I have unearthed this system from the back of my closet, and I am using your guidelines to get going with the phone (and its twin). Thanks for the clear explanation. Not related, but the surf music in the beginning is fantastic!

@kayla vang - Could mean your phone base isn't plugged in or getting power. First thing to do is check that out - make sure it's plugged in and getting power. Aside from that, your phone should work a good distance from the base. We use ours on one floor with the base on the floor above or below with no issues... But there is a range - if you go too far - like way outside, it might not work. Returning it to it's charging base should get it to start working again. Other than those two things, I'd suggest contacting the customer service for troubleshooting.

Has a pretty good speakerphone because the speakerphone is pretty loud. So that's AA plus😊😅😅😅
@Nate Patti This phone doesn't have call blocking so far as I know...
We have a similar one with the answering machine (we have voicemail so we don't use), half our our handsets have gotten lost/malfunctioned, but it originally had 5 handsets... they're durable as we've dropped them a lot, but the battery dies easily if you make several calls while it's off the base.
I haven't had the battery problems myself, but maybe I got luck? The handsets are pretty durable. It's not a phone I expect to last for 10 years, but it's still going strong for us after 3 years.
BEST PHONE SYSTEMS IN THIS WORLD - I have used them for about 20 years.

Wow, I didn't realize this phone had been around for this long! I am trying to figure out how to use the headset with it. I can answer a call but I can't figure out how to press an option (like #1) while using the headset.

Too your knowledge, can you buy these separate and pair them? We bought the stand alone first… now we have to buy the phone with the large docking charging port.
I think SOME phones can be bought separately and added to the system, but I don't think necessarily every VTECH phone will work with every VTECH system so you'd have to do some digging to make sure a specific phone would work with your system.
I just got a vtech 6.0 phone and found it was not in English..I went by the directions in order to change the language from French to English and it didn't work. I never saw the "Select" as the instructions indicated as in selecting a language, finally was exhausted in trying to change the language and took the phone to Walmart and a tech finally got the word "Select" on the monitor and managed to change from French to English, she said she was simply lucky that it worked because by the instructions "Select" did not appear on the monitor as the instructions indicated. I'm giving this phone to a charitable organization. And the screen is so dim I'm not able to view it clearly.

I’ve had this phone for years. How do I resolve the “out of range or not power at base” dilemma? This message just popped up today. Prior to this, the phone worked fine; now it’s not working at all. Checked the base & the power is fine.
I'm afraid I might not be much help since I don't have the phone anymore. In this video my phone has that message because I unplugged my base station. It basically means your phone isn't able to make a connection with the base station. I would try unplugging everything/powering everything off, then back on and see if that resets it.
@Kamakiri Sassorichan - sorry, I guess I didn't think to because it's pretty much just your normal standard ringer. It rings like what I would consider a "normal" phone ring...
hollywoodfrodo Hello! The Dtmf "long tone" isnt working on a call. checked the settings menu and there isn't a place to turn them on or off? called my service provider to trouble shoot this issue. they say its a hardware issue. I am in a knot..
Hmmm... Have you tried calling Vtech Customer support or emailing them? I never had an issue with the tones to access voicemail and things of that nature. I've heard that sometimes if using a phone over VOIP it can happen with some phones.
called them... there troubles shooting support team is awful. there best advise was to disconect the power cord for a hour and give them a call back if the issue was not resolved. I honestly think its a network issue in my area. I think..... thanks for your reply.

Mine older one slowly lost ringer volume till I couldn't hear it ring. The the new "no phone jack" design.

Maybe... If you put it on speakerphone... But I don't know for sure - I'd suggest calling some random company you know has automated answering and then try it out and see if it works.

OK folks if you have a vtech that says no power at base or out of range do exactly as I post here and you wont have to buy another phone Because not one person on you tube has solved this problem but a guy on woot did by calling vtech so enjoy kiddies:)
Plugged it up and got the no power at base or out of range error message on all handsets.
Couldn't find nothing on it online, so gave vtech a call and actually got to speak to someone. And it was pleasant to boot! :-)
Here's the official fix to this issue -
Make sure base station serial number matches all handsets serial numbers.
If they don't match you will have to de-register the units.
De-register the base station by holding the find handset button for 10 secs or until the In Use light illuminates, release the button and then tap it once more. You should hear a short beep followed by a longer beep.
Press Menu Select and the press the following without pause - *7890#
You should now see Test Base at the top of the screen press the Vol up button until Test Handset is present.
Press Menu/Select and you should see SW Version displayed. Press Vol up button until you see regstr clear, then press Menu Select and then Menu Select again.
At the handset remove the battery for 15 secs and then place the battery back into the handset. You should see 1. Place handset ... 2. press # on the handset screen. DO NOT FOLLOW THE ON SCREEN DIRECTIONS.
Next place the Handset on the base station and press the find handset button for 4 secs until the In Use light shows up. Remove the handset and press the # button.
Your handset should now display Handset 1. You can do all the other handsets the same way.

KB MILLER Thanks for providing these directions! They were very helpful! On my CS6114 phone, the steps were a little different. After SW Version appeared, I had to select something different besides regstr clear (can't remember the selection) , but it took me to regstr clear. Also, the handset attempted to register right after I reinstalled the battery and pressed #. It didn't complete registering; so, I put the handset on the base station and proceeded to complete the instructions above.

What do you mean, "set" the caller ID? Caller ID is a feature you add to your landline phone service and then the phone automatically shows the info on the handsets when someone calls, unless they have disabled on the caller's end because it is a scammer or robocall, or other oddity.
I've just changed providers and, lost msg recorder and greeter. Have had phone long, long time and forgot how to record, set ringer & greeting.😥😥

I don't see anything in the manual about Voicemail. I threw away the box and receipt. I didn't think they made phone nowadays without voicemail.
+Trisha Da Silva Voicemail isn't "on your phone" - if your phone comes with an answering machine then it's part of the phone, but voicemail is generally electronic and is handled by your service. This phone does interact with your service and will show you how many voicemails you have and allow you to access them, but this unit does not have a built in answering machine.
HELP WITH ANNOUNCEMENT.
5 days ago I just set this phone up for my grandma who lives 60 miles away, went back a second time to help her change the number of rings, but now she can't receive voicemails! When you dial her number, the machine comes on, letting you leave a voicemail (yet she can't hear it on her end). The phone receives the voicemail but when she presses PLAY, the phone claims she has no messages. I tried and tried to help her over the phone, looking at the manual and a picture of the phone all at once, and I've come to THINK all I need to do is change the announcement to on/off(???) I HAVE NO IDEA. Can someone please walk me step by step in clear, easy and accurate instructions on how to turn on receiving messages? YES, her answer is ON, both on the deck and on her handheld.

Both of my phones are cordless and both have a base. Only one plugged into the phone jack though. I didn't have to do anything special - just turned them both on next to each other, then moved the extra one to the room I wanted it in.

i cannot hear any dial tone on my vtech 6032.. the other party can hear me but i can hear them. may have pushed the tone button not sure. tried to reboot by unlugging and pulling out batteries but this does not work. can you help me to fix this...URGENT

hello Frodo, I have a phone like that (VTech Cordless Phone System - DECT 6.0) then the one unit is not working. Its says on screen 1.PRESS FIND HS ON BASE 4 SEC. 2. THEN PRESS # ON HANDSET. I follow the instructions but its not go through, it says REGISTERING FAILED. Can you please help me to resolve this problem.thank you

Unfortunately, I can't help. I still have the phone but never use it since I use my cell phone 100% now. But USUALLY 3-Way calling is handled by your service provider and they are the ones who would have to tell you how to activate it through their service...
