Thx Brian, I purchased 3 new vtech handsets to go with my single vtech base and single vtech handset. Registering the new handsets was very difficult using the instructions that came with the handsets. Your video was simple to follow and provided the correct instructions for deregistering and then registering all four handsets. Thank you!!
BLESS YOUR HEART!!! I've owned my VTech DS6321-3 phone for over 10 years without any issues, and then suddenly in the past few weeks, I've kept getting the out of range, no power error message, without changing any of the locations of the phones. I first thought it was the batteries, even though I just changed them 2 years ago and they still showed a full charge. New batteries didn't fix it. So, I searched, and I've watched around 8-10 other RUclips videos, all giving some sort of 5-8-digit code after pressing *...then # and not getting anywhere. Then, I came to yours! First, your directions were super simple and catered more to my model of VTech phone, and whoa, it worked! I had to repeat the process a couple of times for whatever reason when it didn't register the 1st or 2nd time and then suddenly, it was registered! All 3 handsets are now registered and like 3 new phones once again! You saved me from purchasing a new phone and saving me over $100.00 and kept this phone from the landfill. Thank you so, so much and I hope karma blesses you and you have a Blessed Thanksgiving and upcoming holiday season!
Well bro I don't know if your still saving lives in 2024, but you just saved me from buying a new house phone, which the family hardly uses but it's nice to have a hard kine in the house. I didn't want to buy a new phone especially when I knew my vtec was still working, it just zonked out on me after a power failure... thx from Ontario Canada
The manual that I got with my phone told me to check the manual in the box for further instructions... but that was the manual that came in the box....
Lol for some reason your comment reminded me of Tropic Thunder when Robert Downey Jr. Says "I'm a dude playing a dude disguised as another dude" lmao 🤣 cheers
Thanks for the simple, to the point video which solved my phone issue. It really helps to have quick and easy instructions like these, especially when you're frazzled and impatient from previous days of trying to fix the problem with no luck.
Thank you! I've been fooling around trying to figure out how to de-register and re-register, to no avail. You and your video finally showed me the solution, so now I have three phones working off one base, yay. You're a master and my hero of the day.
Brian - Your video was wonderful! I started to look to see how to sync phones on VTech's website and users manual, but wasn't sure what they were saying about it. I happened across your video and you explained it so well. Within a few minutes I had all 4 phones sync(ed) and working. VTech should hire you to do videos for them. Thanks again!
Just have to tell you how amazing this video is! Thank you so much! I just bought a phone from eBay (threw the old one until it was smashed, it took 3 throws). I didn't think the new one was going to work with my old handset, thanks to your video it's now up and running!
so you had a phone from another set, and you could connect it to your base? My phone I got 2nd hand always says "base out of range", and doesnt deregister when I deregister my other phone. My other bases don't have a "Find handset" button... Any suggestions?
I found the answer here: www.fixya.com/support/t5381429-vtech_cordless_reads_out_range_or_no - pretty much press "Menu Select" on your phone, then immediately type "*7890#". This enters a test mode. You should now see Test Base at the top of the screen press the Vol up button until Test Handset is present. Press Menu/Select and you should see SW Version displayed. Press Vol up button until you see regstr clear, then press Menu Select and then Menu Select again.
Thanks, I had to replace a handset. I found a replacement on eBay. Mine is originally from 2007, and I had to press Find Handset until the light blinked, press Find Handset again, then put a handset in the cradle for 4 seconds, then repeat pressing the Find Handset, & put the second handset in the base cradle for 4 seconds. This older model registers by putting the handset in the cradle. Totally easy after watching your video for the idea.
Thank you very much for doing this video Brian, I have just bought in the new VTEC system but it did not explain how to register a separate purchased phone. It talked about placing the phone on the base but I have a corded base not a wireless base and there was no explanation. So thank you very much for doing this video I have now been able to successfully registered that phone to the base and it works just fine again thank you
Thank you so much! I was worried I would have to return the new phone but I work at home and really needed it. Thank you!! Great video and very easy to understand and follow.
Thanks for the information.. at first it wasn't working I saw another video saying I had to derigister my old set then reregister on the new set. They all work now. Thanks again. 😁
This is the most wonderful video. I watched others that to me made my head spin. You spoke clearly, the video matches what you are saying and even I can do it now! Thank you so much!
Thank you so very much for this video. It really helped! For no reason, all of a sudden my phone showed the message "Out of range or no power at base". I followed the directions in your video to fix the problem. It took a little time for it to work for me. At first, I was getting nothing... no change. Then all of a sudden I got a message that said "Registering" But, that was followed by "Register failed". But, I kept trying it. Finally, it worked! I think I was holding the find headset button for too long or maybe not for long enough. Either way if finally worked. Thank you so much!
Do me a favor, don't take down this video! I used this for a reference when I added a phone to my base a few years ago. Now I am adding another soon. Great reference since I lost the manual to the original phone.
Thank you so much! It worked like a charm, after I went to base to the headset 2, like you suggested. Now I have a phone downstairs in my office and a phone upstairs in my room. Thanks again!
This was extremely helpful, I couldn't find this info anywhere else! I tried tech support but they wouldn't help me because I'm not a resident of the United States. Unfortunately my new phone doesn't connect to my old headsets. I just pressed the "find headset" button on my old base and the old phones responded to it... I tried unregistering them multiple times, but they still respond to the base. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.
Hey Brian, You have been most helpful. I have been through all the steps and can only register 1 phone that came with the new base set I bought. The other handsets continually says not registered. I have tried un-register and register but only get the not registered. The base unit for the other handsets was fried by lightening
Thanks mate! My first 2 phones I didn't have to register......so when I added a 3rd phone, I was confused when registering came across the screen then failed. Eazy Peazy
+Hey Hey OK let me ask something about your setup...1-do you have any other phones working? if so then go and de-register all other phones...next 2- register ONLY the phone that doesn't work....3- if this works then de-register the other phones and test each one AFTER registering
Hey I just got one of these phone/red\I did every thing you said the base light come on but the hand set want do any thing.Do you know why it doing that.
Very strange, how the directions that came with the phone doesn't tell you HOW TO REGISTER the extra handsets...Press POUND! Also, Mr. Williams, how are you doing?
Brain, I like your video. But need your help if possible! I have the CS6229-3 hand sets and need to set the on the CS6229-2 base. The hand sets are just saying connecting and thats it.The other base shorted out in a storm the other day, thats why I am using this new base the CS6229-2. Can you help?
Hi Brian I have a question our old handset broke so we bought a new one so how do we register it to the old base if the old handset is broken? (They're the same model)
Quite frankly I didn't have to do that to add an accessory phone to the two that I already had! I just placed the accessory phone on my base and it programed its self automatically!

I'm a bit late in the game but your video is keeping me in it. It was explained in a simple but concise manner. Many thanks. 👍👍👍

Saved me so much hassle. I unregistered 3 handsets from their bases then registered them with new base Thanks so very much. Your a life saver.
Thanks my friend, I tried 100 videos and I almost gave up, and yours is the ONLY ONE that Worked 💪
Really good video. Simple to the point and it works. Really irritating the vtech manual does not cover this procedure. Thank you Brian.
The manual that I got with my phone told me to check the manual in the box for further instructions... but that was the manual that came in the box....

I was able to register one additional phone without disabling the prior two phones. Thankyou very much for your assistance.

Thanks for sharing Brian. Your directions were clear and concise. Much better than the manufacturer.

Thanks Brian! I don't know why they stopped working, but they work again now.
It took multiple tries, but I got it to work. Thanks!
Thanks for the video! To anyone wondering, the manual says that the CS6609 will support up to 5 devices.
Thank you very much for doing this video Brian, I have just bought in the new VTEC system but it did not explain how to register a separate purchased phone. Worked like a charm with Vtech CS6919 Had to repeat the registering process for the second handset. Thank you so much!
Great instructions. It was very helpful. VTech user manual had no instructions to set up an unregistered handset so thanks!!!

Love this video, I was on another video that was way too complicated. Where you have to enter some numbers but this is way easier
Thank you so much for this! My user manual had no information about this at all, it just said to "see manual" hahaha, you're a life-saver!
