leave it at that. Cool cruiser. 🇦🇺🇦🇺👍👍
Thank you! Sounds like a plan!! 😃
