Talia currently lives in Austin, Texas, with her partner Max and their cat, Beau. Powerful speech, Talia! ❤ Like you said, great communication goes beyond words. Words are very important, yet it is the authenticity that can inspire people. Improvisations are the most captivating! When I was a child I discovered that it is not what we say but how we say it that makes the difference. The tone of our words has the most impact, e.g. two people may try to use the same words and only one person may be able to connect with the audience in a way that deeply resonates or moves people to action. Another example, I could hear someone speak in another language that I don't understand and their tone will make me pay attention. Dr. King has been my inspiration, his words emerge from a deeper place. In my view, people with lived experiences also have expertise. I used to watch debates on TV about immigration and there was not one person that was an immigrant to talk about immigration. We need these powerful voices to not only open the minds but above all, to open the hearts. Thank you so much for speaking from your heart, Talia!
